Chapter 58: Chapter 58 : Physics

Eiden looked at Lyra, who had tightened her grip on his hand as if she didn’t want to let go at all. It was quite bold of her, yet her posture contradicted that boldness. Her head was bowed, clearly trying to hide her face from him.

He remained still, resisting the strong urge to pull her into a hug and maybe even steal a kiss. But no, not yet. He had to play it slow careful. He couldn’t make it obvious that he liked her. That would defeat the entire purpose. No, the plan was simple: gaslight her into falling for him while acting like he was just being kind. A favor, really. Nothing more.

After a while, Lyra finally spoke. Her voice was low but audible. "There are too many people here... we might get separated, so..."

Eiden nodded and responded using his [Soothing Voice] skill to help ease her nerves.

"Sure," he said with a calm smile, then added, "Shall we?"

She looked up at him. Her bright red face broke into a small, nervous smile as she gave a shy nod. He led her toward one of the thrill rides a machine that launched upward with incredible force before plummeting down just as fast. The kind of ride meant to jolt your soul out of your body and back in again.

As they boarded together, Eiden still held her hand. The ride jerked to life. WOAAAHHHHH!!! he yelled with excitement as the ride shot upward. WOAAAHHH!!! again, as it fell.

He glanced to the side, catching sight of Lyra. Her eyes were shut tightly, and she gripped his hand with both of hers now tighter than before. Though, in the midst of all the adrenaline, Eiden barely noticed.

Then came the third lift. As the ride shot up once more, his gaze unintentionally dropped.

His eyes widened. Lyra’s chest... her boobs... were jiggling up and down with every rise and drop. The physics involved were glorious. It was almost comical how determined gravity seemed to be in yanking them out of her clothes. Each time the ride went up, it looked like they were on the verge of escaping; each time it came down, they practically bounced in rebellion, like her bra might snap under the pressure.

This cycle repeated three more times. And each time, Eiden silently thanked Physics.

Thank you, Newton. Thank you, universe. Thank you for jiggly reality.

Eventually, the ride came to a halt. Eiden quickly unbuckled himself and then leaned over to unbuckle Lyra, who still had her eyes closed, seemingly frozen in place. "It’s over," he said gently.

Slowly, her eyes opened. She blinked at Eiden, then looked around with a disoriented gaze. She stepped off the ride but immediately wobbled. Eiden reached out and caught her, supporting her with his arm.

"Are you okay?" he asked, leading her to a nearby bench. Lyra sat down, her face still flushed. "Just... a little overwhelmed and dizzy. But I’m okay," she replied, managing a soft smile. Eiden chuckled. "I’ll get us something to drink."

He made his way to the nearest stall and returned with two cold juice bottles. As he approached, he noticed Lyra looking slightly anxious probably uncomfortable being alone in the crowd of strangers.

But when she saw him, her anxious expression softened. Her face lit up just a little, and Eiden found that irresistibly cute. His desire to protect her flared up. He handed her the juice.

"Thanks," she murmured, taking the bottle and sipping slowly. As they drank together, Eiden asked, "Do you want to rest some more?" She shook her head. "No, I think I can walk fine now."

He nodded. Once they finished their drinks, Eiden stood up and offered his hand again.

Lyra took it immediately, smiling warmly, and they walked hand-in-hand toward the zoo section of the park.

They strolled leisurely through the zoo, stopping to observe and occasionally feed some of the animals. There were all kinds adorable, terrifying, and some just... plain weird. One creature looked like a fusion of a llama and a squirrel. Another resembled a walking cactus that sneezed.

As the chaos of the thrill ride faded, both of them relaxed. Eventually, they wandered into a nearby café to grab something to eat. They picked a quiet corner booth and ordered snacks and drinks.

The awkward air between them had dissolved. They chatted freely now about the animals they saw, the odd ones, the cute ones, the surprisingly intelligent ones. Lyra was a vault of animal trivia. "Did you know pandas can fake pregnancy to get more food?" she said excitedly.

"Really?" Eiden raised an eyebrow. She nodded eagerly. "Also, mongooses are immune to snake venom. It’s a special receptor thing in their muscles."

Eiden added what he knew mostly random stuff he’d picked up from manga and anime. Admittedly, most of it was from plots that featured animal girls, not animals themselves, but still. He had something to contribute.

Their food arrived, and they ate while the conversation flowed naturally. For the first time today, Lyra didn’t seem shy or nervous just passionate, especially when talking about creatures.

After finishing their food, Lyra suggested they check out the haunted house. Eiden blinked. "You like haunted houses?" She smiled smugly. "I’m pretty good with them." With curiosity piqued, he agreed, and they made their way to the haunted house attraction. It had a small line, so they waited their turn before finally stepping inside.

Darkness greeted them immediately. The air inside was much colder. Dim lights flickered ominously overhead, and the faint sound of whispering and creaking floorboards filled the space.

To their surprise, it wasn’t just a straightforward scare path it was a maze. A twisting, eerie labyrinth filled with jump scares and horror props.

They began walking cautiously, the path narrowing with every step. Eiden stayed close, holding Lyra’s hand to ensure they didn’t get separated.

Then a sudden sound click ! as Lyra accidentally triggered a trap. A panel slid open, and a zombie sprang out, its grotesque face inches away from hers.

Lyra let out a sharp gasp and immediately clung to Eiden, burying her face in his chest.

He instinctively wrapped his arms around her, gently stroking her hair.

"It’s okay," he whispered calmly. She took a few seconds to recover, then peeked at the zombie again, now retreating back into its slot. "I’m not really afraid of ghosts," she mumbled, embarrassed. "But... those are still kinda disturbing."

Eiden smiled. "It’s normal. You’re doing great." He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, silently letting her know she could rely on him.

She blushed again and nodded. "Then... I’ll stick closer to you." And she did. They moved deeper into the haunted maze, side by side, her grip never loosening.
