Chapter 152: Attempt’s to Reach a Compromise

Minerva closed her eyes, a flood of different emotions and feelings coursing through her. At this juncture, she wanted to say many things, but now she needed to hear Priscilla’s side of things.

But before that, she brought up some of the most important things that were explained and told to her through Adam’s account of the situation.

"First off, Adam...

She said pausing a bit before she continued.

"Congrats on hittin Spirit Awakening, especially at such an unbelievable young age. Now that you’ve hit that state of being, I’ll be teachin ya what it really means to be a spiritual being, and why that kinda power can flip a damn war on its head no matter what’s goin down."

She informed him, Adam still just pure Heat Astrum at the moment she smile as rubbed the back of his head.

Taking in Priscilla comments.

But her compliment soon turn to scolding.

"Second, ya killed a lotta people kid."

"Like, a lot, just to stop Priscilla from knockin you out cold. Some noble family types were on the top floors from floor 141-153 where destroyed when you dropped that Collapse World."

"This crap’s gonna mess with the Van Hellsing rep, y’know... Tch. Next time you go actin outta desperation, try usin that brain of yours and think about the damn consequences, will ya? Sigh... This is going to be pain to cover up."

Minerva’s scolding was short, but it was firm.

On the other hand, her attention shifted to Priscilla.

Her anger was prominent at this point.

Her monster energy leaking out, as a result it began warping and distorting the area around her.

The world felt like it would soon break under her anger.

Priscilla sighed at these words, managing to withhold some level of composure.

"First of all, let me ask you something."

This took Adam by surprise as he realized where she was going with this.

And Minerva followed suit, indulging her question.

"Rule one: never betray the family."

"Rule two: if one of us falls, we avenge em no matter how crazy the damn danger."

"Rule three: be straight with each other... I made those rules, dammit. But why’re ya bringin that up now? What, did Adam break a rule or somethin?"

She asked.

And both of them looked at Adam, who began to rub his head while saying:

"Damn... I gotta say girls, I am a little hurt here, being put on the spot like this, you know?"

His voice echoed, and the two of them heard him as clear as day.

Minerva had to be strict.

She loves her little brother, but she needs to get to the bottom of this.

"Adam... have you...

She didn’t want to believe it.

"...Have you betrayed us in any way?"

But before he could answer to defend himself, Priscilla stepped in.

"None of the sort, Minerva. Adam would never betray us. I can say that with the utmost pride. However... he has broken the third rule. Adam is lying. Did you know, Adam can see into the future?"

The moment Minerva heard that, her eyes snapped wide open.

She turned her gaze sharply toward Adam and barked.

"Oi...for real?!"

"Adam... You seriously look into the freakin future? Hmm I could do that too, still it’s not really one hundred percent but honestly why did you not tell us anything aye?"

Adam sighed, unsure how to respond. Yes and no..it wasn’t exactly him seeing the future. It was more like... experiencing it, as a result of his Save and Load ability.

But this was his newly acquired trump card against his enemies. He couldn’t reveal too much. That is why what he said next came as a surprise.

"Minerva... Priscilla, I..."

He hesitated, building tension and sincerity in his voice.

"I’ve been lying to you. About a lot of things."

The girls reactions were as expected. They felt slightly betrayed that Adam hadn’t opened up to them sooner.

But they also knew, he might’ve had his reasons.

So, motivated by the moment, Adam decided to come clean with as much honesty as he could muster.

"But if I may... Priscilla ain’t being honest either."

He turned toward her.

"I’ll tell you everything, all of it. All I ask in return is for Big Sis Priscilla to tell me why she wanted to seal me away in eternal sleep within her blood Prison.

Priscilla closed her eyes.

A fair compromise.

Adam’s lies weren’t the reason she had taken the actions she did, but opening up would clear things. Justify what she had done.

And so, she began to speak.

Priscilla explained everything she had seen within the Realm of the Bleeding.

By chance, or maybe fate...she managed to glimpse the past. And what she discovered shocked not only herself, but also Minerva and Adam.

For Minerva, it was everything:

Adam being the son of a former Overlord.

His connection to a Great Spirit.

His younger life of being dead. Killed by his own mother under orders from the reigning Overlord.

That explained the horns... and the strange new powers he had awakened after arriving in the human world.

It also explained how he ended up with them five years ago, when Rakasha found him dumped in the trashcan behind their horse stables.

Minerva became pissed.

Seriously pissed.

"That bitch... that sorry excuse for a father... Those damn cunts that stormed our fuckin home. THAT’S IT!! I’M GONNA KILL EM ALL!! NOBODY TOUCHES MY LITTLE BRO AND THINKS THEY GET TO KEEP BREATHIN!! AHHH IT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH!!"

Minerva’s monster energy flared up uncontrollably, rattling the air, scaring Adam, and making even Priscilla sweat in fear.
