Li Ru Sen understood and made a gesture as if he was about to get up from the ground. Qi Tian glanced at him indifferently and said, “Did I say you could get up? What, do you need me to keep a stick on you to stay honest?”

The Nascent Soul Master quickly said, “Haven’t you already reconciled with our young master? It’s somewhat indecent to keep him lying on the ground in public for longer. Please show some mercy and allow him to stand up. Rest assured, we are not creating an opportunity for the young master to escape. We will certainly accomplish what we just promised you.”

Qi Tian gave a cold smile and said, “Just now, Li Ru Sen tried to kill me. I spared his life, which is already giving your Li family great face. Now he remains on the ground a bit longer—what about it? Do you think it’s because he’s acting like a shameless dog, losing face for your Li family?”

Li Ru Sen instantly turned red with embarrassment. Being forced by Qi Tian to remain lying on the ground had already humiliated him, and now Qi Tian’s direct comparison to a shameless dog was a great insult. He had lost not only his own face but the dignity of the entire Li family as well.

At this point, there was no way the Nascent Soul Master dared to procrastinate anymore. Knowing that the only way to save Li Ru Sen from further humiliation by Qi Tian was to quickly fulfill Qi Tian’s two conditions, he promptly started urging his team to action.

Qi Tian’s two conditions were one, to lift the blockade on Relay City, which was fairly easy to accomplish with a few Transmission Talismans; and two, to restore the operation of the Teleportation Array, which was a bit more troublesome. Luckily, Li Ru Sen and his cohort hadn’t sabotaged the Teleportation Array to break it but had merely removed the core component as a part. Now, they just needed to replace the core of the Teleportation Array as it was, followed by some minor repairs, and it would be functional again.

The two tasks were completed very quickly. In less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the Nascent Soul Master respectfully informed Qi Tian, “Sir, the Teleportation Array has been repaired, and the blockade over Relay City has been lifted. You can check it anytime.”

Qi Tian nodded and said, “I hope you did not tamper with the Teleportation Array again. If I find out, you won’t be able to bear the consequences. Everyone, what are you waiting for? The Teleportation Array is ready, and we should be on our way now.”

As Qi Tian spoke, he strode towards the direction of Relay City, the other cultivators quickly followed him, intentionally or unintentionally surrounding Qi Tian in the middle. This scene, witnessed by Li Ru Sen, made his complexion turn exceedingly ugly.

The Nascent Soul Master rushed over to help Li Rusen up.

Must we simply watch him leave Relay City and let him get away?”

The Nascent Soul Master replied, “Young master, Qi Tian’s reputation is now unexpectedly high. We currently lack the strength to suppress him. If young master seeks revenge, there is only one way, and that is to ask the ancestor to come out of seclusion. Only the ancestor has the power to command a following, and with his supreme strength, suppressing Qi Tian while keeping others from siding with him won’t be an issue.”

Li Rusen’s eyes shifted, and although he was reluctant to disturb his own patriarch, there was now only this path left for revenge. He was fortunate that the patriarch valued the Li family’s honor highly, and considering he was the patriarch’s most cherished descendant, without these factors, it wouldn’t have been possible to ask the ancestor to suppress Qi Tian.

What Li Rusen didn’t know was that the most fortunate thing wasn’t just that but the fact he had not chosen to attack Qi Tian immediately. Although Qi Tian had spared him, Qi Tian was not at all reassured by Li Rusen. While it was hard to say whether they could kill Li Rusen instantly, causing him significant harm was surely possible. Moreover, once the Transporting Whirlwinds entangled Li Rusen, Qi Tian could quickly return, easily regaining control over Li Rusen and letting him taste the agony of a fate worse than death once more.

As for how Li Rusen and his cohort planned their approach to Qi Tian, Qi Tian did not arrange for special surveillance on Li Rusen. Qi Tian could guess the strategies Li Rusen might devise, so he was not overly worried. If the Li family patriarch did not intervene, it was fine by him, but if Li Rusen indeed invited the Li family patriarch, then Qi Tian wouldn’t mind adding another Nascent Soul life to his hands. Unseen, Qi Tian had achieved a role reversal, taking over as the most influential person in Relay City from Li Rusen.

Concerned that Li Rusen had not restored the Teleportation Array to its original state, Qi Tian called several cultivators knowledgeable about Arrays to inspect it with him, ultimately confirming there were no flaws and it was safe for use.

Thus, Qi Tian began making arrangements. He chose not to be the first to leave but instead arranged for others to use the Teleportation Array before him. He did this fearing that if he left first, Li Rusen would take the opportunity during his absence to surround and take control of the entire Relay City again, coercing those cultivators who had not yet departed. Qi Tian made this decision not just out of concern for the other cultivators but more so to thwart Li Rusen’s plans.
