Chapter 756

Chapter 756: Chapter 756

Xiang Xue Ting is undoubtedly the girl with the most striking contrast Yang Fan has ever met.

However, he genuinely likes this kind of contrast.

The intense difference between her social image and her actual behavior brought Yang Fan a thrilling rush.

Although Yang Fan isn’t into any perverse hobbies, seeing Xiang Xue Ting dressed like that still made him feel uncontrollably hot and agitated.

After agreeing to find a quiet time for a video call, Yang Fan hung up the phone.

At the corner of the alley where he had parted ways with Wang Daqiang earlier, Yang Fan arrived but didn’t see any sign of him.

"What’s this guy up to? He couldn’t have already moved on and picked up a new fling here, could he?"

Yang Fan muttered his suspicions to himself.

In this place, as long as you have money in your pocket, moving on to a new fling is extraordinarily easy.

As long as your body and wallet can’t hold out, it’s entirely possible to trade one lover for another in just ten paces.

The women standing in the alley here were exceptionally numerous; on the roads he just walked past, Yang Fan didn’t count carefully, but approximately every ten steps, there would be one, ranging from young girls to mature women of all kinds.

This many options should be enough to satisfy most people’s tastes.

Yang Fan was just about to call Wang Daqiang when he saw him rushing over from another alley, seemingly hugging something.

Yang Fan quickly stepped out of the shadows of the alley to intercept him. "What’s with the rush? Where are you off to?"

"Fanzi, are you alright?" Wang Daqiang panted heavily, fixing his eyes on Yang Fan.

"I’m fine. Should I... not be fine?" Yang Fan asked, puzzled.

Did he think that woman had gobbled him up or something?

"No, it’s just that I saw a group of scary-looking guys storm into the motel earlier. I figured they were headed there to stir up trouble for you," Wang Daqiang explained. "I was about to rush in after them, but after thinking it over, I realized there were so many of them, and neither of us has a weapon. Obviously, two fists can’t fight off so many hands, so I ran out to buy some knives."

He pulled out what he’d been hiding in his arms: two gleaming butcher knives.

"We might not necessarily need to actually use these, but at least they can intimidate them so we get beaten less," Wang Daqiang said as he scanned Yang Fan from head to toe. "You’re looking totally fine. They weren’t there for you after all?"

"They were looking for me, but I reasoned with them—emotionally and with my fists—and peacefully resolved the issue," Yang Fan said, shoving the entire Fifty Thousand he had just earned into Wang Daqiang’s arms. "Put away the knives; they look a bit sinister."

The butcher knives weren’t small; they were essentially short swords, about sixty centimeters long overall.

"What’s this?" Wang Daqiang put away the knives and opened the black bag Yang Fan had slipped over.

At first glance, his pupils shrank sharply.

"Fanzi, how did you manage to get so much?" he asked in shock. "You didn’t rob them, did you?"

"Do I look like that kind of person? They were quite reasonable, honestly. After I spoke to them, they realized it wasn’t right to deceive people, so they added on your ’mental distress compensation’ and so on, rounding it up to an even total," Yang Fan said, patting Wang Daqiang on the shoulder with a smile. "Come on, let’s head back and sleep."

Tonight, Fan Sisi and Yun Miaoyi had prepared an absolutely sumptuous dinner for him; such a beautiful night shouldn’t be wasted.

Wang Daqiang stopped Yang Fan, speaking with a resigned tone, "Fanzi, do I look like an idiot to you?"

Yang Fan earnestly examined Wang Daqiang. "Not at all."

Though he was prone to falling into women’s traps.

This was the second time already.

"I don’t think so either, but why are you treating me like an idiot?" Wang Daqiang said in a low voice.

"Speak with some conscience—how am I treating you like an idiot?" Yang Fan said, feeling annoyed.

After all the effort he put in to help, this guy was still looking at him this way; it was a bit much.

Wang Daqiang quickly explained, "That’s not what I meant. I just feel like it’s impossible for those people to be so reasonable and give you this much money, even counting mental distress compensation."

"It’s true, so just take it," Yang Fan said.

"Are you..." Wang Daqiang hesitated.

Yang Fan sighed, glancing at Wang Daqiang begrudgingly. "Looks like you won’t be at ease until you get an answer, right? Fine, the truth is, those people couldn’t beat me, got absolutely thrashed by me, and then handed over the money. They even escorted me out respectfully. Satisfied now? Let’s go."

"I figured as much," Wang Daqiang said with a laugh.

Yang Fan shot him a look. "You definitely weren’t thinking that just now, but I won’t ask what you really thought, since I’m guessing it wasn’t anything good."

"No, I was just thinking there’s no way they’d hand over money so easily," Wang Daqiang said with an awkward smile. "Those guys clearly look like the type who mix in the underworld; the things they do must be shady business. Money that falls into their hands—they wouldn’t give it up without a fight."

Wang Daqiang stuffed the black bag entirely back into Yang Fan’s hands. "Fanzi, this is yours; I don’t want it!"

"What’s this about? You’ve suddenly got a grudge against money?" Yang Fan asked in surprise.

Wang Daqiang chuckled sheepishly. "I don’t want the money; it’s yours. Next time we go back to Xin’an, just take me to that tea house again, and I’ll be satisfied."

Yang Fan smirked. "Alright, alright, got hooked already, huh?"

He pushed the money back to Wang Daqiang. "You know where the place is anyway, so next time, you’re treating me! Now take it; let’s go."

"Fanzi, are you trying to make me your lapdog or what?" Wang Daqiang joked, glancing at the money bag in his hands.

Yang Fan strode forward, waving back as he said, "If that’s what you think, I don’t mind."

He hadn’t done all this expecting anything in return, but if Wang Daqiang insisted on giving him some, he wouldn’t object either.

Wang Daqiang didn’t push further, tucking the money bag into his coat and hefting the two butcher knives, following Yang Fan with a fierce look.

The night deepened.

The urban village gradually came alive, its maze-like, winding alleyways bustling like a market.

"This scene sure is lively," Yang Fan commented with a smile.

It was his first time seeing such a spectacle.

It felt almost absurdly exaggerated.

The areas near Xin’an’s Herb Market also had plenty of women standing in alleys, but they couldn’t compare to this.

They were in completely different leagues.

"When you went inside earlier, I had nothing to do, so I chatted casually with two women nearby and heard some pretty shocking stuff," Wang Daqiang said with a peculiar expression. "They have daily quotas—up to a hundred clients before they can clock off."

"How many?!" Yang Fan turned his head in shock.

"A hundred clients!"

Yang Fan was stunned for a long moment. "A hundred clients?! Damn, how is that even possible?"
