Chapter 261: Her Weak Magic
Chapter Two Hundred-Sixty-One – Her Weak Magic
Laurel placed a cup of tea in front of Bebe, who still narrated the events that she experienced, with hand gestures and sound effects.
It all worked out at the end, that’s all that mattered.
Laurel would’ve preferred if the contract binding Green Valleys to Rolling Stones was an alliance, not subjugation though. It could’ve worked.
The alliance that got dissolved was with Rolling Stones and Black Claws, not her pack. But Laurel guessed that Stefan didn’t want Rolling Stones feeling comfortable.
The highlight would be Bebe’s sudden madness but Bebe stopped before the incident, repeating that she didn’t know what came after her.
Zeldris returned with a medicine and bandages and treated some opened wounds while she spoke.
Since they remained unhealed then it’d be either the Alpha or Sorren that caused it. They weren’t even gentle with the girl that was obviously not herself.
"I do remember feeling really annoyed then my head heated up, but afterwards, it felt like I passed out from tiredness." Bebe said on remembering.
However, the reason her head had heated up was unknown to her. She winced when Zeldris roughly bandaged a wound. He let go of her worriedly.
"Look, another thing could be... your consciousness got tampered with. I don’t know the boundless magic the Grand Witch possesses but it’s boundless. The more it returns to her, the more she’d show off." Zeldris sighed.
Being the enemy of a Grand Witch hadn’t been in his life’s bucket list ever but here he was. Even his last family member was being targeted.
Laurel stared at the tea in front of her while thinking. Tampering with Bebe’s consciousness will make sense why Bebe couldn’t remember anything.
If the Grand Witch had been so bold to temporarily possess Bebe’s body to kill Sorren, then Bebe would be dormant in her own body.
"And the Grand Witch is an Alpha so you must have been stronger too." Laurel said out loud. "That might be why Sorren or the Alpha had to injure you so much—"
"It’s the Alpha." Bebe shook her head. "Prince Sorren will never hurt me, he hates violence." She pouted a little.
Zeldris rolled his eyes. She could remain in denial. Which lycan didn’t like violence? Still, he was curious about this Sorren since they had a connection.
"But if the witch possessed her then she must’ve been close to do that, there’s no way she was far away." Zeldris added. There was no such long range connections.
"Then, she must’ve been waiting for you to be alone... do you remember anything she must’ve done to weaken you to make it easy to seep into your consciousness—"
"Yes!" Bebe sprang up from the bed and paced around with balled fists. "When she kidnapped me, she had locked me in a small metallic box."
She remembered reliving all the traumatic events that ever happened in her life before she released her and since then, those headaches started.
So she might as well be a ticking time bomb that’d be set whenever she’s close to Prince Sorren, and that thought made her chest to constrict.
She had to avoid Prince Sorren.
Zeldris and Laurel watched as she massaged her chest like it ached. The Princess glanced at Zeldris and spoke in his mind link.
"Do you know if Sorren’s mother used magic long enough to know the Grand Witch? Maybe the Grand Witch had a grudge against her."
Zeldris shrugged, then paused before answering in mind link. "I remember that Sorren’s mother’s magic might not be so great as she didn’t lose her wolf so she probably thought not being a witch was better."
Didn’t lose her wolf? Laurel nodded, those must be the rare occurrences when witches had magic that were compatible with their wolves.
The magic gotten wasn’t so powerful as it exerted from the wolf more but it was better as they could still shift.
Sorren’s mother must’ve chosen to live normally instead of exerting her wolf and best as she caught the eye of a lycan King and lived normally before her tragic death.
"That will mean that Sorren probably have less magic in him tham I did." Zeldris shrugged again.
Laurel tilted her head. "Why?"
"Well, I was born after my mother traded her wolf and had magic so I have magic residue. Sorren’s mother had weak magic and her wolf so her child will have less magic."
Which was best! Laurel cleared her throat when she noticed Bebe staring at her questioningly as she had been quiet. "Either way Bebe, Rest and eat well."
The young girl nodded, turning to Zeldris.
He and the Princess were speaking in mind link to avoid her hearing it, weren’t they? She wondered if her situation was worse than she thought.
She felt like she should personally apologize to the Prince but he’d probably be on guard against her. It made tears well up in her eyes.
Zeldris left the room for the girls and Laurel exhaled, not knowing the next words to comfort Bebe with.
Zeldris’s cousin was supposed to heal her but he became a victim, who didn’t even know he had magic residue.
She couldn’t tell Bebe that yet as they didn’t know how much of her consciousness the witch had claim off.
Infact, sadly, Bebe would’ve to know less of the things happening in the pack so that if her consciousness got taken again, she’d have no new information.
"Bebe, focus only on training from now onwards. A healthy body is a sound mind. You’d be able to keep her out of your head." She left where she sat.
The young Beta’s place will be the best place to keep the girl since he could train her, if he felt like, and if the witch snuck in there, the Beta’s magical items would notice.
That’s all Laurel could think at the moment, not a solution but a way to avoid and postpone the effect.
This might mean she’d have to go to Sir Darren again, much to her dismay. If the Grand Witch was around Rolling Stones, then she could be captured quickly.
