Chapter 1344 - 1344 0766 Big Trouble Is Coming_2

Chapter 1344: Chapter 0766 Big Trouble Is Coming_2 Chapter 1344: Chapter 0766 Big Trouble Is Coming_2 In order to set these traps so Zhao Deyi wouldn’t discover them before they were triggered, Qi Tian had put in a great deal of effort. He had used some hidden arrays around the space gate, and had also arranged for Transporting Whirlwinds to lie in ambush. Besides that, he had put other measures in place as well.

To set up these traps, Qi Tian had spent a good half day’s time, and only then did he feel satisfied. After giving it some thought and not finding anything else that needed to be done, he left the vicinity of the space gate and began to search for traces of Zhao Deyi.

Qi Tian had originally hoped that the Lustrous Sand would release a dense fog to fill every corner of the core area, but the power of the Lustrous Sand was limited—it wasn’t able to do so, covering only about two-thirds of the core area. The remaining area was left untouched.

Qi Tian thought of a rather clever way to address the issue. He first searched in the area covered by the dense fog, hoping that he would find Zhao Deyi there and save himself a lot of trouble.

Within the area covered by the dense fog, Qi Tian cranked up the sensing functionality of the Heavenly Dao Engine to its limit. While flying through the air, he scanned the ground below, hoping to spot Zhao Deyi, but unfortunately, after searching for a long time and combing through the area engulfed by the fog, he still hadn’t found Zhao Deyi. This meant that Zhao Deyi was very likely hiding in that unfogged one-third of the area.

Qi Tian issued a command to the Lustrous Sand, instructing all the ghost faces to move out. They lined up along the outermost edge of the fog in a straight line, dividing the core area into the fog-covered part and the uncovered part. He then instructed the ghost faces to keep watch over the uncovered area, always on the lookout for Zhao Deyi. Afterwards, he had the Lustrous Sand gather back all the fog that had been released, and then, with the Lustrous Sand, he moved to the previously unfogged area. Upon his order, the Lustrous Sand released the fog once again, starting to envelop the area that had not been covered before.

Although the method was somewhat clumsy, it was the best solution Qi Tian could think of. After the fog was released again, Qi Tian began to search the new area, trying to figure out where Zhao Deyi was hiding.

This time, Qi Tian succeeded. He detected the fluctuation of spirit force released by Zhao Deyi, who was at that moment hiding inside a Saint’s Tomb, and it was unclear what he was doing.

Qi Tian was overjoyed. He hurried toward Zhao Deyi’s location and soon noticed that the direction he was heading in felt familiar—it seemed he had just been there not long ago. When he got closer, Qi Tian was shocked to find that the Saint’s Tomb Zhao Deyi used to hide in was the very first one he had excavated, which he had dug up so thoroughly that nothing was left behind. With so many Saint’s Tombs to choose from, why had Zhao Deyi picked this one? Could it be he thought Qi Tian would make the mistake of overlooking what’s right under his nose and not think of Zhao Deyi hiding here?

But then Qi Tian immediately remembered that although he had turned the Saint’s Tomb upside down, he hadn’t taken everything inside. There was at least one thing he had left behind—the coffin that was placed in the Inner Underground Palace.

At that time, Qi Tian had felt that the coffin was too dangerous as it seemed to be hiding something extremely perilous inside, and he had no confidence in subduing it. So he had abandoned the coffin, taking the other spoils and withdrawing from the Saint’s Tomb with Emperor Jianwu and the others. He had even specifically ordered people to seal the tomb entrance. But looking at the current situation, the rubble they had used to block the tomb entrance hadn’t stopped Zhao Deyi at all.

Qi Tian’s expression became more solemn. If Zhao Deyi had hidden in any other Saint’s Tomb, Qi Tian wouldn’t have been so anxious. But now that Zhao Deyi was hiding in this particularly eerie Saint’s Tomb, Qi Tian couldn’t shake the feeling that something beyond his control was about to happen, giving him no choice but to be more cautious.

Qi Tian first thought about whether to wait outside the Saint’s Tomb and catch Zhao Deyi by surprise. After all, Zhao Deyi would have to come out of the Saint’s Tomb eventually, and to do so, he would need to pass through the entrance. However, Qi Tian quickly abandoned this idea. The strategy of lying in wait seemed simple, but it required a very special prerequisite—that Zhao Deyi would definitely come out through this entrance—and this was something Qi Tian couldn’t guarantee. He remembered the time when he was exploring the second Saint’s Tomb, and Manager Chen’s hit had made the colormatching sand penetrate the tomb’s ceiling and fly outside. If the colormatching sand could have such an experience, how could he be certain that Zhao Deyi wouldn’t just punch a hole in the tomb’s ceiling and escape from there?

The possibility wasn’t non-existent, and it was actually quite high. Comparing his strength with Zhao Deyi, Qi Tian held no advantage. Although he had enough absolute strength to crush Zhao Deyi, Zhao held the advantage of speed, and this single advantage could render Qi Tian’s meaningless.

In order to restrain Zhao Deyi, Qi Tian could only choose a place for a decisive battle with Zhao, either wait at the entrance of the Saint’s Tomb, or abandon this tactic and enter the Saint’s Tomb once again, preferably the Inner Underground Palace, for a face-to-face showdown.

Inside the Inner Underground Palace, the limited space would greatly diminish Zhao Deyi’s advantage of speed. With the colormatching sand, Transporting Whirlwind, Ghost Face, and others by his side, Qi Tian could fully showcase his own advantages. He could even prevent Zhao Deyi from escaping through the ceiling, forcing him to continue battling.

In such a case, Qi Tian was fairly confident he could deal Zhao Deyi a heavy blow, and even had a certain chance of capturing him. This would be a very favorable option for him.

Qi Tian prepared to enter the Saint’s Tomb. He used the Heavenly Dao Engine’s spirit Qi sensing function once again to scan the situation inside the Inner Underground Palace. He quickly located Zhao Deyi and then searched for the coffin.

When Qi Tian saw the three-dimensional image feedback from the Heavenly Dao Engine, his face changed dramatically. The coffin was supposed to be one piece and should be roughly rectangular when presented in a three-dimensional image, but now it had changed, splitting in two. Part of it lay on the ground, a thinner rectangle, and the rest looked no different from the original coffin.

This scene immediately made Qi Tian think of a possibility—the lid of the coffin had been opened, and trouble was brewing, big trouble.

The next scene confirmed Qi Tian’s guess. After the coffin in the Inner Underground Palace was opened, several magical artifacts flew out and fell into Zhao Deyi’s hands. Zhao, upon obtaining these artifacts, laughed heartily. His laughter traveled directly outside the Saint’s Tomb and into Qi Tian’s ears.

This wasn’t enough to scare Qi Tian, but what followed was a creature with a humanoid shape, emitting intense spirit force fluctuations, sitting up from inside the coffin and then standing. It walked out of the coffin and stood on the floor of the Inner Underground Palace.

The spirit force fluctuations emitted by this humanoid creature were so intense that on the three-dimensional image, it manifested as a striking pattern, like a burning fire, unforgettable at a glance.

Qi Tian’s expression was dark as water. Such an anomaly on the three-dimensional image could only mean one thing—that the humanoid creature walking out of the coffin was extraordinary. It was not simply at the Nascent Soul Stage; it might even be a high-level existence in the Nascent Soul Stage. He couldn’t tell which phase of the Nascent Soul Stage it might be. If it were the initial phase, there was still hope for resistance for Qi Tian. If it were the middle or later phase, then no matter how many helpers Qi Tian had, confronting it would be tantamount to awaiting death.
