Chapter 307: A Child

Chapter Three Hundred-Seven – A Child

Sorren listened attentively but he couldn’t place what the Queen meant by sisters? His mother’s? Who’s Zena?

But he stayed calm and hoped she’d get to the point, he felt he should go pick Chris already since the King will be more straightforward with his acceptance or rejection.

The Queen tilted her head.

The young man didn’t understand her and she had begun to sense his lycan aura and it made her feel uncomfortable to stay close. "Do you remember Sarah?"

Sorren’s eyes lit up. "I do. My mother."

The Queen’s eyes lit up as well, she felt glad to know that they reached common ground. "She had a sister. I didn’t know her much but her sister once served me."

Sorren didn’t expect the twist on the Queen knowing his mother nor did he expect his mother’s sister, a daughter of an Alpha, to be servant to the Queen.

He knew that something happened to their pack and the sisters had to separate, but did it get too bad that she had to be a servant?

Till now, he didn’t know why his mother didn’t just bring her to Black Claws after she married a Lycan King.

Sorren shook his head in the negative. If he knew about his mother’s sister, then he’d make it up to her because it seemed his mother neglected her.

"I never met this sister but could you tell me where I can find her?" he asked. "She served you how long ago?"

The Queen chuckled softly, she looked outside the window and gestured for her son to come closer. "You don’t mind Kiad staying in here with us, do you?"

Sorren shrugged. The Prince didn’t bother him, but he obviously bothered the Prince. "As you wish."

The Queen liked his choice of words, it felt polite in a way but also showed he wouldn’t be sucking up to her.

It was an interesting character for someone wanting an alliance with her kingdom while being in an icky situation of being a lycan.

The young man might have a lot of faith in his pack. She waved her hand to her son and smiled when he noticed.

Prince Kiad wanted to run into the carriage to escape the melting sun but something worse waiting for him in there – a lycan in flesh.

He tried to look away from his mother. The only reason he brought her out was to use her to garner favor from his father, but things hadn’t been going as planned at all.

First, she went snack tasting and he had to sit there like a sculpture for the ladies to gawk at, not that he mind but he had better things to do.

And then, his mother had dragged him to meet a pretty girl she saw looking angrily at her but led him to the carriage he saw the Prince Sorren in.

He had thought if he told her that it belonged to a lycan from Black Claws then she’d lose interest but her curiosity only spiked. He turned to her and she still waved.

He sighed in exasperation. Whatever she wanted with him should be important if she tried so hard to get his attention. He walked towards the carriage.

He stood in front of the door where Sorren sat and lifted a brow. Sorren tsked. "You want me to open the door for you like a Princess?" he tried to keep his voice low.

Those words embarrassed Prince Kiad, especially as Sorren looked more like a Princess than he did.

He opened the door himself and sat comfortable, then a new problem arose. He had a flashback of his mother tricking him to seat in a carriage with a Princess.

His mother always pulled stunts like that in an attempt to help him get married. This case wasn’t such but Kiad felt conscious because Sorren looked feminine.

"Now, about the sister of Sarah." The Queen rubbed her hands. "I’d start with the fact that she’s dead now."

There wasn’t much reaction on Sorren’s face apart from his brows lowering. It displeased him that a family member of his died without he getting to see them.

It actually hurt him more than he showed. "Any child?"

The Queen nodded strongly like she’d been waiting to be asked. "You don’t know about him? I can understand why he didn’t say anything. You two are very different now."

Sorren’s eyes narrowed at the woman. She also knew the surviving child of his mother’s sister? With the way she said it, Sorren wondered if he knew the person too.

The child didn’t make himself known because they’re different, which meant the child knew him as an official at Black Claws. The child would also be around Black Claws.

Sorren understood being discriminated based on birth status and he wasn’t a fan. It had been a problem for him growing up as his mother wasn’t the real Luna.

"Where’s the child now?" he asked, even if he guessed he’d be around Black Claws at the moment.

The Queen shrugged. It’d be odd to say the child was currently at High Moon Kingdom and she didn’t want to expose the plan they had with Laurel. "Find out."

Sorren’s shoulders slumped. "Huh?" it left him.

The Queen chuckled at that reaction.

Prince Kiad sighed, he didn’t understand everything they said but when he got invested in whatever secret child Prince Sorren would want to see, his mother dropped him.

Sorren rubbed his neck, accepting it. "I’d find him then. Is there any other thing you can tell me? Maybe about my mother’s sister? How did she die?"

The Queen opened her mouth to speak but the words stuck on her throat. The Grand Witch Ella had been reported to have hurt the Black Claws’ Prince.

That Prince will be the young man in front of her. She wondered how he’d feel if she dropped the bomb that his mother’s sister was a witch who served that Grand Witch.

"I’d tell you this only. The child is a year younger than you. His name is Zena. Don’t be mean to him, hmm? He went through a lot after his mother’s death."

Sorren nodded at the Queen’s words. ’Zena’ sounded familiar but he didn’t remember it as a name of anybody.

"Thank you—" before he finished, the Queen jumped down from the carriage and quickly ran back to the restaurant. Prince Kiad sighed tiredly and followed.
