Chapter 1176: Chapter 0683: Cleverly Killing a Strong Enemy_2 Chapter 1176: Chapter 0683: Cleverly Killing a Strong Enemy_2 Pan’s move had immediately thrown off Qi Tian.

The flying sword that Pan used was his own, while the one Qi Tian was using belonged to Zhou Ping; he had yet to refine Zhou Ping’s flying sword and could only barely control it, unable to maximize the sword’s speed. That created a rather noticeable difference between the speeds of the two swords. During their earlier skirmish, this disparity hadn’t been obvious, but now, with one in pursuit and the other fleeing, the gap between them quickly widened.

Qi Tian knew that he could not let Pan escape no matter what; if Pan got away and informed Manager Chen about the situation here, it might even bring Manager Chen himself over. Qi Tian currently didn’t have an ounce of confidence that he could defeat Manager Chen, not even with the help of the Liuli Sand.

Although Manager Chen might be occupied digesting his so-called fortuitous opportunity, no one could guarantee that he wouldn’t come over personally. And even if he didn’t come himself, if he sent four or five people, in addition to Pan, and they prepared in advance, Qi Tian feared he wouldn’t stand much of a chance against them in battle.

At this moment, the best course of action was to stop Pan. While this wouldn’t completely eliminate the risk of drawing Manager Chen himself over, it would push back the timing as much as possible. Just like the time it took after Qi Tian killed Shen Ziyu; it had been two or three days before Manager Chen sent people. Perhaps killing Pan could buy him another couple of days.

Watching Pan fly farther and farther away, Qi Tian came up with a plan in his desperation. He knew why he couldn’t catch up with Pan—the speed of the flying sword beneath his feet was inadequate. If the flying sword itself wasn’t fast enough, why not just accelerate it?

Qi Tian immediately issued a few new commands to the Liuli Sand. One was for it to continuously release more black fog to delay Pan’s escape from the fog as much as possible. The other was for the Liuli Sand to expel a grain of sand and then transform it into a sandstorm that blew fiercely from behind Qi Tian, thus accelerating the flying sword’s speed.

The Liuli Sand began executing Qi Tian’s commands without hesitation. In its current small sandstorm form, it separated a small part of itself which quickly turned into a gust of yellow sand, flew beneath Qi Tian, and lifted both the sword and its rider. The speed of the flying sword visibly soared in an instant, and soon, Qi Tian not only caught up with Pan but began to overtake him.

Meanwhile, the Liuli Sand did not stop pursuing Pan. It maintained a constant distance from him, controlling the black fog at all times to envelop Pan and prevent him from breaking free.

The two commands Qi Tian had given were both timely and accurate, and with the sandstorm’s boost, he rapidly closed the gap with Pan.

From the moment Pan resolved to flee to when Qi Tian caught up, not much time had passed, perhaps not even thirty seconds. Yet in that brief half-minute, Pan had managed to distance himself quite significantly.

If Pan hadn’t deviated in his chosen direction, he would likely have reached the area where they set up the restrictions and formations by now, gaining support, and leaving Qi Tian in trouble.

As the night got longer and more dreams arose, Qi Tian dared not let Pan continue to scuttle mindlessly like a headless fly. He raised his palm toward Pan, the black hole in his palm opened, and all the Transporting Whirlwinds flew out at once, rushing toward Pan like a swarm of bees buzzing out of their nest.

Simultaneously, the Liuli Sand received a new command from Qi Tian and rapidly shot out dozens of grains of sand. These grains didn’t fly straight as before but formed something like a sand wheel that spun rapidly in the air before speeding toward Pan’s direction.

The sand wheel, formed by the yellow sand and arriving before the Transporting Whirlwind, struck the protective layer formed by Pan’s armor.

The protective layer wasn’t in a perfect spherical shape; instead, it more closely resembled an egg or an American football, bulging in the middle with pointed ends. This design conserved the maximum amount of energy on the armor while providing complete protection to its wearer, a solution that killed two birds with one stone. In the Cultivation World, the majority of cultivators’ armor would form a protective layer of this shape, which had essentially become a standard design.

In ordinary circumstances, this shape presented no issues, but now, in Qi Tian’s eyes, it was an exploitable weakness.

Under Qi Tian’s command, a wheel of glaze sand shot out and began spinning rapidly in the air, slamming into the protective layer formed by the armor. Composed of multiple grains of yellow sand, each grain carried an astonishing amount of power. When they coalesced, it could only be imagined just how powerful this sand wheel was.

Just now, several grains of yellow sand had struck the same spot repeatedly without breaking through the protective layer; however, now, as the sand wheel swiftly rotated and cut onto the surface of the layer, the protective layer was like a hard piece of wood meeting the wheel, and in the blink of an eye, it was sliced open.

Even more horrifying for Pan was the fact that the sand wheel’s chosen point of entry was incredibly tricky—it was precisely at the most pointed part of the football shape. This area had a much smaller surface, and before Pan could react, the sand wheel had completely severed one pointed end of the protective layer. The Transporting Whirlwind immediately swept away the severed piece.

Subsequently, a dark fog continuously poured in through the gap, rapidly infiltrating the protective layer. The influx of the dark fog turned Pan blind, rendering him unable to sense any of his surroundings.

Internally exclaiming “This is bad,” Pan was about to think of a countermeasure to deal with the current situation when the sand wheel moved again. Under the cover of the black fog, it charged directly into the protective layer and hit Pan’s head squarely, instantaneously blasting his head open.

The blood mist generated from the explosion of the head was also immediately swept away by the Transporting Whirlwind, leaving not a single drop of blood behind.

Like Zhou Ping who had died at the beginning, Pan, without a head, died on the spot, lost control of his flying sword, and heavily crashed down to the ground from the sky.

Having eliminated Pan, Qi Tian breathed a sigh of relief. First, he retracted the glaze sand back into the Spirit Beast Bracelet, then he descended to the ground, collected Pan’s body, and took all the various items Pan carried as his trophies without exception.

After cleaning up the scene, Qi Tian rode his flying sword once again towards the Saint’s Tomb.

Emperor Jianwu and his party all emerged from the Saint’s Tomb. Although they had not participated in the battle between Qi Tian and Pan and the others, they had witnessed all of Qi Tian’s combat, including how he ultimately killed Pan.

They had nothing but admiration for the shocking methods displayed by Qi Tian. The deaths of Pan, Zhou Ping, and Ma Deru, all of whom were far stronger than them, instilled a profound sense of awe for Qi Tian in their hearts.

When Qi Tian descended from the sky, Emperor Jianwu and his entourage lined up and bowed deeply to Qi Tian, saying respectfully, “Welcome back victorious, Master Qi.”

Qi Tian nodded and replied, “That one named Ma Deru, his body is still on the ground. You go collect it for me. Also, I must focus on recovery. Unless it’s something important, do not disturb me.”
