Heavenly Unbound: The System Maker! -
Chapter 185 – Day 4,000, Zhang Minghao!
The senior elder froze mid-step, his eyes narrowing as he turned toward the patriarch.
"But Patriarch... he intruded into the sacred chamber and injured our elders. Are we to let this go unpunished?" the senior elder said.
Xia Zhenhai did not answer. He only gazed at the senior elder—a calm yet cold gaze. The gaze made the senior elder feel a chill down his spine.
"…As you command, Patriarch," the senior elder said, the words clearly bitter on his tongue.
Xia Zhenhai turned his gaze toward Hengsheng. He looked at the man with curiosity.
The other Xia Clan elders might not have noticed, since they were busy fighting, but Xia Zhenhai—who had observed the entire scene—could see an incredible truth about this man.
The strength that Lan Hengsheng displayed when he fought with the elders was clearly on par with a Grand Unity Expert, but his true cultivation realm wasn’t at that realm.
Xia Zhenhai had noticed that the worldly laws were fully applying to Lan Hengsheng's actions; if he truly were a Grand Unity Expert, as his strength showed, the worldly laws should have had less effect on him.
This meant he had not yet entered the Spirit Integration stage. In other words, Lan Hengsheng was just a True Body Realm cultivator—at best.
Xia Zhenhai wondered how a low-rank cultivator could attain such overwhelming strength.
"You have proven your ability, so let’s talk…" Xia Zhenhai said.
…
Shortly after that, the grand frozen chamber returned to its normal state—a calm place for discussion, not a battlefield.
Hengsheng stood at the center of the grand frozen chamber, where he had first appeared in this place, his eyes gazing toward the side where the senior elder stood. Then he smirked.
Seeing Lan Hengsheng's smirk, a vein bulged on the senior elder's forehead—this guy was clearly provoking him!
Hengsheng turned away from the senior elder and swept his gaze across the other elders around the chamber on both sides.
They had all recovered from the battle to some extent, but traces of it could still be seen on their bodies—whether it was a swollen face or burned skin. There was no fatal injury; this was because of Hengsheng's mercy.
Just like the senior elder, when they saw Hengsheng smirk at them, they became angry. How could they not? They had just been beaten by one man on their own home ground.
Then, Hengsheng's gaze landed on Xia Zhenxue. She was currently with her parents and their family branch group. Most of the elders in this group had not joined the others in attacking Hengsheng, so they were the least damaged group in the chamber.
Xia Zhenxue sent a sound transmission to him, wanting to help convince the Xia Clan elders and Patriarch, but Hengsheng declined—since he was already here, he preferred to do it himself.
Hengsheng shook his head as a sign to Xia Zhenxue before turning his gaze forward to the Xia Clan Patriarch on the grand frozen throne. Without more delay, he began to speak.
"Let me introduce myself once more. I am Lan Hengsheng, the chairman of the Endless Wealth Company. Today, I’ve come to make you a proposal," Hengsheng said, his tone serious.
"I will help you reclaim your ancestral land!" he said confidently as he gazed at the Xia Clan Patriarch.
Before the echo of Hengsheng’s final words could fade, a cold snort rang out from the side.
"You speak nonsense!" the senior elder interrupted, his eyes narrowed in disdain.
"Your Endless Wealth Company is just a newly rising merchant faction from a small region in the south. You don’t even have the strength to stand against a Gu Dynasty," he said, clearly aiming to expose Hengsheng's lowly background before the Patriarch and other elders.
"Still, you dare to talk big about helping us reclaim our territory. I bet you don’t even know how strong the Blood Fiend Palace is," the senior elder said as he gazed at Hengsheng with disdain.
A few elders nodded slightly, the chamber once again stirring with murmurs. The claim sounded outrageous—almost laughable.
Some elders, gaining courage as the tension rose, began to rise from their seats and insult Hengsheng, spitting as they insulted, calling him stupid or using other rude words.
They took petty revenge on Hengsheng—since they couldn't do it with might, they resorted to words instead. But just as tension started to build, an invisible pressure swept through the hall like a crashing wave of ice.
