Chapter 1345: Chapter 0767: The Only Chance Chapter 1345: Chapter 0767: The Only Chance Chapter 0767: The Only Opportunity

When Qi Tian first led Emperor Jianwu and the others to explore the first Saint’s Tomb, he had a feeling that there was an extraordinary entity hidden within the coffin. Therefore, despite knowing there might be numerous treasures inside, he still made the unilateral decision to retreat from the Saint’s Tomb with Emperor Jianwu and the others. Qi Tian felt that he had been very cautious, but he didn’t realize that he had still underestimated the profound cultivation realm of the entity within the coffin.

Qi Tian felt a tingling on his scalp. With the power he currently wielded, dealing with one or two cultivators at the First Level of the Nascent Soul Stage wouldn’t pose any problem, and even facing one at the Second Level of Nascent Soul Stage wouldn’t be too difficult. However, the one climbing out of the coffin was definitely not limited to that—his cultivation realm must be much higher. This was way beyond the limit that Qi Tian could handle. Moreover, there was Zhao Deyi in the Inner Underground Palace, another opponent that Qi Tian could not afford to overlook. The Child Of Heavenly Selection was not to be taken lightly.

The first thing Qi Tian thought of was whether he should take advantage of the fact that Zhao Deyi had not discovered him yet and retreat from the Saint’s Tomb before him, to stay away from both Zhao Deyi and the entity in the coffin forever. It would be fairly easy for him to do so, without any problems, but after some thought, Qi Tian dismissed this plan. It might be easy for him to retreat, but in doing so, he would leave behind very serious aftermath. Not to mention the potential hazards it might create for the Imperial Family Secret Territory, but for himself—if he couldn’t eliminate Zhao Deyi this time, Zhao would definitely find a way to locate him and add countless troubles to him. If that entity from the coffin kept accompanying Zhao, it would not be easy for him to escape when they found Qi Tian like he did today.

The situation was perilous for Qi Tian, but from another perspective, this was also his last chance to eliminate both Zhao Deyi and the entity from the coffin at a relatively small cost. If he could seize this opportunity, not only would he be able to eradicate two big threats, but the benefits he would gain were self-evident—at the very least, he could obtain several more Nascent Soul-stage magical artifacts.

Qi Tian racked his brains to find a way to seize this once-in-a-lifetime chance and eliminate Zhao Deyi and the others at minimal cost. It was not an easy task for him and might not yield a good result even with all his effort, but he could only force himself to accomplish this seemingly impossible feat.

Soon, Qi Tian noticed a detail; after the Heavenly Dao Engine had scanned the Inner Underground Palace and fed him the three-dimensional holographic image, he spotted something noteworthy.

Zhao Deyi and the entity from the coffin were in close proximity; the two of them were both marked on the three-dimensional holographic image. Qi Tian initially only noticed that the brightness of the markers corresponding to the two individuals differed greatly, with Zhao Deyi’s appearing dimmer.

Qi Tian had noticed this before, but upon closer examination, he realized there was another difference apart from the brightness. The size of their corresponding markers was also different. Zhao Deyi’s marker was significantly larger, whereas the one from the coffin had a smaller marker. Although it appeared bright and seemingly large, upon closer inspection, many areas of the marker were blurred and lacked solidity, as if they could dissipate at any moment.

A thought struck Qi Tian: the solidity and size of the markers—did they hold a special significance? He had previously deduced a pattern: different brightness on the three-dimensional holographic image represented different strengths of Spirit Force fluctuations. When related to cultivators, it meant their cultivation realms differed in height. By this logic, the size of the markers must also hold some secrets he had yet to uncover.

Instinctively, Qi Tian thought of a possibility: could the size and solidity of the markers be related to the energy levels of the cultivators themselves? Abundant energy would mean larger and more solid markers, whereas insufficient energy would result in smaller and blurred markers.

If this was indeed the case, then the condition of the entity crawling out of the coffin warranted serious consideration.

The history of this Saint’s Tomb was extremely ancient, spanning at least several hundred years. A Nascent Soul Stage entity had been buried underground in the coffin for such a lengthy period, regardless of whether it was voluntary or not. With the passage of so much time, the energy contained within him would inevitably deplete, making it seem rather logical that his energy was now lacking.

Qi Tian didn’t know if his speculation was correct or not, but it was crucial, and he had to ascertain it first. Hence, he came up with a method to verify this: he once again used the Heavenly Dao Engine to scan the ghosts that followed him. Having a deep understanding of these ghosts, he compared their actual conditions to the newly scanned three-dimensional holographic images and found that as he had expected, the symbols reflecting the ghosts varied greatly on the image. The higher their cultivation realm and the more energy they contained, the brighter, larger, and more solid their corresponding markers appeared.
