Chapter 707: Chapter 707

Yang Fan carried a mix of excitement, apprehension, and a tinge of nervousness as he stepped cautiously into the cave.

The originally pitch-black cave had brightened considerably after losing the protective layer at the entrance.

The walls seemed to be adorned with something special, emitting a light that wasn’t particularly bright but still made everything inside clearly visible, giving off a feeling of being inside a karst cave.

However, the content inside left Yang Fan somewhat disappointed.

The cave was approximately seven or eight square meters in size. Aside from a stone bed, an oil lamp, and a straw mat on the stone bed, there was nothing else. That was all there was inside—no excess items at all.

Yang Fan picked up the straw mat and the oil lamp to study them closely.

The mat was woven from grass—very ordinary.

The lamp was made of bronze and might actually be considered an antique, but there were no notable peculiarities.

"You all can come in now," Yang Fan placed the oil lamp down and shouted toward the outside.

"It’s so clean here." Yun Miaoyi squeezed into the cave, surveying the surroundings as she remarked.

Yang Fan nodded sullenly, "It is indeed very clean. There’s nothing here."

"This looks like it could be a bedroom. Maybe the useful items are in that cave next door," Yun Miaoyi speculated as she examined the surroundings. "A bed and a lamp seem fitting for a sleeping area. It’s simple but normal."

"Should we check out the place next door?" she suggested.

Yang Fan shook his head, "The area next door is inaccessible. You can’t enter. I won’t explain the specifics—it’s dangerous. That was the first place I tried, but after testing it with a magic artifact, it felt unstable, so I gave up."

"There might indeed be something inside, but I don’t plan to take that risk. If we open it and something worse than your family’s old ancestor rushes out, then we’d be screwed."

This was something Yang Fan had overlooked.

Now that Yun Miaoyi brought it up, he had to make a half-truth, half-lie to divert her curiosity.

"Huh?!" Yun Miaoyi shivered in fright, "But we’re in someone’s bedroom now—they might not take kindly to that, right?"

"Don’t worry, I’ve got it under control. With me here, you don’t need to be nervous," Yang Fan assured, "Let’s just make do here for now. After three hours, we’ll take turns shouting from outside the cave to see if we can get rescued."

"Alright." Hearing Yang Fan’s confident assurance, Yun Miaoyi’s tense expression slowly began to ease.

Fan Sisi picked up the oil lamp, inspected it for a while, and said, "Fanzi, this seems to be bronze. It might be worth a few silver coins—it’s a bit of a find, at least."

"We can take it out and have someone appraise its age and value," Yang Fan replied.

Still, he felt a hint of resignation—secretly hoping this lamp would turn out to be something extraordinary.

But aside from that, Yang Fan’s biggest find was the spiritual energy.

The spiritual energy inside the cave was almost twice as concentrated compared to the energy drifting out near the entrance.

Training in a place like this would boost his inner Qi progress immensely, and it proved far simpler than combating mysterious entities.

Yang Fan ignored the two curious women as they wandered around, touching and tapping to study the place. He instead focused inward—to continue standing meditation and breathing exercises, seizing this rare opportunity to cultivate as much as possible.

Whether or not there were other items didn’t matter; as long as the spiritual energy was present, Yang Fan felt content.

"Mr. Yang!" Yun Miaoyi suddenly called out in surprise, staring intently at the shifting lights on the wall.

Fan Sisi hurriedly pulled her back, "Fanzi is recovering his strength, don’t disturb him."

"Oh... Sorry, I didn’t know." Yun Miaoyi quickly apologized.

Yang Fan actually heard her, but he chose not to respond and maintained his focus on cultivating.

Yun Miaoyi glanced at Yang Fan and whispered to Fan Sisi, "Mr. Yang’s recovery method is so unusual—shouldn’t normal people just lie down and rest? How can he recover by standing there? Can this really be considered resting?"

"That’s standing meditation. For people like them, this is the best form of rest," Fan Sisi retorted, though she was likely just making it up.

"Oh, I see. Let’s keep our voices down." Yun Miaoyi whispered again, "Miss Fan, this wall is so strange. There are flowing lights inside. What do you think it’s made of?"

"I have no idea. Perhaps it’s some kind of special stone. The best pigments always come from stones. Even the golden center of a somersault cloud is like that. There are so many things in this world that exceed our imagination," Fan Sisi replied thoughtfully, casually agreeing.

Yun Miaoyi’s delicate fingers traced the slow-moving greenish-white light patterns on the stone wall, mumbling, "If such stone were used to decorate walls, it’d definitely look amazing—far better than anything currently on the market."

"It probably would be nice. I wonder what’s inside it?" Fan Sisi mused, chiming in offhandedly.

Yun Miaoyi’s focus lingered on the cave interior, leaving her feeling slightly restless.

Yang Fan’s intention to obscure the purpose of this place was evident, yet Yun Miaoyi’s fixation on these details persisted.

If this continued, the truth would inevitably surface.

After thinking over her options repeatedly, Fan Sisi suddenly leaned in and asked in a hushed voice, "Boss Yun, may I ask you something?"

"Miss Fan, just ask directly—what’s the matter?" Yun Miaoyi replied curiously.

Fan Sisi hesitated, then lowered her voice further, whispering by Yun Miaoyi’s ear, "Have you slept with Fanzi?"

She decided this might serve as a distraction.

Yun Miaoyi jolted in shock, quickly shaking her hands as she replied, "No, Miss Fan, please don’t misunderstand—I’m just a client of Mr. Yang. We didn’t even know each other before yesterday."

"Don’t worry, I’m not interrogating or checking up on you," Fan Sisi said lightly, "Fanzi has more than just me as his girlfriend anyway—even if you had slept with him, it wouldn’t matter."

"I mean, I feel like we two seem to get along naturally, and we’re both newcomers in Fanzi’s life. If you’re planning to take things long-term with him, maybe we can get closer in the future. Of course, if you’re only playing around with Fanzi, that’s fine too."

"But I have one little condition: if you do play around, make sure to call me—I want to watch."

Yun Miaoyi’s eyes widened, her pupils seeming to fill her irises entirely.

She stared at Fan Sisi in stunned silence for a long while.

"Miss Fan, did I just... hear you wrong?" she asked incredulously.

Fan Sisi replied calmly, "No, you didn’t. What I said was exactly how I feel. If you have anything to say, feel free to be upfront."

"I... Nothing’s happened between me and him. I don’t have any thoughts either," Yun Miaoyi shook her head.

Fan Sisi laughed magnanimously, "Boss Yun, how can someone as accomplished as you—a female general—still be so shy? Speak your mind. Everything I said is truthful; if I’m lying even a little, I’ll instantly gain thirty pounds!"
