Chapter 198 - 191: Esoteric Sect Sends Someone to Intercept Wukong

Chapter 198: Chapter 191: Esoteric Sect Sends Someone to Intercept Wukong

Wukong and Xuan Ming sought to bring their last reincarnation cycle to perfection, but their hearts were filled with longing, and they found it hard to adapt to such mundane lives. When Wukong candidly expressed his aspirations, it dampened the mood for both of them. Indeed, Wukong had a shockingly low emotional quotient and was quite rigid when it came to matters of the heart.

Wukong then nodded and said, "Alright, I’ll wait outside for you. Come out as soon as you can."

Xuan Ming replied, "Mm, go ahead."

With a somersault, Wukong leaped into the six-colored spinning wheel and left the world of reincarnations.

The Reincarnation Pool was watched over by a Yin God who, upon seeing Wukong emerge, hurried off to report to Di Jiang.

"What? He came out alone? Did Lady Pingxin not come out with him?" Unable to hold back his frustration, Di Jiang slammed the stone table with his hand, shattering it into pieces.

"Reporting to Ancestral Witch... indeed, he came out alone," stammered the terrified Yin God, not daring to breathe too loudly.

Di Jiang flew into a rage, swept up his sleeves, and strode towards the Reincarnation Pool.

Seeing Wukong by the pool from afar, Di Jiang couldn’t help but curse as he walked, "You reckless monkey, you went in but didn’t bring my sister out? You betrayed her devotion. Today, if I don’t show you the might of an Ancestral Witch and make you realize we’re not to be trifled with..."

Wukong hurriedly replied, "Wait, Ancestral Witch Di Jiang! Xuan Ming is still within the world of reincarnations, refining it. She’ll be out shortly."

Di Jiang, half-convinced, lowered his raised palm and said, "Oh! If you’re deceiving me, I’ll beat you to death."

Wukong grimaced inwardly. He wasn’t afraid of fighting Di Jiang, but after all, he was his uncle-in-law, how could he strike him?

"I’ll fetch Xuan Ming’s physical body. Please wait a moment, Ancestral Witch," said Wukong.

"You’re not planning to run away, are you?" Di Jiang barked angrily.

"Am I that kind of person?" Wukong responded.

Worried and confused, Di Jiang paused for a moment before ordering, "Go quickly and come back quickly!"

Wukong smiled and replied, "I’m well aware."

With those words, he performed a somersault and headed towards Water Curtain Cave.

Meanwhile, Xuan Ming’s six True Spirits had thoroughly merged into one, and she sought to integrate the entire world of reincarnation into a single entity. By doing so, she would fully control reincarnation, freely allocate the merit accumulated therein, and manipulate the boundless karmic force within the world of reincarnation. Naturally, her mana would increase manifold. It was truly a blessing in disguise; walking through the valley of death, now she found a great fortune.

Xuan Ming held the six-colored great wheel in her palm, where True Fire surged and began to refine it.

Soon, she melted the wheel into six colored liquids, which she then drew in with a breath, swallowing them whole. As mana circulated within her, the liquid spread throughout her body, and an unusual power began to emerge. A faint shimmer of six lights glinted in Xuan Ming’s eyes.

"Reincarnation Eyes, one look and you’re in reincarnation," Xuan Ming whispered softly.

She had realized a new divine skill, named Reincarnation Eyes. With just one glance, she could afflict someone with karmic force, dragging them into the Six Paths of Reincarnation, erasing their past life memories, and causing them to be reborn. Alternatively, she could use the karmic force to pull them into the world of reincarnation, forever lost within.

Now, Xuan Ming was the world of reincarnation, and the world of reincarnation was Xuan Ming!

On this day, Lu Ya, the Taoist, suddenly felt an impulse. After calculating, he was slightly taken aback and immediately sent a message to the Great Sun Tathagata, "Xuan Ming has been resurrected. Sun Wukong has gone to retrieve her physical body at Water Curtain Cave. Send someone to intercept him. We must not allow her to regain her original body, for if she does, her mana will increase several folds! Should a confrontation arise, she will prove to be a tough adversary."

The Great Sun Tathagata opened his eyes abruptly and, after making his own calculations, understood the situation completely.

"Buddha Ancestor, what is the matter?" Tsangyang Gyatso suddenly inquired.

Tsangyang Gyatso, a Vajrayana Mage and a formidable expert, mastered the art of reincarnation; reincarnating once every hundred years, he had already been reborn six times. In this incarnation, he was known as Tsangyang Gyatso. He had forged this unique path through his research—an exception among men. Now, with six lifetimes of reincarnations, Tsangyang Gyatso’s mana had reached the Primordial Golden Immortal Realm.

In the pursuit of cultivation, one must forge one’s own path, or else one would remain nothing more than a Taiyi Golden Immortal for all eternity.

Great Sun Tathagata said, "Tsangyang Gyatso, go to Water Curtain Cave and silently follow Sun Wukong after he obtains the body of Xuan Ming. Under no circumstances can you allow him to bring that body into the Reincarnation Netherworld."

