Chapter 373: Chapter 0277: Results are Minimal_2 Chapter 373: Chapter 0277: Results are Minimal_2 This was merely a fragment. Qi Tian didn’t dare to imagine what a formidable treasure it would be if it were in its complete state.

Qi Tian took the Demon-Seeing Mirror fragment into his hand and scrutinized it carefully. Although tiny, he noticed that each broken shard inherited some functionality of the mirror. They acted like smaller mirrors. Though it might not cater to aesthetic chasers, each fragment could still serve its original purpose, reflecting objects.

This Demon-Seeing Mirror shard was no different. Through the reflection of the shard, Qi Tian could see his face clearly. In addition to that, it presented him flushed with a red glow, a radiance resembling the dawn sun, warm and full of hope.

He was entirely sure his face should not be flushing red, and he verified this using a regular mirror, confirming his appearance – pale-skinned youth with slightly rosy cheeks but no signs of being flush-faced.

Qi Tian shook his head, unsure of the significance of the red glow. Instead of pondering further, he decided to put aside the Demon-Seeing Mirror fragment temporarily.

Subsequently, he began to take inventory of other items, most of which he purchased from the Wanjie Commerce. Five Ice Sword Talismans and an Array Breaking Blade. These were his preparation to break the seal of the cave. He hoped that they could play their part; otherwise, he might need to revisit Wanjie City.

Qi Tian moved to the wall of the cave, glanced at the inscribed runes and the seal in the center of the alter. Multiple rune chains shot out from the seal into the wall, forming a tight Rune Array. The Rune Array prohibited Qi Tian from flying and contacting the outside world – escaping was out of the question.

He pulled out the Array Breaking Blade. According to Wanjie Commerce, it is capable of confronting a Gold Core array. They didn’t guarantee that it could break a Gold Core array fully, but breaking more than half of it would be no issue.

Qi Tian raised the Array Breaking Blade above his head, pouring his magical power into it, and gave a mighty blow onto the runes on the wall.

With a clear crack sound, sparks burst from the wall. The Array Breaking Blade’s tip shattered. Arguably, the runes on the wall didn’t even budge, as if nothing had ever happened.

Qi Tian was furious. Had Wanjie Commerce deceived him? Yet, considering their credible operations throughout years in Wanjie City, the chance of that happening was slim. Furthermore, he had tested the blade’s power at the time of purchase. There’s no way the blade’s quality could decrease within merely a few days.

Could it be that the runes on the cave wall, including the rune chains overhead, were not ordinary Gold Core arrays, but rather they were intriguing formidable arrays? Or even something beyond Gold Core arrays, like a Nascent Soul array?

The mere thought of this possibility sent shivers down Qi Tian’s spine. He was struggling even with a Gold Core array right now, if it indeed turned out to be a Nascent Soul array, he would be totally helpless.

Qi Tian shook off this despairing thought. With the slightly damaged Array Breaking Blade in his hand, he glanced at the altar. After a low roar, he charged towards the altar carrying the blade.

Before Qi Tian could reach the alter, a myriad of lights began to emanate from it, forming a spherical protection shield around it instantly.

Qi Tian’s blade struck the protection barrier, causing two sparkles before everything returning to tranquility. Not giving up, he attacked the barrier two more times with his blade. Each time, the shield would merely flash twice before standing indifferent.

Feeling helpless, Qi Tian could only put away the Array Breaking Blade. After some thought, he took out a mining shovel. Since the Array Breaking Blade was useless, he could only try with an Innate Spiritual Treasure. If even the Innate Spiritual Treasure did not work, Qi Tian would be nearly out of options.

He raised the shovel and swung it at the protective shield. With a thud, the shield shuddered, but quickly returned to calm.

Seeing that it was working, Qi Tian raised the mining shovel and hacked at the protective shield repeatedly. He swung several hundred times and there were some effects, but they were very slight. The protective shield barely showed any damage.

Just then, a runic chain suddenly retracted from the wall of the cave and lurched out like a spiritual snake, aiming straight for Qi Tian.

Qi Tian was busy hacking at the shield with his mining shovel, bis guard was down. He was solidly hit by the runic chain. With a thud, the protection talismans Qi Tian wore shattered one after another, but were unable to block the whipping of the runic chain.

Qi Tian let out a miserable shriek as he was flung away by the runic chain. He flew several meters and slammed into the cave wall. The mining shovel slipped out of his hand and was thrown out.

With a swish, the runic chain raced towards the flung mining shovel, coiling it up in the blink of an eye. The runic chain then rapidly retracted, seemingly about to pull back into the protective shield.

At the sight of this, Qi Tian’s eyes widened in fury. At this point, the mining shovel was unquestionably one of his biggest trump cards. Judging from the way the ink ribbon tried to take away the mining shovel, it posed a certain threat to them. If the ink ribbon were to take away the mining shovel, Qi Tian might be stuck in a situation where he couldn’t break the formation. Looking back, it would nearly be an impossible task for him to get a similar mining shovel from Wanjie City.

Qi Tian didn’t have time to think further. He reached out to grab the mining shovel, but the runic chain was just too fast, out of his reach. Immediately, the Transporting Whirlwind shot out from the black hole, coiling towards the runic chain that had wrapped around the mining shovel.

Originally, the runic chain was embedded in the cave wall, Qi Tian had tried multiple experiments with the Heavenly Dao Engine, but every time, the Heavenly Dao Engine could not shake the runic chain. Qi Tian was out of options this time and had to resort to the Heavenly Dao Engine. Only if it could entangle the runic chain might he be able to think of something else.

An unexpected scene happened, several Transporting Whirlwinds acted like strong men, tightly restraining the runic chain, then dragged the runic chain and mining shovel towards the black hole in Qi Tian’s palm. In the blink of an eye, the front end of the runic chain was pulled into the black hole.

After the upgrade in Wanjie City, the power of the Heavenly Dao Engine was much greater than last time in the cave. One other reason was that the runic chain wasn’t embedded in the wall of the cave, it was fighting alone, lost all its advantages. This enabled the Transporting Whirlwind to succeed in one blow, dragging the runic chain to the edge of death.

The ink ribbon inside the protection shield trembled, many of the runic chains extending from it lit up, seemingly trying to share the dragging force of the Heavenly Dao engine, but this had hardly any effect.

The Heavenly Dao Engine seemed to have found the ink ribbon’s weakness. The front end of the runic chain was being slowly devoured by the Heavenly Dao Engine, and more and more of it was disappearing into the black hole.

Splash! The ink ribbon pulled out several more runic chains from the cave wall. They tangled like mad with the first runic chain being devoured by the black hole, forming an even bigger and stronger runic chain to resist the force of the Heavenly Dao Engine.
