Chapter 349 - 349 0265 Blood-sucking Tiger Demon_2

Chapter 349: Chapter 0265: Blood-sucking Tiger Demon_2 Chapter 349: Chapter 0265: Blood-sucking Tiger Demon_2 At this point in time, the two individuals at the Foundation Establishment Peak and the other six at the Foundation Establishment Stage were so exhausted that they slumped to the ground. They had been constantly channelling their True Essence just a while ago, leaving their bodies pretty much drained, feeling more fatigued than if they had just gotten out of an intense battle.

The Half-step Golden Core, due to the blood oath, no longer pressured the two at the Foundation Establishment Peak, nor the six at the Foundation Establishment Stage, instead, with a casual point of his hand, he once again ordered another cultivator at the Foundation Establishment Stage, “You, go open the coffin.”

The cultivator at the Foundation Establishment Stage had been hesitating whether to take advantage of the Half-step Golden Core’s engagement with removing the restrictions on the coffin and slip away. However, before he made up his mind, the Half-step Golden Core’s job was already done. He was immensely regretful now, questioning why he had such internal struggle when he could have just fled. But regret was of no use at this point; he could only step forward in fear toward the coffin.

Numerous images of the terrible fate that had befallen the others who had touched the coffin were still fresh in his mind, so he closed his eyes and reached out his hand.

To his great relief, no red light pulsed from the coffin and he was unharmed. “I’m alright, I’m alright,” he laughed nervously, relieved at having dodged a bullet.

Half-step Golden Core responded with chilling calm, “If you enjoy laughing, you can wait till later to do so. Now, will you help me open the lid of the coffin?”

The cultivator hastily held back his laughter, placed his hands on the coffin, and began to push with all his might.

The coffin’s lid had no nails, and despite being thick and large, probably weighing more than three thousand pounds, the coffin was manageable for a cultivator of the Foundation Establishment Stage. With a creaking sound, the lid which had not been moved for many years shifted, revealing a small crack in the previously seamless coffin.

Swish, a dense core of Spirit Qi, accompanied by a stale smell, bathed out from the coffin. Though slightly less potent than the Spirit Qi that had erupted from the mouth of the cave just now, it was still an incredibly rare source of Spirit Qi.

The cultivator at the Foundation Establishment Stage was the first to sense the Spirit Qi and his face changed immediately. Without waiting for orders from the Half-step Golden Core, he intended to continue pushing the coffin lid, hoping more Spirit Qi would rush out. He might not be able to claim other treasures, but surely he could absorb some dense Spirit Qi, right?

“Get lost.” Reality proved that the Foundation Establishment cultivator had over-thought it, and one of the cultivators at the Foundation Establishment Peak, who had previously agreed to help the Half-step Golden Core, rushed up and slapped him away.

Afterwards, the Foundation Establishment Peak cultivator replaced the Foundation Establishment stage cultivator’s place, pressing his hands on the heavy coffin lid. Utilizing all his strength, he pushed the lid completely open, revealing the contents inside the coffin.

Everyone quickly gathered around, curious to see what was inside the coffin. When they finally saw the object within, they all froze. The coffin did not contain a human body, but the corpse of an old tiger. The fur on its body was already dry and sparse, its frame collapsed, revealing a clear view of the bones underneath its worn-out skin.

This state of the old tiger was too pitiful and many started to wonder if it starved to death.

The crowd fell into a trance after seeing the old tiger in the coffin. They had imagined many possibilities, thinking that the coffin might contain a Gold Core Opportunity or at least priceless treasures. But, they never expected such a sight.

The Foundation Establishment Peak, who had opened the coffin, reached inside, he didn’t believe that the coffin only held a dried corpse of a tiger. He was certain that the coffin hid the opportunity for Core Formation. He intended to cast the tiger corpse aside and continue his search inside.

When the hand of the Foundation Establishment Peak reached into the coffin, the dried corpse of the tiger suddenly opened its eyes. With lightning-quick speed, it opened its mouth wide and bit the wrist of the Foundation Establishment Peak.

The Foundation Establishment Peak was taken aback. He lifted his hand in attempt to shake off the tiger, but its response was quite agile. Its body bounced from the coffin onto the Foundation Establishment Peak, tightly held him, then it released its bite from his wrist to his neck.

The Foundation Establishment Peak could only feel his blood gushing out from the wound, making his body weaker and weaker. He wanted to cry for rescue but even in the short span of time, he was unable to muster the strength to shout. “Help, help.”

With a loud thud, the Foundation Establishment Peak along with the tiger, fell to the ground. The tiger released its bite, lifted its head. At this time, its body was no longer shriveled, and the fur on its body had regained some of its gloss. There were two things about it which left a deep impression on everyone: fresh blood still dripping from its mouth and its grayish, dead-looking eyes.

“Attack, attack quickly,” the Half-step Golden Core shouted angrily.

The reaction of Half-step Golden Core wasn’t slow, but the tiger demon was faster. It pounced at another Foundation Establishment Peak in one swift leap, its speed was extraordinary, and its strength horrifying. With a single leap, it had knocked another Foundation Establishment Peak to the ground, opened its mouth to bite off his neck, and sucked almost all its blood with a powerful pull.

After that, the tiger demon acted as though it’s in an uninhabited territory. If it wasn’t for pouncing on one Foundation Establishment, it was biting off the neck of another. Its movements were agile and accurate with a horrifying speed. The more remarkable thing was its resilience. A simultaneous attack by the Half-step Golden Core and dozens of Foundation Establishment couldn’t make the tiger demon take a step back. Instead, as it drew more and more blood, its strength seemingly recovered and started to gain an obvious upper hand.

Half-step Golden Core, realizing the danger, turned and ran. The strength of the tiger demon was too strong. He had a strong suspicion that its power was not weaker than his. If he stayed any longer, the tiger demon would eventually pounce on him and drain his blood. This was something the Half-step Golden Core absolutely couldn’t accept. He had come down to this cave to find a chance for Core Formation, not to offer himself as a meal for the tiger demon.

With the departure of the Half-step Golden Core, the tiger demon was utterly unchecked. It either pounced on or fatally bit another. Very soon, it had slaughtered all of the Foundation Establishments. Without exception, all the Foundation Establishment were drained of their blood and died.

The tiger demon by this time had recovered significantly. Its body was five to six meters long, its shoulder height was over two meters, and the fur on its body had turned from gray to blood-red, giving off an unparalleled aura.

The Tiger Demon tilted its head and let out a satisfied roar, sniffed the air, and rushed towards an entrance in the cave, disappearing in no time.

Qi Tian came out of his hiding place, looked in the direction where the tiger demon had gone. He waved his hand, the Transporting Whirlwind flew out from his palm, and collected the bodies of all the recently dead Foundation Establishment. The tiger demon had not taken away their Storage Bags, so they all went to Qi Tian instead. In addition to this, Qi Tian collected the Array Disk and Array Flag left by the Half-step Golden Core, even that the coffin wasn’t left behind. He summoned the Transporting Whirlwind to carry it away, to be used as fuel for the Heavenly Dao Engine.

It didn’t take long for the cave to be completely void of any possessions. Qi Tian had reaped lavishly, but his face remained expressionless. He was still frightened by the incident he had escaped from. If it wasn’t for his “Heavenly Deception Skills”, he wouldn’t have been able to hide from the overly powerful tiger demon, let alone from the Half-step Golden Core.
