Chapter 177: What’s your type?

Chapter Hundred-Seventy-Seven – What is your type?

Darren walked up to them. "I must’ve sinned so greatly against the Moon Goddess, that I have to put up with this."

The two unsuspecting gropers didn’t realize his presence, till a plank fell on their heads.

The Prince Kiad held the maiden that lowered her head in pain. "Da-Darren?"

"Kindly get the hell out, your highness," Darren said politely, taking his eyes to the maid’s bare body, "with her."

The Prince let go of the maid, who quickly wore her clothes, but didn’t leave their presence. Prince Kiad took his shirt down, covering his hickey filled abs.

A humorous expression was on his face. "Darren, are you sure you want her to leave? She’s quite good, you know. She told me you never touched her."

Was he supposed to? Darren got into his room but the Prince followed, asking. "Is she not your type?"

Darren tried pouring tea, from the kettle, into a cup, but it was empty. He groaned, dropping the kettle.

The maid came in to help refill it but Darren glared at her. "Didn’t I say to get out?"

The maid shivered then hurried out. Prince Kiad nodded, "She definitely isn’t your type. What’s your type then?"

Darren poured water from the water kettle into his cup. "Leave me alone, your highness. I should’ve known her scanty dressing meant something."

Somehow, he had attributed it to cultural dressing and tried to respect and live with it.

If anything, he’d worry that the usual cold weather of the night will be hard for her, so he let her partake in his tea before bed ritual. All had been revealed to be a waste.

Prince Kiad rubbed his chin. "You like girls who dress cutely, then? I can find them. You like them shy, right?"

Darren slammed the cup to the table. "Your highness, you don’t have anything to talk about, right? You can go play with your girls, instead of bothering me."

The Prince had a straight expression before plopping down on a bed besides Darren, making the Young Master frown.

Prince Kiad complained. "Lately, it’s not so fun anymore. Also, since I heard you dropped lycan hunting and took over a pack, I’ve been truly happy for you."

Darren scoffed. "So that’s really what’s it about?" he shook his head. "You’re not happy for me, you’re trying to bring me down to your level."

There was a second silence before the Prince’s eyes darkened on him.

"I gave you a hot lady as a maid. What do you mean by bring you down to my level? What level is that? I’m a Prince, you know."

But Darren was sure that Prince Kiad was aware of what he meant. The only thing that Prince was good at was sleeping with women and being a social butterfly.

If he used his social skills to bag business deals, that’d be fine, but he only bagged gullible Princesses and Ladies of other packs, creating an awkward image for himself.

Darren didn’t think he was comparatively better than the Prince, who was a Prince with loving family and didn’t need to worry about taking responsibility.

Darren was the opposite, with no parents and had taken responsibilities, yet, Darren knew he was a level of impressive that the Prince couldn’t achieve yet.

Hence his statement remained.

But he didn’t want to spoil the slowly breaking relationship he had with the Prince so he rephrased.

"I mean, you know that I’m not into ladies. That’s your expertise. Don’t push it to me, please."

Prince Kiad was well aware of his thoughts but acted like he understood that. "Suit yourself."

He made a move to leave, his mood has been destroyed by Darren daring to compare them. He was a Prince, and that’s an enviable thing to be.

Why did Darren made it look like it wasn’t?

The Prince paused. "Ah, right. In the letter you sent back to Silent River, you had sent one to Green Valleys, right?"

Darren glanced at him, wondering why he asked, then he nodded. He was then surprised to see Prince Kiad gleefully return to his side. It made him displeased.

Prince Kiad had a contrasting expression on his face. "Are you close to their princess by any chance? You see, I’m having plans for her."

It didn’t even bother Darren. Knowing Prince Kiad, he probably thought Laurel was that kind of girl.

If the Prince will ever make a move, then he’d be faced with the revelation that she wasn’t that type.

"A fact that not many know but my banishment is somewhat linked to her. So you can say I know her. Why do you ask?"

The Prince’s eyes lit up. "Really?" he snuck closer to Darren. "So you’re like an older brother figure, right?"

Darren’s lips curved down. "I wouldn’t flatter myself."

What did the Prince want now? He could always visit the Princess and get a direct answer of rejection.

The Prince ignored Darren’s reply and said. "So tell me," his face became serious, "what type of relationship does she have with that lycan Alpha?"

Darren had been trying to filter out Darren’s words and think of the situation that brought him here, but his last words piqued his interest.

The lycan Alpha in charge of Green Valleys’? Darren didn’t know much about him, expect he’d be a powerful and brave person.

Darren thought he was brave since he’d dared to live in a place filled with werewolf packs and besides a Kingdom. He was at risk of an attack but he didn’t seem to care.

Darren also thought it strange that he and his brother took the Princess to a lycan kingdom and on returning, gave Laurel the rights to her pack.

Those were strange but Darren also trust the Princess not to be involved in any suspicious activity with those lycans.

"What made you ask this?" Darren enquired. The Prince wasn’t so introspective to think that’s how Laurel got the rights to her pack. That’d be insulting too.

"When I had visited her to give a congratulatory message, that lycan Alpha had walked in on us. So casually like he owned the place." The Prince frowned as he remembered.

Darren cocked his head, trying to get meaning from that. "Well, basically he does. What else happened?"

"Then his countenance changed." Prince Kiad quickly added. I know because I’m like that when I see my brothers play with any of my girls. Of course, I’d brush it off later but his was thicker. It scared me."

The reply made Darren frown. He’d have pass it off as the Prince’s natural fear for lycans but if the Prince, versed in emotions, couldn’t identify the Lycan Alpha showing jealousy, then something was wrong.

"I don’t know anything." Darren shrugged, then turned away from the Prince. Something was really wrong.
