Chapter 191: Benevolent
Chapter Hundred-Ninety-One – Benevolent
Dylan had questions. A lot. But he checked the Prince’s mood before thinking of opening his mouth.
The Prince had just threatened an old lady, after all.
They left the granny’s house and Dylan’s eyes went all over the pack. It was quite peaceful and seemed like the people had always been there.
"Your highness, I’ve been meaning to ask but couldn’t we have returned to our Kingdom? Then clean it out like—"
"You should ask your Alpha." Sorren kept a hand on his shoulder. "During those fifteen years, some paupers and homeless wolves used our Kingdom as home. So guess."
Dylan’s shoulders lowered. He could guess what had happened. "Alpha let them take the place, didn’t he?
"I was disappointed at him." Sorren sighed. "A Kingdom. His defense was that they were a lot, and they were actually. Still! They even put a fight, claiming our land!"
Dylan slowly regretted asking the question as the Prince began boiling and cursing.
Even the Black Claws Warriors knew, of how benevolent their Alpha could be sometimes.
How he once gave out one-third of their food supply to starving children, when they’re on a dangerous expedition. It was both admirable and sufferable, an equal blend too.
"Well, we got a good land too. At our former Kingdom, there were a lot of unused lands so here that’s a bit smaller, we’d use each land wisely—"
"Unused lands didn’t mean useless lands. They could’ve become farm to unique plants." Sorren rubbed Dylan with his elbow. "How dare you call a land useless."
Dylan groaned lowly. He should never have spoken at all.
At the Prince’s quarters, he sighted a notice that seemed to be specially packaged.
It showed that it’d be delivered by birds and not by hand, and Dylan wondered who it was to go to.
Getting closer, he saw that it had a name on it. Gunther of Damancas. It wasn’t someone he knew.
Dylan walked towards the room where the Prince was getting something. "Your highness, the notice—whoa."
His glued to the regal attire the Prince held up. He snapped from his daze and pointed at himself. "For me—"
Sorren threw it on his head. "You might get to wear it on your first date ever. Also, what about the notice?"
Dylan took the cloth off his head and stared at it passionately. He already imagine himself being popular with the girls by only wearing it.
"Um... thank you, Prince Sorren." He ran back to the Prince. "And the notice to Damancas, do you have someone at Damancas to help with the alliance?"
"Yes."
Dylan’s eyes brightened. "As expected of you. You’re always so resourceful, Prince Sorren."
"Not really, they’ve really unique fetishes there and I got unlucky or lucky enough to fit." Sorren said, walking back to his table.
Dylan’s head went blank on hearing the reply. Fetishes? He got bothered, holding unto the cloth tightly for comfort. "They didn’t do anything to you, did they, Prince Sorren?"
The Princess was unusually beautiful for a male and even Dylan had to get used to it over the years.
Could one of those werewolves have made the Prince do something weird for an alliance? He gazed at the Prince pleadingly, hoping for a negative response.
Sorren took his head up, and noticed the gaze. He backtracked his memory and filtered the last question Dylan asked. "Oh, umm... no. What will they do?"
A sigh of relief left Dylan. Then he puffed his chest up confidently. "Prince Sorren, if you need something, I’d go to Damancas for you. I’d use all my power to achieve it."
Sorren had a hidden smirk. The boy was exposing himself again. "No need, Dylan. Just sit tight where you are."
Dylan nodded, still confident.
Sorren packaged the notices he needed to send to Cade and to his older brother, and handed the bag to Dylan.
Holding the bag, Dylan felt it pull him down. Were all those notices? They weren’t up to five yet weighed like two hundred!
"Some baked snacks are in there." Sorren added.
Some? Dylan made a tight lipped smile. It wasn’t some.
"Make sure Sigma only shares with you. Cade shouldn’t even sniff them." Sorren warned, adding some authority in his tone. He gently pushed Dylan ahead.
The warrior exhaled as his holiday came to an end, and he’d have to return to the pack infested with Lady Cara.

It wasn’t his first time to not keep a promise, but it still hurt Darren to leave Ella at Damancas. He knew it was for her own good.
Also, he had come home with someone she didn’t like – another nemesis of hers. Thankfully, by the time he’d go back for her, the young man he brought would be gone.
Gone to Green Valleys and try for Delta or gone to Jappongi to find his new purpose.
He was a hybrid, but more werewolf than lycan.
Darren hoped his lycan part wouldn’t make him off-putting to the Princess because he never had any lycan problem.
Darren returned to the room where he had left his visitor. It was empty and his sword was gone, only the scabbard was left behind.
"Escanor! Don’t try me!"
He rushed out to his weaponry room, and there he found the redhead bowing and praying to his axe, a weapon rusty and stinking of blood.
"I can tell it had killed the most." Escanor looked up at the axe, his golden irises shimmering in admiration.
Darren face palmed. Maybe he should return the young man back to Damancas. There was no need to bother the Princess which such a burden.
"Escanor, get up from the dirty floor. You’d soil the white trousers your mother gave you." Darren walked out of the weaponry.
Escanor was the same age with the Princess so Darren hoped they’d get along.
As he was a strong young man who easily grew attached to people, and things, Darren hoped he’d foster a sense of loyalty to Laurel and defend her within the den of Lycans.
Also, Darren had an important reason for sending Escanor there. He needed the boy to decipher what exactly was the Lycan Alpha’s intention towards Laurel.
It bothered Darren that the Alpha had his eyes on Laurel, the last future of Green Valleys.
If those intentions were bad, it’d be best to be aware on time and prepare for counterattacks.
If those intentions were good, it’d also be best to be aware and... manipulate. Everything will work out.
