Happy Little Farmer -
Chapter 746
Chapter 746: Chapter 746
Yun Miaoyi ordered a cup of tea for Yang Fan and had the waiter bring it over.
As a frequent customer of the farm restaurant, Yang Fan’s tinkering here wasn’t met with opposition by the owner; on the contrary, the owner enthusiastically provided a small stool and a complimentary fruit platter.
"Fanzi, can you tell us now—what’s the deal with that mysterious power of yours?" Fan Sisi asked curiously.
Yang Fan put down his teacup, smiling. "Before we get into that, I want to know what interesting things the two of you plan to show me."
"What do you want to see, then?" Fan Sisi replied playfully. "How about you tell us what you’d like, and we’ll make it happen for you?"
"If I have to ask, that takes away half the fun. I’m curious about what you two are scheming." Yang Fan grinned.
Fan Sisi gave a mysterious smile. "We’re calling it... the Nine-Tailed Fox in Stockings."
"Fanzi, does this interest you?" Yun Miaoyi asked. "Oh, and there’s even a dance, plus some props like handcuffs and a little whip..."
Yang Fan’s eyes lit up instantly.
Creative indeed.
This? He genuinely liked it.
The Nine-Tailed Fox in Stockings—it already had two explosive keywords: stockings, tails.
That alone was a visual bombshell.
And they even added props into the mix. This was high-octane stimulation.
Yang Fan’s imagination started to run wild.
No, with everything they were preparing, he needed some tools of his own to match the extravaganza.
Just fooling around without stepping up didn’t seem appropriate for such an epic setup.
"I think we should add some electric props as well." Yang Fan suggested excitedly, his eyes gleaming.
Yun Miaoyi asked, "Fanzi, what do you mean by electric props?"
Fan Sisi’s face flushed faintly with embarrassment, and she leaned in close to Yun Miaoyi’s ear, whispering something.
"Ah... those, I get it now." Yun Miaoyi nodded in realization. "I’m totally onboard."
Fan Sisi shrugged and said, "I don’t have any issues either."
"Great. Then it’s settled!" Yang Fan declared with a chuckle.
"But, the town doesn’t sell these kinds of things. We were thinking of taking a cab to the county to buy them," Yun Miaoyi said. "Unless you’re not in a rush, in which case we’d prefer to order them online."
"No, I am in a rush. I can barely wait as it is." Yang Fan replied eagerly.
"Head to an unmanned self-service store and suit up thoroughly—no one will see you."
Fan Sisi burst into laughter. "You really do know us well; that’s exactly what we were just planning."
Turns out, the two of them had been hunched over their phones earlier to scheme about this.
They were certainly going all out to uncover the truth about cultivation.
Yang Fan said, "With everything you’ve prepared, I’d feel bad not delivering something substantial in return."
"But let me warn you first: although I don’t know the exact reasoning, this matter cannot be disclosed to anyone else—it stays between you two, got it? If word gets out, there could be serious consequences."
The actual reasons behind this were unclear to Yang Fan himself.
But given how cautious Mr. Fan had been, there must be a good reason.
Fan Sisi and Yun Miaoyi nodded solemnly in agreement.
"As for the strength inside my body, its proper name is Inner Qi, cultivated through visualization and breathing techniques to absorb the pure energies of heaven and earth, which are divided into various types, each with its own specialties," Yang Fan explained.
Fan Sisi and Yun Miaoyi craned their necks forward, listening intently.
After a long pause, when it seemed Yang Fan was finished speaking, Fan Sisi asked in surprise, "That’s it?"
"Yeah, isn’t that what you wanted to know—how the power works? That’s pretty much all there is to it." Yang Fan shrugged.
Beyond that, there didn’t seem to be much else worth mentioning.
Fan Sisi and Yun Miaoyi exchanged glances and muttered together, "That’s way too basic. How about teaching us? I’m suddenly really curious now."
Yang Fan looked at Fan Sisi skeptically. "Didn’t you say you were against all of this earlier?"
"Spending so much time around you guys rubbing off on me, I’ve changed my mind." Fan Sisi admitted. "I want to give it a shot."
Yang Fan’s gaze slowly shifted to Yun Miaoyi. "It’s you who wants to try, isn’t it?"
"I do. My curiosity’s stronger than Sisi’s," Yun Miaoyi confessed. "Sisi told me about what happened to her earlier, and after some convincing from me, she’s come around and is now willing to give it a chance."
Fan Sisi nodded lightly.
Yang Fan took a few sips of tea and remarked, "I understand your curiosity about this, but I need to point out that entering this realm is no trivial thing. What Sisi experienced earlier was mere beginner-level stuff—the simplest of the simple."
"Moreover, once you start cultivating, the chances of encountering those things will skyrocket, putting your life at risk."
Yun Miaoyi responded, "Fanzi, after all those incidents at the store, I’ve done a lot of research on cultivation online and joined numerous groups. While there’s a range of belief, the mainstream opinion is this: cultivating Inner Qi equates to practicing Dao or even starting on the path of Immortal Cultivation. It’s considered a way for humans to grow stronger and extend their lifespans."
"Is that why you both decided to cultivate?" Yang Fan asked.
Fan Sisi nodded. "Yes. I used to dismiss it as nonsense, but after Miao Yi shared that perspective, I started thinking deeply. My grandfather is pushing ninety, yet he looks like someone in his forties or fifties, possibly even healthier. That made me reconsider—I want to try."
Yang Fan himself wasn’t entirely clear on this perspective.
But it did hold some logic.
The enhancements that Inner Qi brought to individuals were most evident in their strength.
And the improvement in physical condition it prompted was holistic.
"Since you’re both so determined and prepared, I don’t see a problem from my side," Yang Fan began, then shifted his tone. "But this isn’t solely up to me—it’ll require Mr. Fan’s approval."
"Don’t worry—if you’re willing to teach us, my grandfather will definitely approve." Fan Sisi declared confidently. "He’s been fretting about not finding disciples for ages. Getting two at once would be a dream come true for him; he’d never object."
"Even so, we’ll still need to go through the proper channels. Otherwise, with your grandfather’s temper, he’ll have me walking on eggshells for days," Yang Fan remarked.
There was no need to provoke trouble for himself over something so minor; it’d only be an unnecessary headache.
"Fanzi, I’ve got one more tiny concern..." Yun Miaoyi suddenly interjected.
Yang Fan’s lips curled into a sly smile. "You want to know what’s really going on at your store, don’t you?"
Yun Miaoyi nodded.
"While I can’t give you a direct answer, I can say some things in a more roundabout way. But you two painting such a grand picture for me and raising so many requests—don’t you think it’s a little unfair?" Yang Fan teased with a chuckle.
