Chapter 200 - 193: Sun Wukong Overpowers Cang Yang
Chapter 200: Chapter 193: Sun Wukong Overpowers Cang Yang
The poem says:
The Buddha Beating Staff’s fierce might is hard to withstand, the Great Seal breaks the spine.
Little did I know the Green Emperor could command one’s fate, the false Buddha meets his end at this very moment.
As the tale goes, Wukong and Tsangyang Gyatso engaged in fierce combat. Seizing the opportunity while Tsangyang Gyatso was using the Seven-Colored Divine Light to envelop the heavens and earth, Wukong attempted to slay him with a single stroke of the Immortal-Slaying Divine Sword. However, Wukong, being alert, quickly brandished the derived meditation mat of Xuan Ming, narrowly escaping disaster.
This time Tsangyang Gyatso, seeing he could not harm Wukong even after repeatedly wielding the Immortal-Slaying Divine Sword, sheathed the sword and decided to grapple with Wukong. Wukong, eager to deliver Xuan Ming’s corpse to the Reincarnation Netherworld, was impatient and wished to quickly dispose of Tsangyang Gyatso.
In a flash, the Heaven-Defying Taoist quietly emerged and slipped into the mist, eluding Tsangyang Gyatso’s detection. He dared not take Heaven-Defying Taoist along with Xuan Ming’s body, fearing interception halfway, which would be most troublesome. Moreover, once separated, Wukong’s greatest combat strength would not be utilized.
The Heaven-Defying Taoist was currently holding both the Sun-Shooting Bow and Sun-Shooting Arrow, two Magical Treasures. He watched for the right moment to release a surprise shot.
Tsangyang Gyatso, utterly oblivious, chanted spells, and all five of his past incarnations shouted in unison. An array of Esoteric Sect Dharma Seals was cast, filling the sky with palm imprints.
"Great Revolution Seal, to revolutionize the world!" Wukong softly chanted, raising the Great Revolution Seal. The will of revolution descended heavily, crushing those Palm Seals into powder.
Then, Tsangyang Gyatso formed the Great Lion Seal, with his five past incarnations simultaneously forming the same seal, unleashing six huge golden lions that pounced, bellowing with wide-open jaws, discharging golden Buddha Light and dyeing the void a golden ocean. Wukong swung the Buddha Beating Staff effortlessly, repelling the golden rays and then, with a tremble of the World-Cleansing Dust Whisk, countered with the Seven-Colored Divine Light, holding off the golden light emanating from the Lion Seals.
Wukong roared, leaping forward to strike at Tsangyang Gyatso.
The five incarnations were merely Tsangyang Gyatso’s past bodies, already fused into his magical artefacts, immune to beating. To catch the brigand, one must capture the king; to win, Wukong needed to slay Tsangyang Gyatso!
One of Tsangyang Gyatso’s past incarnations, Gedun Gyatso, stood in the way, palms joined, chanting a spell of Immeasurable Light and Immeasurable Life. A radiant light shone brightly as a Great Buddha materialized, delivering a palm strike with the breadth of a thousand miles! Wukong whispered fiercely, "The universe is vast, only I, the Victorious Fighting Buddha, illuminate all directions!"
Behind Wukong, the Victorious Fighting Buddha manifested, resplendent with jeweled radiance and dignified in its magnificence, meeting the Great Buddha’s palm with his own.
"Boom!"
Their palms collided, emitting a thunderous blast, beneath their feet, the mountain cracked with a crisp snap, and fissures spread. It could no longer withstand such tremendous force, and it burst apart, turning to dust, blown about in the wind like a sandstorm.
Struck by this palm, Gedun Gyatso’s Immeasurable Great Buddha collapsed. The past incarnation was thrown back as the Victorious Fighting Buddha formed the Treasure Vase Seal, a massive treasure vase emerging from the void to suppress Tsangyang Gyatso overhead!
Tsangyang Gyatso’s expression shifted as he exclaimed in alarm, "You’ve actually grasped the great path of Buddhist Law and condensed the True Buddha Dharma Body! As fellow disciples of Buddhism, why oppose my Buddhist Sect? Why not reconcile and together confront the Taoist Sect?"
Wukong sneered, "Buddhism was originally part of the Tao. If not for the Taoist Patriarch Hong Jun enlightening Zhun Ti and Jie Yin, where would your Western Buddhist monks be? If not for Laozi capturing Duobao and guiding him to the west through Hangu Pass, where would your Buddhist glory be? You drink the water but forget its source, repaying kindness with enmity! You have all played me, Sun Wukong, like fools, thus this great vendetta must be repaid in blood, compensated with life! I will extinguish the Buddhist Sect with my own hands, and then I shall show you what true Buddhism is!"
Without pausing in speech, Wukong’s hands moved even faster, forming the Treasure Wheel Seal, unleashing a massive Dharma Wheel to strike down.
Tsangyang Gyatso cried out in shock as the Buddha Beads flew before him, and all five past incarnations shouted, forming the Immovable Fundamental Seal, invoking the Immovable King.
