Chapter 121: The Miraculous Recovery

Ed decided the meeting was over—nothing had been gained, but yet nothing had been lost. He opened the double doors going from the conference room to the hallway. As he did, a young man and an older woman dressed in white robes walked by. The older lady turned her head toward the conference room, and the mother superior recognized her immediately—it was Sister Agatha.

Zach looked at the young man that walked with the nun, and he was a splitting image of Tim when he was about sixteen. As they continued down the hallway, a bright light appeared, and they turned around. Timothy waved goodbye to his father. Just as soon as the bright light had appeared, it vanished, and they were both gone.

The mother superior and both nurses were on their knees praying. Tim was overcome with emotion, as was Zach. Carter and Emma were shocked at what they had just witnessed with their own eyes. Ed, one who had always skirted religious beliefs, realized that they had just seen two of the Father’s angels ascending to home.

Tim caught his breath and got his bearings straight. "I need to see Jared immediately," he told his father.

Zach agreed, as did everyone else. The mother superior asked if she could accompany them to the room—maybe she could help Jared if he needed it.

When Tim opened the door to Jared’s room, Jared was sitting in the bed like nothing had happened. His swollen cheek and bruised face was healed. Jared smiled and laughed. "What took you so long? I’ve been waiting. I’m ready to go home. Why am I here anyway? I’m not sick."

Nurse Hawks walked over to Jared and took his blood pressure—it was normal. Then she realized she had a hold of his left arm, the one that was broken just a few hours ago and he had extensive surgery on, but now it was healed. She pushed the buzzer to get a doctor in here now.

Jared was smiling and grabbed Tim’s hand. "Did you get to see him before he left? Did you see our Timothy?"

Tim sat down on the corner of the bed, leaned over, and hugged Jared. "Yes, I did, and he was beautiful."

The mother superior had to have a seat—this was one that no one could explain to her. She saw the picture of a child that had passed away that was signed by a nun who had also passed away four years earlier. Then she saw the same nun walk by her dressed in white robes along with the young man who looked just like his father who was standing beside her, but only younger. And the two disappeared into a bright light.

Walt came into the room and wanted to know what was wrong. He looked at Jared. "What are your bandages doing off your arms and legs, young man?"

"Doc, I don’t need them, and oh, by the way, here’s a bunch of screws that Timothy handed me and told me to give them back to you—that I didn’t need them anymore."

Walt had to take a deep breath. "What do you mean you didn’t need the screws anymore? Where did they come from?"

"Well, Timothy was here and he healed me, and the screws came out of my leg and my hip. He said that I was perfect and I can go home as soon as you let me."

"Jared, I want to take you down for an x-ray. I’ve got to see this on film—no one’s going to believe this after we spent all those hours putting you back together."

"Sure, but you’re just wasting time and money."

Walt called for a gurney to take Jared down for x-rays. The orderly came, picked Jared up, and took him downstairs to radiology. Walt told everybody to wait there—he would return shortly.

As the scans were being made, Walt could not believe what he was seeing. Lex was also a witness to this event. The bones were perfect—there were not any cracks, any indications that there had ever been any kind of breaks in any bone contained within Jared’s body. All of the screws that Jared had handed to Walt should have been in his body, but they weren’t needed because it was perfectly healed, almost like it had never been crushed or broken before.

Walt and Lex carried Jared back to his room. Jared got out of the chair and took a seat on the bed. "I feel fine, so when do I get out of this place? We got a lot of cleanup work to do at the Z-1, and I need to be there to help."

Tim looked at Jared. "Hey, no way you’re getting anywhere near that warehouse—it’s under investigation trying to find out what happened to the overhead crane. Until the investigation’s through, we can’t do anything at the warehouse."

"Well then, I need to give a letter to your father. It’s a list of names, times, dates, and places of everyone involved with the sabotage of the crane and other things that are fixing to happen." Jared’s voice grew serious. "This was given to me by Timothy so that we could protect other Genmen from a similar fate."

Zach carefully took the letter from Jared. "I’ll make sure that this gets directly to the GBI and is opened so they cannot claim any tampering. Tony Corday is going to lose his mind when he reads it, and when I tell him who wrote it."

Walt looked at Ed, Zach, Tim, and everybody involved. "He’s perfect—there’s nothing wrong. He can go home as soon as I sign a piece of paper for discharge. I’ve never seen anything like this. I don’t know how to explain it."

The mother superior smiled. "My good doctor, this is what is known as a miracle. We may not see them every day, but we do know that they happen."

"Tim, where is our picture of Timothy? I want to make sure it goes home—I need to be able to see him."

The mother superior had it with her and handed it to Jared so he could treasure it forever. He was holding the picture of a true angel, a child of the Father of all. Jared thanked her.

"No, thank you, for you have blessed us all with your greatest sacrifice," she responded.

Jared motioned for Emma to come near. He reached out and placed in her hand a small diskette. "This is for you from my Timothy. He said for you to view it along with Carter, and you would know exactly how to present it so that everyone would know the truth about his death. Thank you, Emma."

"I will view it, and I can guarantee you that everyone will know about this wonderful child," Emma thanked Jared.

Jared looked around. "Okay, somebody get it together. I’m ready to go home—there’s stuff to be done at the ranch that I can’t do laying here in this bed taking up space for somebody else that needs it. I’m healed and I’m ready to go. I will take it easy for the next few days, but I’m ready."

Walt couldn’t argue with common sense because Jared was ready—he was totally healed by miracle. "Jared, let me get a few things together, get some paperwork processed at the desk, and we’ll get ready for your discharge. Within an hour to hour and a half, you’ll be out, and then we’ll all go back to the ranch as a family."

Jared smiled and thanked Dr. Stafford for what he and his staff did for their family.