Having received the decree of the Great Sun Tathagata, Tsangyang Gyatso responded, "I shall depart immediately."

Great Sun Tathagata said, "Wait."

Tsangyang Gyatso asked, "Buddha Ancestor, is there anything else you wish to instruct?"

Great Sun Tathagata intended to divine the auspiciousness and peril of the journey but Wukong possessed the Hongmeng Purple Qi and also held tremendous merit for mending the heavens. This divination was thus quite obscure and he could not determine the outcome. Feeling a sense of unease, he suddenly saw a gourd flying in from outside the palace. This gourd, cast from white jade, felt cool to the touch and provided a soothing comfort.

"Take this Slaying Immortal Slaying God Treasure Blade with you, just in case, and make sure to seize that body!" Great Sun Tathagata commanded.

The body of Xuan Ming, formed from Pangu’s Turbid Qi, was extremely firm. Even the Slaying Immortal Slaying God Treasure Blade could not cut through it—most likely, nothing less than the Slaying Immortal Sword belonging to the Tong Tian Sect Master would suffice. Yet even if it was chopped into mincemeat, it would reassemble itself—such was the miraculous nature of an Ancestral Witch’s body. However, since Xuan Ming had already attained sainthood, his current fatal weakness lay in his Primordial Spirit. By seizing this body, Xuan Ming would be unable to unify his Primordial Spirit and body, forcing him to recreate his physical form. In so doing, his mana would greatly diminish, and even if he were to fuse Reincarnation into his being, it was unlikely he would be much more powerful than before.

A Saint ought not to intervene lightly, but if they captured the body and hid it inside the Slaying Immortal Slaying God Treasure Blade, even if Sun Wukong and his companions knocked on the door, they would be unable to find it!

Nowadays, there were not many masters of the Esoteric Sect because it was established 30,000 years later than the Exoteric Sect. There was only Tsangyang Gyatso, a solitary Primordial Golden Immortal of the sect. Great Sun Tathagata, meanwhile, lacked additional helping hands. Of course, Daluo Golden Immortal masters were viable choices, but without powerful magical treasures, they were merely insignificant pests in the presence of a Primordial Golden Immortal.

Tsangyang Gyatso was overjoyed, knowing the power of the Slaying Immortal Slaying God Treasure Blade. By merely whispering the words, "Treasure, please turn around," there was nothing it could not kill, nothing it could not sever. With a flash of white light, heads would fly, and the target’s Primordial Spirit would be sealed within the gourd.

Since Lu Ya became a Saint, he naturally re-cultivated the Slaying Immortal Slaying God Treasure Blade from scratch, making it hundreds of times more formidable than before. During the Investiture of the Gods Period, even as a Daluo Golden Immortal and not yet a Saint, Lu Ya was able to contend with Primordial Golden Immortals wielding this magical treasure. Captured by the Primordial Golden Dou, it yet managed to escape on its own.

"Many thanks to the Buddha Ancestor!" Tsangyang Gyatso received the Slaying Immortal Slaying God Treasure Blade with utmost gravity and then departed.

Speaking of Wukong, on his way back to Water Curtain Cave, someone had already detected his movement and reported back to the mountain, with people coming out to greet him.

"Haha, hahaha! Wukong, you’ve finally come back after ten years," Yuan Hong burst into laughter upon seeing Wukong.

Wukong said, "I have other matters to attend to; we’ll catch up later."

Having said this, he entered the Water Curtain Cave, retrieved the body of Xuan Ming, shattered the mystical ice encasing the frozen body with a palm strike, and placed the body into his Mustard Seed space.

"Wait just a while, and I shall return!" Wukong announced.

Having secured the body of Xuan Ming, he employed his escape technique and left.

Wu Zhiqi scratched his head and ears, wondering, "Where is Wukong off to? After being away for ten years, he comes back for a second only to rush off again."

Yuan Hong laughed and said, "Do you want to go see?"

Wu Zhiqi replied, "Sure, it’d be good to take a look!"

Yuan Hong said, "Never mind, better not go. You might ruin their plans."

Not understanding, Wu Zhiqi did not ask further and went off to practice martial techniques with the others from Water Curtain Cave.

As Wukong journeyed, he suddenly saw a mage blocking his path, with a fair brow and handsome features, red lips and white teeth.

The person in front of him was none other than Tsangyang Gyatso!

With a glance, Wukong noticed the gourd hanging at his waist. His heart involuntarily shuddered. It was fortunate that when Xuan Ming was killed by the Great Hand Seal, he had brought along magical treasures like the ever-bearing cushion. Wukong had now placed all of them within his Mustard Seed space—if not, the odds would have been incredibly grim. After all, the Slaying Immortal Slaying God Treasure Blade was Lu Ya’s life-bound magical treasure.

The life-bound magical treasure of a Saint is not lent out lightly; this was precisely why the Lord of Primordial Beginning during the Middle Ages of the Investiture of the Gods would lend this magical treasure or that, but never the Pangu Banner.

As for what would become of Wukong’s fate, stay tuned for the next installment. (To be continued.