With the emergence of the Immovable King Dharma Body, Karmic Fire blazed. But Wukong declared, "I have already attained complete understanding in reincarnation, enlightening my Buddha Heart and attaining Nirvana countless times. Your Karmic Fire cannot burn me! As the Victorious Fighting Buddha, in this vast universe, there is no one I cannot defeat, no entity I cannot overcome. Even if the true form of the Immovable King descends, I would not fear, let alone a Dharma Body."
The Five Ming Kings, portrayed by the Buddhist Sect akin to the Wheel-Turning Sage Kings, were relatively easier to refine compared to the Sage Kings. Tathagata had created the incarnations of the Five Ming Kings to rein slay malice and entrust it in them. However, having once split a Duobao into a new identity, attempting another malice slaying was now ten times harder than before. Back then, under the Bodhi Tree, he endured the Karmic Fire for five hundred years to slay malice, how about now? A thousand years, perhaps?
"Slay!"
The Victorious Fighting Buddha uttered a light shout; even Buddha Ancestor could become a Wrathful Vajra, subduing demons and vanquishing all evils. It was rare for the Buddha Ancestor to become enraged, but once He did, rivers ran red with blood, and the killing intent soared to the heavens.
The will to fight and emerge victorious displayed by the Victorious Fighting Buddha was alarmingly forceful, seeming invincible, as though even if Mount Tai stood before Him, He would smash it to dust with a single punch! This was Wukong’s path, with an invincible heart, comes natural invincibility! The strength of the heart is the true measure of power!
What are grand vows for if not to strengthen one’s own spirit?
"Bang!"
Five Dharmakayas of the past made their move together to block, various Buddhist Esoteric Sect Dharma Seals fell, causing the void to tremble chaotically. Mountain after mountain crumbled into dust, scattering across the sky, turning the area within a hundred miles white as if a heavy fog had risen, the limestone falling like a silver coating, resembling a night of winter snow.
The Victorious Fighting Buddha threw a punch which shattered numerous palm prints. Wukong swept with his staff, sending the five Dharmakayas of the past tumbling away. Wukong was well aware that these five Dharmakayas couldn’t be killed.
"Swoosh!"
A sharp, piercing sound came through, and then a golden light mixed with blood fell, tearing a long gash into the void. Shortly after, it split into three strands of Pure Qi, shooting towards Tsangyang Gyatso’s third eye, throat, and groin.
Tsangyang Gyatso was greatly shocked; the arrows came unexpectedly, forcing him to flick his sleeve, attempting to catch them with the spell "Universe in the Sleeve." However, his spell was not as expertly honed as Zhun Ti’s, and when the three strands of Pure Qi struck, his defensive spell was instantly torn apart, scattering like ripped cloth in the sky. Fortunately, it still managed to block the attack.
Before he could catch his breath, another streak of golden light shot towards him. One after another, before he could see them clearly, several more streaks of golden light followed, each more fierce and ruthless than the last, the killing aura growing increasingly dense, like a layer of oily film upon the surface of a lake.
Wukong and the Victorious Fighting Buddha worked together to beat the five Dharmakayas of the past, breaking them apart and then seeing them reassemble, only to be broken again.
"Treasure, please turn around!" Tsangyang Gyatso summoned the Demon-Slaying God-Chopping Saber, and with it hundreds of cold lights flew out, intertwining with the golden lights in a deadly dance.
But Wukong simply tossed the Origin-Forming Cushion in his hand, a large bundle of golden light fell, enveloping all of the cold lights before resisting them.
Tsangyang Gyatso then brought forth a Treasure Pagoda, which was struck by three arrows in succession, exploding into fireworks in the sky. He gasped in pain but knowing that his life was of the utmost importance, he had no choice but to deploy his Magical Treasure as if his life depended on it.
"Boom!"
Wukong seized the moment to strike Tsangyang Gyatso in the chest with his staff. The impact sent him tumbling backward, spitting blood, his breastbone shattered, his flesh burst open.
"Haha, haha! Tsangyang Gyatso, today I will surely send you to the Deification Platform," Wukong roared, unleashing the Buddhist Lion’s Roar, which suddenly rose and stunned Tsangyang Gyatso’s Primordial Spirit.
Having already been hit by a staff, and now suddenly shaken by the Buddhist Lion’s Roar, his Primordial Spirit rigidified, unable to circulate Mana. Wukong rushed forward, bringing his staff down onto the top of his head!
"Treasure, please turn around!" Tsangyang Gyatso exerted all his strength to summon the Demon-Slaying God-Chopping Saber. As long as he could save his life, he didn’t aim to keep Wukong back.
Thousands of saber Qi burst forth, startling Wukong. Desperate, Tsangyang Gyatso might do anything. Wukong swiftly stepped back repeatedly through the void, with the Origin-Forming Cushion flying to the front to guard him which finally brought him to safety.
Tsangyang Gyatso dared not linger, collected his Buddha Beads, and tried to escape. Only a few steps into his escape, the Heaven-Defying Taoist suddenly burst forth, dropping down the Great Mountains and Rivers Seal.
"Rumble!"
Tsangyang Gyatso was struck and sent flying, his Primordial Spirit trembling and in extreme pain, seeing stars before his eyes.
As for whether Tsangyang Gyatso was alive, please listen to the next part to find out. (To be continued. If you like this work, please come to Qidian (qidian.com) to cast your recommendation vote and monthly ticket. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please read on m.qidian.com.)
