Chapter 1183: Chapter 0687: Millennium Corpse Water_1 Chapter 1183: Chapter 0687: Millennium Corpse Water_1 Chapter 0687: Millennium Corpse Water

Just as Qi Tian and Emperor Yonghe were exchanging words, a cacophony of battle cries and explosive noises erupted in the distance, creating a lively and chaotic soundscape.

Emperor Yonghe hurriedly said, “Master Qi, it must be Emperor Jianwu and the others reaching the climax of their battle. Should we go over and take a look?”

Qi Tian nodded and then led the way towards the source of the noise. Emperor Yonghe quickly called over a subordinate, gave a couple of rapid orders, and then hastened to follow Qi Tian.

The entire underground palace was massive, covering at least thirty acres. Entering from where the tomb passage intersected with the palace, a wall greeted them. Walking along the wall to either side, new tomb passages stretched out.

As Qi Tian and Emperor Yonghe proceeded down the tomb passage, they occasionally saw fresh bloodstains on the ground and on the walls, as well as chilling corpses. The deceased were dressed in various royal attires; they must have been subordinates of the five Princes who lost their lives while clearing the passages.

Qi Tian might not have known the names of these fallen cultivators, but he recognized the faces of each one, remembered their realms of cultivation while they were alive, and knew their strengths.

Seeing them turned into cold corpses, Qi Tian couldn’t help but sigh. Among the dead cultivators were not a few high-stage Gold Core Realm powerhouses, yet they still perished here, which showed just how treacherous exploring the Saint’s Tomb was.

Qi Tian felt fortunate that he had not ventured in alone. Had he not turned Emperor Jianwu and the other Princes into Immortal Slaves, he would not have been able to gather so many Gold Core Realm cultivators to enter with him. Without them, he might not even have managed to enter the Saint’s Tomb, let alone clear the tomb passage singlehandedly.

While Qi Tian was reflecting, Emperor Yonghe, who had entered other Saint’s Tombs more than once, occasionally revealed awe and fear in his eyes upon seeing the corpses of Gold Core Realm powerhouses strewn on the ground.

This Saint’s Tomb was undoubtedly the most dangerous one he had ever encountered in his life. If it weren’t for the alliance between Yonghe Palace and the other four royal palaces, and more importantly, if it weren’t for Qi Tian leading them in, just his Yonghe Palace’s men alone would probably have been annihilated by now, leaving no survivors.

To distract himself from the dreariness of seeing the corpses of his fallen comrades, Qi Tian struck up a conversation with Emperor Yonghe, “Emperor Yonghe, why didn’t you join Emperor Jianwu and the others in clearing the tomb passages, instead of staying at the entrance of the underground palace?”

Worried that Qi Tian might think he was cowardly, Emperor Yonghe hastily explained, “Master Qi, we drew lots to decide our roles. I had bad luck and drew the lot that required me to stay at the entrance of the underground palace, so I had to stay there. Master Qi, if I had a choice, I would have preferred to go inside for scouting. You don’t know how boring it was to guard the entrance, barely anything to do, let alone find any opportunities. I’ve been squatting there for half a day and came up with nothing. Master Qi, could I trouble you with something? When we see Emperor Jianwu and the others later, could you speak to them for me? Ask them to let me have a turn inside. Let me trek through the palace, expand my horizons, maybe gain something. After all the trouble it took to follow you into the Saint’s Tomb, I shouldn’t leave empty-handed, right?”

As Qi Tian and Emperor Yonghe casually chatted, they soon reached the depths of the underground palace, where they saw Emperor Jianwu and the others finishing their clearing work.

The scene was chaotic. Emperor Jianwu, Emperor Bahuang, Huoyang Emperor, and Emperor Wenzhi—a total of four Princes—were leading several dozen Gold Core Realm cultivators in a struggle against a group of puppets in a cramped tomb passage.

These puppets were incredibly powerful; each possessed a cultivation realm no less than 4th Level of the Gold Core Stage. A few of the highest-ranked puppets had even reached the Gold Core Realm Peak. Each puppet’s combat power was undeniably formidable. Indifferent to injury and tireless, they unleashed powerful techniques naturally, fluidly, showcasing a level of combat strength comparable to Gold Core Realm cultivators.

Fighting such a group of puppets, Emperor Jianwu and his group could barely gain any advantage. Fortunately, none of them were pushovers. They had the advantage of numbers, and with the aid of Liuli Sand, their struggle against the Gold Core Realm puppets was tough. However, from start to finish, they maintained the upper hand and continuously widened their advantage over the puppets. Following this trend, given a bit more time, they would undoubtedly prevail in this battle.

The development unfolded just as Qi Tian had anticipated. As time drew on, the advantages held by Emperor Jianwu’s side became increasingly apparent, and their victories grew larger. Only a few more minutes were needed to completely annihilate the puppets.