The senior elder and other elders froze in place. Their bodies trembled slightly under the weight of an overwhelming aura.
“Enough.” The Xia Clan Patriarch’s voice was calm, but its force silenced the room. His eyes left the elders and turned to Hengsheng.
He leaned slightly forward on the frozen throne, resting one hand on the armrest, then spoke.
“Lan Hengsheng… I’m interested in your proposal, but your words sound too exaggerated. Tell me—if it’s really possible, how do you plan to achieve it? And what do you want in return?” Xia Zhenhai said, his face showing the same calm neutrality, emotionless, worn by any other faction head out there.
Deep down, he hoped Hengsheng’s claim was possible. If there were a ranking of those who wanted the Blood Fiend Palace gone, he’d be near the top—or even at the very top.
The room fell silent again.
All eyes turned to Hengsheng.
Their gazes did not make Hengsheng nervous—not even one bit.
“I will give you what you lack in order to defeat them…” Hengsheng said, his lips curving up slightly before he continued.
…
A Year Later.
Ding!

Daily Reward Upgraded
Reward: Skill Scroll—Pure Sun (Tier 7) (x1)
[Accept Reward] / [Convert to System Points]
Hengsheng's brow rose in surprise, and then he became excited. This was the first time he had gained an item ranked above Tier 6.
The skill scroll was an item that allowed him to use a certain skill described in the scroll without costing anything, no energy or understanding needed, except the scroll itself. It was a game-like item; no better word could describe this item.
Hengsheng accepted the reward. A moment later, the skill scroll was in his hand. He opened the scroll and read through its contents to see what the skill was all about.
"This freaking spoiler…" Hengsheng murmured after finishing the skill description. The contents of the scroll clearly hinted at what was going to happen in the future, and this skill would help him solve that problem.
He threw the skill scroll into his item storage and wrote a mental note into the system reminder, making sure he wouldn’t forget about its existence. Since he had a lot of items right now, he tended to forget about them—sometimes, when he recalled them, they were already useless to him.
Hengsheng took a while doing his morning routine. Even though he no longer slept—having replaced it with meditation many years ago—his morning routine remained important. It had become a kind of ritual, the final step of his meditation.
When he was done, he stepped out of the chamber. Someone was waiting for him—Zhang Minghao, the vice commander of his private army. This guy had become like his second servant after Lan Ju.
Thinking about Lan Ju, he wanted to know how her life was going. Was she fine, or was she already dead? The Immortal Realm should be a hellhole for someone mediocre like her.
He couldn’t help but worry. How could he not, since this royal servant of his had stayed with him for a decade? It is impossible not to have some bond with each other.
'If you die, I will revive you then,' Hengsheng thought. By the time he reunited with his Lan Clan, he would likely have become a True Immortal—reviving someone shouldn’t be difficult by then.
“Lord Hengsheng,” Zhang Minghao said, bowing with a fist salute.
“No need for formality, Minghao. How are the preparations?” Hengsheng said, as he looked at this guy with the Inspection Eyes.
[Zhang Minghao]
[Age: 570 years]
[Cultivation Realm: True Body Realm / The Ninth Gate]
[Background: Born in the Ninth Heaven, Zhang Minghao was cast down into a lower realm as a baby due to political matters among his clan…Zhang Minghao began seeking a cure for his sick wife. In his search, he came into contact with the Endless Wealth Company…]
Hengsheng couldn’t help but wonder if this guy was the protagonist of this Nine Heaven Realm or not—his background could be written into a proper novel without any problem.
Zhang Minghao did not become the vice commander through flattery or any other underhanded method, but purely through his strength.
If Xia Zhenxue was strong enough to fight against Spirit Integration Realm cultivators while still in the True Body Realm, thanks to her bloodline and well-rebuilt cultivation base.
Then Zhang Minghao, who had the same strength—or even slightly more—than Xia Zhenxue, had achieved it through a cultivation base as solid as super diamond and well-trained techniques. In other words, this guy was a true genius cultivator.
