Chapter 760
Chapter 760: Chapter 760
The layers of people pressed down on Yang Fan, as if they saw a delicious Blood Meal of dried corpses. Their eyes flickered with mad light, surging forward eagerly, leaving no gaps as they pressed onto Yang Fan.
Before this moment, they were merchants, office workers, deliverymen, repairmen, girls standing in the alleys.
But at this moment, they all forgot their identities, as if they had transformed into walking corpses.
Countless sharp nails and teeth clawed and bit at Yang Fan’s body. The piercing pain made him feel as if the next moment he would tread on the road to the Netherworld. He clenched his teeth hard, holding on, but the countless grabs and bites kept breaking his incense stick.
He simply couldn’t light it up!
After trying four or five times, the fierceness in Yang Fan’s heart completely exploded.
"Fuck you all!" Yang Fan threw the incense heavily to the ground, roared, and his entire body erupted with Inner Qi.
Bang!
Countless figures were blasted off his body.
"You want to eat me? Come on, all of you, let me see how many lives you have to eat me!"
Yang Fan shouted like a demon god descending.
He was about to die himself, so why would he care about the life and death of these people?
Bang!
Thunder flashed from the wooden mace, instantly frying a scantily dressed girl to a crisp.
Suddenly, a red ribbon, like a nimble snake, slipped through the crowd.
Where the ribbon passed, those crazed people’s movements instantly slowed, as if someone pressed a pause button.
"Big brother, grab it, come with me."
An ethereal voice sounded in Yang Fan’s ear.
Ji Dong’er?
The fierceness in Yang Fan’s eyes quickly faded away. He grabbed the red ribbon and, at the same time, picked up a pair of embroidered shoes. In an instant, everything before his eyes rapidly retreated, and in the blink of an eye, Yang Fan was already at another street corner.
"Big brother, are you okay?" Ji Dong’er floated down lightly from a telephone pole and asked with concern.
"Fortunately, you came, or else there would have definitely been something wrong." Yang Fan smirked bitterly, quickly took out an incense stick, lit it, and threw it on the embroidered shoes out of spite.
Eat it if you want, I’ve lit the incense for you anyway.
In that deadly moment, this guy actually wanted incense?
If you don’t even give me this bit of face, then don’t expect me to have a good attitude.
But not lighting the incense wasn’t an option either; Yang Fan didn’t want to just escape this trap only to be hunted again by these embroidered shoes.
Ji Dong’er looked at the ghastly wounds on Yang Fan’s body, covered her rosy lips with her slender fingers in shock, "Big brother, it must hurt, right?"
"It hurts a bit, but, well, staying alive is already a blessing." Yang Fan grinned and replied.
Of course, it hurt. His skin and flesh had almost been stripped by those people; how could it not hurt?
But, being alive, this pain was bearable.
Just in that instant, Yang Fan had planned to go down with those people.
If he couldn’t live, that mysterious woman wouldn’t have it good either.
"Big brother, let me take you to get your wounds treated first. I’m worried that if you stay like this... there might be trouble." Ji Dong’er said nervously, "But I don’t know how to treat wounds in the Human World, so you’ll have to find someone to help manage your wounds."
"Wait a moment." Yang Fan raised his hand and looked at the bustling street not far away.
That mysterious woman had already found his trail and was driving those people to rush over.
However, there was still some distance between them.
"Miss Ji, do you know what that ghastly thing is?" Yang Fan asked.
Ji Dong’er shook her head, "I can’t see clearly; I can only tell that this creature is related to the Old locust tree on Li Mountain."
"It’s that ghostly thing again." Yang Fan cursed viciously, then earnestly said to Ji Dong’er, "Miss Dong’er, thank you, you saved my life again. You came just in time, how did you know I was here?"
"Because... I just happened to see it. I wasted some time on the road, causing you to suffer such serious injuries, big brother, I’m sorry." Ji Dong’er said somewhat embarrassed.
"Don’t apologize. If you hadn’t shown up in time, I wouldn’t have lived to leave here today." Yang Fan said.
He glanced at the embroidered shoes that had already eaten up the incense, scooped them up, and quickly said, "Let’s go, we’ll talk after we leave this haunted place."
Ji Dong’er nodded, shook the red ribbon wrapped around Yang Fan, and shot skyward.
After making a turn in the city, she pinpointed a clinic that was still open and swooped down.
In the clinic was an old man wearing presbyopic glasses. Seeing Yang Fan burst in covered in blood, the old man was startled. He adjusted his glasses, took a light hiss, and asked, "Young man, were you bitten by a dog?"
"Much fiercer than a dog, doctor, can you treat it?" Yang Fan asked.
He had lost a lot of blood and was feeling a bit dizzy at the moment.
Fortunately, he had Inner Qi supporting him, preventing his wounds from worsening further.
"Let me take a look first." The old doctor gently pulled apart the bloodied clothes on Yang Fan, glanced, and said, "You seem to have some serious wounds, but treating them shouldn’t be too troublesome. Sit tight, I’ll get you some supplies."
"Sure."
Yang Fan responded, exhaling a long breath, and the tension in his heart gradually relaxed.
A moment later, the old doctor returned with a tray, holding a large bundle of gauze and medical cotton balls.
"Young man, this might hurt a bit, bear with it." The old doctor said while cutting Yang Fan’s clothes open.
"Big brother, don’t be afraid, just yell if it hurts." Ji Dong’er encouraged from the side.
Yang Fan laughed, "It’s not that exaggerated, I can handle this pain."
He had endured getting clawed and bitten by that group; surely, he could take this pain.
"Hiss... Ah, damn!"
Confident moments ago, Yang Fan’s expression suddenly changed.
His face twisted in pain as he bit down on his own wrist.
"Young man, bear with it. Without disinfection, it won’t heal right." The old doctor said, "Curiously, why are there so many nails in your wounds? Looks like the wounds were scraped by nails, your wife didn’t fight with you this fiercely, right?"
"I’ve been a doctor for half my life and it’s the first time I’ve seen nails scratch so deep to the bone, this is quite ruthless."
Yang Fan gritted his teeth, "Doctor, take my advice, deal with my issue first, then go home early."
"Your marriage issue doesn’t concern me going home or not. My wife and I are on pretty good terms." The old doctor chuckled, "Young man, honestly, was it a domestic spat that caused this?"
"Doctor, actually it’s easy to judge, you can see if those nails are from one person." Yang Fan said.
The old doctor’s movement subtly paused, "You cheated and got beaten by a group?"
