Chapter 674
Chapter 674: Chapter 674
This menu is too much like something from a tea house; Yang Fan actually felt quite bewildered looking at it.
"So, as I understand it, not sure if I’m right, does the different teas represent different qualities? And the dishes and accommodation are real, right?" Yang Fan asked.
"Well... not exactly." The receptionist smiled slightly, "How about this? Sir, you can tell me what your needs are, and I will make some recommendations for you – how does that sound?"
"A place to stay, have a meal, and drink some good tea - make a recommendation." Yang Fan said succinctly.
The receptionist was amused by Yang Fan’s words, she leaned forward slightly and pointed to one of the packages, "Then I would suggest for you to choose this one or the ones above or below it. These will absolutely make for a great experience, and if you’re not satisfied, I will refund your money."
The three options she pointed out all cost four sixes; the prices were certainly not cheap.
"Alright, then that’s the one, two orders please." Yang Fan said.
"Sure thing, may I ask which sir would like to change to a private room?" the receptionist asked, "We have one room per person right now, and we haven’t yet added any packages for multiple people in one room, please understand."
Yang Fan got that point; it’s true that two people couldn’t fuss about in one room.
"I’ll change; Old Wang can wait here," Yang Fan said as he stood up.
Wang Daqiang was still feeling uncomfortable up to now, looking hesitant as if he wanted to say something.
Yang Fan didn’t give him a chance to speak and just walked out, activating the Heavenly Eye Technique as he stepped.
This place was very strange, but he just couldn’t put his finger on what was strange about it.
The feeling was very much like encountering a ghost, but at the same time, it felt quite comfortable, which was quite contradictory.
As soon as he activated the Heavenly Eye Technique, the scenery around Yang Fan changed dramatically; strands of black smoke and swathes of pink mist intertwined in the corridor, black signifying evil, this must be the reason for Yang Fan’s discomfort.
As for those pink mists, Yang Fan also was somewhat confused.
Could it be because this place is related to pink willows?
Suddenly, the scene in front of Yang Fan changed again.
Many people suddenly surged out in the passageway, there were half-dressed anciently attired women gathered together, waving handkerchiefs, and their laughter was incessant, with eyes brimming with flirtatiousness like water.
There were young men in long robes, holding wine jugs and singing loudly by the railing, while nearby servants, holding pen and ink, were giggling in a flattering manner. And there were maids holding trays laden with assorted foods, bustling through the various rooms.
Then, like a signal was lost, that scene vanished abruptly.
Yang Fan’s pupils contracted as he frowned deeply.
This was a sign of a ghost on the brink of taking form.
The ghost was about to descend into the mortal world, but it was hindered somehow, causing this intermittent appearance.
Yang Fan rubbed his temples and exited the Heavenly Eye Technique.
It seems he has bad karma with ghosts.
He hasn’t been in this line of work for long, but he’s already encountered quite a few ghosts.
"Beauty, are you the owner of this place?" Yang Fan suddenly asked the receptionist leading the way in front of him.
She happened to stop walking, pushing aside the curtain of a private room.
With a sweet smile at his words, she said, "Mister, you really have good eyes. All the customers who come here think I’m just a waitress. They make things difficult for me and even plan to toss a little money to take me for a ride. You’re the... hmm, second customer to realize I’m the owner, but I’m afraid that’s not up for grabs."
Yang Fan sat down in the private room. "Actually, I just took a wild guess."
"Well, you guessed right," the proprietress said with a laugh that exuded peace and warmth, her eyes brimming with playful mischief.
With that look and her outfit, it’s no wonder customers had ideas about her.
Yang Fan was quite taken with her as well.
"Let’s not rush into that. I’ve got a business proposal to discuss with you. Are you interested?" Yang Fan asked.
The proprietress sat down across from Yang Fan, propping her cheek with the tip of her palm and said with a light laugh, "You’re not looking for a freebie, are you? My business isn’t that easy to run, and I’m not interested in the usual affairs. However, you can still share your thoughts, and if it truly impresses me—and you’re not a scammer—then maybe there’s a one in a... no, one in a thousand chance."
"You should find this business interesting," Yang Fan said calmly.
"Have strange things been happening in your establishment lately? Like seeing something amiss, feeling the air conditioning chilly enough to freeze your bones at midnight, or constantly hearing unexplainable noises?"
The proprietress’s expression subtly changed, and she replied with a light smile, "It’s not strange for strange things to occur here. I’ve gotten used to it; I see amiss things daily. Just yesterday, a client ran out naked, claiming our girl’s hair was too lush and he urgently needed a switch—it’s all quite normal."
Yang Fan knew she understood perfectly but was deliberately sidestepping the topic.
"No problem, I just happened to come across this, and it’s fine if you’re not willing to do business," Yang Fan said. "Though I could simply do nothing, there are a few words I feel compelled to share."
"You might not need me, but it’s better to solve this issue as soon as possible, otherwise, the compensation for a death will certainly be much higher than hiring someone to deal with it. Without accidents, it’s sure to bankrupt you. Also, if you’re determined not to hire help, then it’s better not to do business at night; it could save you a loss of a few million."
"You can take it as alarmism, a common trick among scammers, right? I didn’t have to say anything, but I’m concerned it might get dragged onto me, and that wouldn’t be worth it. What you decide to do is up to you," Yang Fan said.
Looking at Yang Fan with suspicion, the proprietress suddenly chuckled, "You really are a scammer!"
"Then how about you arrange something for the scammer first?" Yang Fan said with a smile, "I want the best, and no fooling around. You must know that scammers are not particularly good at handling these matters, but when it comes to causing harm, they often excel at those tricks."
"Don’t worry, my business is all about reputation, not just one-off deals," the proprietress confidently said. "Like the customer I just mentioned, if I’d known earlier he was looking for a ’little tiger,’ I would’ve certainly matched him with one, so he wouldn’t have run out halfway through."
"Then arrange a ’little tiger’ for me," Yang Fan’s eyes lit up.
He liked ’little tigers’, they were cute.
"How many would you like?" the proprietress asked with a slight twist of her waist.
"How many do you have on the menu?" Yang Fan asked.
"Two. One for a cup, and one for a pot," the proprietress replied, "Here, ’little tigers’ don’t come at an extra charge. Whatever the menu price is, the price remains the same whether you’re looking for ’little tigers’ or any other special types."
"Then give me both for a pot, what’s the deal with just a cup." Yang Fan said.
He wasn’t sure if he got it right, maybe a cup meant per occasion, and a pot was for the whole night.
"Alright then," the proprietress responded with a laugh, hesitating for a moment then asking, "So, what’s your price range?"
