Chapter 415: Chapter 415

Diwu Ming’s words were very tempting.

Her description instantly gave Yang Fan the feeling of being there himself.

Looking at Diwu Ming’s enchanting and graceful figure, he felt as though he had already partaken.

But he still had some sense left.

"It’s okay, I can resist!" said Yang Fan.

Considering the consequences of enraging this woman, it was better not to bet on it.

He was naturally not cut out to be a gambler, nor did he need to bet on this matter.

Diwu Ming was being so direct, it wouldn’t be long before she honestly stripped and let him enjoy, Yang Fan guessed. Maybe, it was just her being stubborn.

Diwu Ming’s lips curled into a faint smile, with a hint of regret she said, "I did give you a chance, but it was you who didn’t seize it, so I can’t do anything about that."

Yang Fan nodded.

He didn’t want to get involved with this damn trickery at all.

Diwu Ming’s words clearly had a trap in them.

"I think we should just drink and eat meat," Yang Fan said, raising his glass.

"Sure!"

After that, things somehow became more proper.

The two drank wine and ate barbecue, occasionally making small talk, and neither of them brought up those indecent matters again.

It was as if they had never discussed that at all.

Belly full, spirits high.

Yang Fan paid the bill and was about to suggest booking a hotel room for Diwu Ming when a black van stopped at the curb. A cool looking, burly man in black got out, opened the door, and stood respectfully beside the van.

With a slightly tipsy smile, Diwu Ming looked at Yang Fan and asked, "Brother Fanzi, are you really not going to take a gamble?"

"I am a law-abiding, honest man—I don’t gamble!" Yang Fan said firmly.

Diwu Ming smiled faintly and shook her head, "That’s a real pity then. Sweet dreams to you. Oh, and remember to dream of me. In your dreams, there are no strings attached. You can do whatever you want with me."

Yang Fan quickly glanced at the other diners nearby, thankfully no one had noticed this conversation.

This woman really had no filter.

Diwu Ming got into the car and waved to Yang Fan.

The door closed, and the black van quickly drove off, its lights gradually disappearing into the dim night.

"Xiao Yang, your girlfriend seems quite wealthy," Uncle Han remarked, walking over out of nowhere and handing a cigarette to Yang Fan.

Yang Fan accepted the cigarette and lit it for Uncle Han, chuckling lightly, "Uncle, you misunderstood. She’s not my girlfriend. Strictly speaking, we just have a sort of business relationship."

"Not really? That’s a pity." Uncle Han said with a chuckle and shook his head, "If you had married that girl, you might have had to stoop a little, but at least you could have bypassed many detours in life. Sometimes, you should not care too much about male pride; pride doesn’t fill your stomach."

Yang Fan puffed out rings of smoke and laughed lightly, "I feel pretty good about how things are now, not caring about pride or no pride. Just living quietly, in a way I like. I’m very satisfied."

Uncle Han gave Yang Fan a thumbs up, "You kid, you do have a clear grasp of things."

"Is it almost time to get off work?" Yang Fan asked.

"Almost, there shouldn’t be any more customers coming at this time."

Yang Fan glanced at the girl who was cleaning up the tables nearby and asked, "Uncle Han, where did you recruit this girl from? Can your little BBQ stand afford her?"

Uncle Han rolled his eyes, "I recruited her from home. I’ve been raising her since she was little. You think I can’t afford it? Rascal, I can’t believe your eyesight could be that poor. This is my daughter. She’s just here helping out during her summer vacation."

Yang Fan had said that on purpose, of course.

"Lao Er?" he asked.

Uncle Han grunted, "A leaky cotton-padded jacket."

"Right, you’re a clever one. Help me think of a way to break those two up. My leaky cotton-padded jacket has gotten herself a man who could call me brother, and they’re planning to get married this year. It’s insane."

"What’s there to worry about, I also call you brother!" Yang Fan said with a laugh.

Uncle Han stared at him speechlessly, "I’m talking about age. You call me uncle, but that guy would have to call me older brother. I don’t understand what my daughter is thinking, picking someone over a decade older than her."

"I asked her what exactly she sees in him, and she said it’s a secret she can’t divulge. Listen to that, listen, what is that supposed to mean? These days, it’s driving me so crazy I can hardly think straight."

A girl in the flower of her youth picking a man over a decade her senior could indeed drive a father to a heart attack.

"Older brother, this actually really puts me in a tough spot," Yang Fan said with a troubled expression.

Uncle Han looked at him sidelong, "Are you deliberately trying to tick me off?"

"No no no, my mistake, my mistake," Yang Fan said with a laugh, waving his hand, "You just mentioned that it’s because it involves secrets she can’t reveal. Could it be possible that your daughter picked someone who does special work?"

"What if he does special work? They’re still a decade apart!" Uncle Han exclaimed in a low voice.

Though he spoke quietly, his teeth were clenched tightly, almost grinding together with a roar.

Yang Fan nodded, "That’s true as well."

"But honestly, I’m afraid I really can’t be of much help here. Although I want to help, this matter is like trying to swallow the sky for a frog—there’s just no way to start."

"Think of something," Uncle Han said earnestly, "consider it a favor for your uncle. Find out who that man really is and how he got involved with my daughter. That’s all I need."

"Once it’s done, you name your reward. I can’t just watch my daughter fall into a pitfire. Nineteen years old, my daughter is just twenty-three, and that guy is almost ready to collect his pension!"

"How much?!" Yang Fan was startled.

"Nineteen!!!"

Uncle Han growled through clenched teeth.

"That really is a bit outrageous," Yang Fan muttered.

Old Han’s daughter... maybe her brain’s a bit skewed when it comes to love.

"Forget about the reward. Just treat me to a couple of BBQ meals later. But how can I help you with this?" Yang Fan asked. Old Han had been so sincere about it; he wanted to help but truly didn’t know where to start.

"I heard they might be meeting in the county town tomorrow evening for something special, I suspect it’s a date. That old coot, what he plans to do with my daughter, I don’t know, but after she leaves, I’ll call you to follow them, see what they do. If they go to a hotel, call me and I’ll kill them both," Uncle Han said fiercely.

"I’ll cover your lost wages for tomorrow, just do me this favor. If I follow them, I’ll definitely be spotted, and then she won’t tell me anything. They’ll just date secretly, and I’ll be even more helpless."

"And when they bring back a grandchild for me... even if I’m unwilling, I’d probably have to suck it up and accept it."
