Qi Tian had no time to think further; the situation before him was so urgent that he couldn’t afford to waste time weighing the pros and cons of his actions. His first reaction was to open his palm, activate the black hole in his center, and release all the Transporting Whirlwinds one after another. Under Qi Tian’s command, they rushed towards the Millennium Corpse Water together.
This Millennium Corpse Water was extremely formidable, so much so that any cultivator who encountered it would go out of their way to avoid it at all costs. However, to the Transporting Whirlwinds, this Millennium Corpse Water posed no threat at all.
When the Transporting Whirlwinds made contact with the Millennium Corpse Water, the water was swept up, forming a spiraling Water Tornado that hovered above the heads of Emperor Jianwu and his company.
Emperor Jianwu and the others had almost been scared to death, thinking that today they might very well lose their lives here, but they never expected someone to save them at this critical moment.
Emperor Jianwu glanced in Qi Tian’s direction and, upon realizing that it was Qi Tian who had saved them, he rejoiced and loudly exclaimed, “Everyone, Master Qi is here, it’s Master Qi who saved us. I remind you all to be careful. Our immediate disaster may be averted, but we cannot let our guard down now. We must not allow the puppets to take advantage of us. Let’s put in more effort, we must destroy these puppets in the shortest time possible. We can’t afford to become a laughing stock in front of Master Qi.”
Emperor Jianwu’s warning came at a critical moment. Just now, everyone was facing imminent disaster, and with Millennium Corpse Water no longer a threat, their tightly wound nerves had relaxed, to the point where they were oblivious to the threat the puppets posed right under their noses. Luckily, Emperor Jianwu’s timely reminder prevented an irrecoverable loss; otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable.
While controlling the Millennium Corpse Water with the Transporting Whirlwind, Qi Tian said to Emperor Yonghe, “You go over and help quickly, take care of all the puppets as soon as possible, and I’ll find a way to deal with this Millennium Corpse Water.”
Emperor Yonghe promptly replied, “Master Qi, you must be extremely careful. Millennium Corpse Water is highly venomous, even a slight touch can have severe consequences. Moreover, from what I understand, its corrosive power is incredibly potent, and ordinary artifacts made from common materials simply cannot contain it. You must be extra cautious until you find an effective solution, and you cannot afford to be careless.”
Qi Tian waved his hand, urging Emperor Yonghe to quickly assist Emperor Jianwu and the others. Then, he continued to control the Transporting Whirlwind, wrapping the Millennium Corpse Water, and began to move along the tomb passage outwards. Qi Tian knew a lot about the properties of Millennium Corpse Water, recognizing that it was untouchable. Not to mention using a common container, even some ordinary spells were unable to handle the water.
In a sense, Qi Tian was like someone holding a bomb that could explode at any moment—an improper handling of the situation could bring extremely serious consequences.
Qi Tian’s first thought was to find a place where he wouldn’t be affected, to dispose of the Millennium Corpse Water. To put it bluntly, he wanted to find a hole and dump all the Millennium Corpse Water into it, then let it rot away on its own.
However, Qi Tian soon realized this notion was impossible to achieve. The Millennium Corpse Water seemed as if it were under a spell. Initially, Qi Tian could carry it away using the Transporting Whirlwind, but after he moved about seven or eight meters from the burial chamber door from which the water was expelled, he discovered that the water seemed to be under a binding spell. No matter how hard he tried using the Transporting Whirlwind, the Millennium Corpse Water simply refused to budge.
Qi Tian didn’t take this seriously at first, but after several unsuccessful attempts, he had to confront the situation head-on.
Qi Tian recalled a common magical formation in the Cultivation World that could restrict certain objects to a specific area of movement. To put it simply, it was like tying a dog to a chain, no matter how fierce the dog might be, its range of movement depended entirely on the length of the chain. Should the dog try to venture beyond the maximum length, no amount of struggling would set it free. The dog’s range had been predetermined from the start.
It was very likely that someone had limited the maximum range of movement for this Millennium Corpse Water. If it went beyond this range, no effort by anyone else could take it elsewhere. The only alternatives were either to move the other end of the dog chain or to extend the length of the chain. But for that, one would need to understand its material and other properties. For Qi Tian at the moment, this meant he needed to comprehend the magical formation that restricted the water’s movement and also needed to be able to access it. But the problem was that Qi Tian couldn’t do that.
Qi Tian thought back to his initial entry into the Saint’s Tomb, to the outer burial chamber door he encountered with a ghastly face on it. That ghastly face had its range of movement restricted, only able to operate above the door. Had it been able to leave the door, it would never have fallen into Qi Tian’s hands.
