Chapter 783

Chapter 783: Chapter 783

This kind of thing, Yang Fan naturally didn’t care, it was just a couple of jokes anyway.

Zhou Yingnan seemed to have rather thin skin about these things.

Just a few jokes and he ended up blushing.

"Has he always been like this?" Yang Fan asked.

Zhou Yingnan nodded, "Yeah, that was his female persona just now. She’s obsessed with things like skincare and beauty routines—more so than I, an actual woman. But her facial features are rather delicate, so when he dresses up as a woman, he truly does look quite pretty. Might even pass as the real deal."

Yang Fan chuckled. With half of a woman’s fragmented soul in him, dressing up naturally came easily.

"Let’s talk business, shall we?" Zhou Yingnan pulled out some printed sheets from her bag and handed them to Yang Fan.

"Take a look. This is the best price I can offer for now. It’s not fixed, obviously—you get what I mean without me needing to explain further."

"Yeah, explaining would be kind of pointless here," Yang Fan replied.

The market prices for medicinal herbs fluctuated wildly, making it impossible to offer a permanent rate.

For traders like them, it was different from pharmaceutical companies.

Pharmaceutical companies operated on a larger scale, allowing them to analyze broader market trends over the years and provide a long-term price. But Yang Fan didn’t have those resources, and neither did Zhou Yingnan.

"Is this your final offer?" Yang Fan glanced at the numbers and, somewhat surprised, asked.

Zhou Yingnan nodded. "It is."

The price was far lower than Yang Fan had anticipated, almost as if he were getting it at a bargain.

But Zhou Yingnan was a seasoned veteran of the trade—it was impossible for her to make such a rookie mistake.

Unless she was doing it intentionally.

"You must have other motives behind this price, right?" Yang Fan asked.

"I heard you’ve secured a major contract with a pharmaceutical company," Zhou Yingnan said casually, stirring her coffee with a spoon.

Yang Fan’s pupils contracted slightly. "You’re surprisingly well-informed."

Who could have leaked this information?

Yun Miaoyi didn’t know about it, so the only possibility was Fan Sisi.

Though Fan Sisi wasn’t the type for such behavior.

"My intelligence is just so-so—part insight, part guesswork," Zhou Yingnan said with a soft laugh.

"Don’t bluff. The fact that you deduced this is pretty impressive," Yang Fan replied.

So she had guessed it.

"You can figure that out too?" Zhou Yingnan said, a bit surprised.

"Is it hard to guess? I’m an outsider, and I only have a few people around me who could know and share this. Who else could it be?" Yang Fan replied.

Zhou Yingnan laughed. "What if I secretly investigated? Fine, you’re right—it was a guess. Typically, in a situation like yours, you’d only be collecting high volumes of these herbs—like Codonopsis or astragalus root—despite the fluctuating market if it were to fulfill a pharmaceutical company’s order. Otherwise, you wouldn’t target them under current market conditions."

"On this contract, I’ve made significant compromises—barely covering fuel costs—and I’m aiming for stability rather than extreme profit. Medicinal herbs like Codonopsis and astragalus root have large annual volumes but frequent ups and downs each year," Zhou Yingnan explained.

"To be honest, these ups and downs are giving me headaches. By offering you this favorable price now, I hope you’ll return the gesture later and help me stabilize things—like smoothing out those market roller-coasters. How about it?"

"I can’t guarantee it entirely; it’s not set in stone," Yang Fan replied.

"That’s fine. I’ve already accounted for the risk," Zhou Yingnan said generously. "This concession isn’t substantial—still within my acceptable range—and if it earns me your pledge, I think it’s worthwhile."

"Deal!" Yang Fan agreed without hesitation.

The small advantage Zhou Yingnan offered wasn’t really significant—Yang Fan wouldn’t make much even in bulk, maybe just a few thousand. What truly mattered was that her attitude could provide him with a stable downstream supplier.

That was precisely what Yang Fan had come for.

"So we’re settled?" Zhou Yingnan said, extending her hand with a smile.

"Settled!"

Yang Fan reached out and shook her hand.

Her hand was soft and warm.

"When do we start delivery? Pick a date," Zhou Yingnan said as she withdrew her hand.

Yang Fan calculated his schedule. "If it’s convenient for you, as soon as possible would be best."

"Tomorrow then," Zhou Yingnan said. "It’s already late today, plus that part-time beauty queen is off doing skincare again. He promises it’ll be quick, but it’ll take at least two hours. Since I agreed to tag along, I might as well keep enjoying the unlimited coffee refills."

"Sounds good."

Yang Fan nodded, took a sip of tea, and shook his head. "The coffee here looks decent enough, but this tea... it’s awful."

Maybe it was a side effect of merging two disconnected souls.

"Who could argue with that?" Zhou Yingnan laughed.

Yang Fan set the teacup down, looking thoroughly unimpressed.

Truly terrible.

For a man whose family had its own tea plantation, this was his first experience drinking tea this bad.

In a region famous for tea, no less!

"Let’s get in touch tomorrow," Yang Fan said, rising.

"...Alright."

Leaving the quiet street behind, Yang Fan strolled leisurely, admiring the sights of the city as he made his way back to the farm restaurant. On the way, he picked up two bottles of liquor and a pack of cigarettes.

Although the problem with Li Mountain had been solved, the restrictions hadn’t been lifted yet.

Reports indicated that final inspections and cleanups were still underway, probably requiring another month or so.

The Yun Family members couldn’t return home just yet.

At the farm restaurant’s courtyard and tea plantation, Yang Fan didn’t see Yun Miaoyi’s grandfather.

Back in the room, Yun Miaoyi and Fan Sisi were sprawled across the sofa in cami tops of different colors but similar styles, engrossed in gaming. Despite their roles as proprietors, they seemed more like carefree girls lost in play.

"Miaoyi, which room is your grandfather staying in?" Yang Fan asked.

Without looking up, Yun Miaoyi raised her hand holding her phone and suddenly hoisted her cami top with the other.

Yang Fan laughed and shook his head. "I asked about your grandfather. Why are you flashing these pair of kids at me?"

"Give them some praise! Don’t they look good? Sisi and I just bought this; it’s our matching bestie outfits!" Yun Miaoyi said.

Yang Fan: ...

If you want me to comment on clothes, just show the clothes—what’s the deal with lifting them?

This train of thought definitely rivaled the café owner’s antics.

"They look great—very sexy!" Yang Fan said.

Yun Miaoyi winked playfully at Yang Fan. "As for my grandfather... Hmm, let me think—someone mentioned early this morning... Oh, right, he’s off visiting relatives. Elderly folks don’t like being cooped up in these small spaces."

"Alright. I got him a little something. If you have time, please give it to him. Since I can’t find him, I’ll skip the face-to-face thank-you," Yang Fan said.

"It was just a small favor. You even bought him gifts?" Yun Miaoyi asked.

Yang Fan shook his head. "It’s etiquette. Regardless of how trivial it might be, he helped me quite a lot."
