Chapter 82: Chapter 82 Carrying Hatred

Stella Langston left the Langston Family; the first thing she thought of was to go to the police station and seek out Grace Land for answers.

Wasn’t Julia Land supposed to bring out the money to save the Langston Clan?

How did things turn out this way?

Thinking of Julia Land, Stella’s eyes were filled with hatred.

When Grace saw her daughter come to visit her, a look of joy appeared on her face, "Sophia, hurry and help Mommy find Julia so she can drop the lawsuit."

Stella’s eyes reddened, "Mom, what exactly happened? Why would Julia sue you?"

"I took her pictures from the orphanage and threatened her with them. I should have never brought her back to the Langston Family, the ungrateful little wretch should have been left to die in the orphanage."

For Grace, who prized her reputation so much, it was unthinkable that one day she would be sued by her own daughter.

To be locked up in a police station as well.

She was absolutely infuriated.

Stella was dumbfounded, "What pictures?"

Grace huffed coldly, "She was favored by the head of the orphanage, who sent me the pictures for blackmail. He wanted money, but I didn’t pay."

"Where are the pictures?"

Stella was a bit shocked but then felt a secret sense of schadenfreude.

"Someone else bought them; only one remains in the hands of the police."

Mentioning this, Grace somewhat regretted it.

She shouldn’t have sold the negatives. At least if she still had them now, she could print them out and spread them online for everyone to see.

Taking Julia back from the orphanage, her original purpose was to use her for an arranged marriage.

The more Grace thought about it, the more she regretted it.

"Mom, what do we do now? Without the money, I’ll have to marry Mr. Wang."

Stella was overwhelmed with frustration.

In her heart, she had another idea, which was to leave Dunmore City. After all, she still had money on her bank card.

As for what would become of the Langston Family, letting it go bankrupt, she, a young girl, couldn’t handle it.

Grace knew that this time Julia was determined to sue her. She lowered her voice and whispered, "Go to Strong Health and find Julia, make a big scene."

Stella’s eyes lit up, and after thinking for a moment, she nodded.

The Langston Family was already in such a dire situation. Why should Julia live so comfortably?

"Mom, I’ll go find Julia on Monday!"

On the other hand, Julia Land awaited the arrival of Assistant Winters, who brought her a safety helmet, and she rode her scooter to the supermarket.

Tonight she planned to cook dinner herself.

James Thompson returned home first.

He ignored Sophia Hart’s grimaces and boldly entered Julia’s bedroom.

He turned on the computer and started a meeting.

The meeting had been going on for almost half an hour and Julia had not yet returned.

"Let’s take a break."

James paused the meeting and called Julia.

Julia, pushing her cart through the supermarket while picking out vegetables, answered the phone, "I’m at Lyle Supermarket near Sincere Heart Community."

James made a grunt of acknowledgment and hung up the phone, "Jasper Winters, take notes of the meeting."

The Jasper Winters on the other end complied.

James held his cellphone and house keys as he walked out of the bedroom.

"Brother Thompson, are you going out? Can you bring me back some ice cream?"

"I’m not buying. Julia shouldn’t have cold stuff lately."

Sophia Hart’s eyes widened in disbelief as she watched James leave the house.

Just because Julia can’t have it doesn’t mean she can’t!

Julia Land, carrying a large bag of items, stepped out of the supermarket and spotted James, "How come you’re here?"

"As a boyfriend, of course, I should come and help my girlfriend carry things," said James, raising an eyebrow. He was certainly not like that idiot Noah Quarter, who had a low EQ.

James was a dangerous man.

He was best at winning hearts, and if he were an enemy, he might not even know how he died.

*

They returned home, and Julia changed into her loungewear and headed into the kitchen.

James followed her out and saw her picking up an apron to put on.

"I’ll do it," he offered from behind her.

Julia turned to look at him, "Okay."

He took the apron from her hands, standing behind her, and his gaze fell as he put the apron on for her, tying the strings around her back.

With a deep voice, he asked, "Is this too tight?"

Julia lowered her neck, exposing her pale nape, "It’s not tight, it’s fine."

James’s fingers brushed against her fair neck.

He was driven out of the kitchen.

The kitchen door closed.

Sophia Hart curiously glanced at the ousted James Thompson, then turned back to continue watching TV.

Julia Land cooked quickly.

For three people, she made four dishes and one soup.

The color, aroma, and taste were all there.

James Thompson looked at the table full of dishes, thinking of how all this used to be enjoyed by Noah Quarter, and he felt jealously uneasy.

In the future, it would all be his.

He lifted his eyes and looked at the little pear opposite him.

Her eyes and brows smiled, stunning and captivating.

Julia Land looked up to see James Thompson staring at her, "?"

Could she get full just by looking?

James Thompson smiled, his long legs stretched out from under the table over to Julia Land’s side.

His calf touched her calf.

Julia Land bit her chopsticks, hesitated for a moment.

"Pear Sister, the ribs are really delicious." Sophia Hart said, picking up the ribs and eating with gusto.

Julia Land smiled nonchalantly, "Tasty, I’ll cook them again next time."

She gave James Thompson a covert glare, warning him.

James Thompson’s thin lips curved slightly, retracting his leg, letting her eat in peace.

At that moment, his phone on the table rang.

James Thompson answered the call.

He waited for the person on the other end, Jasper Winters, to finish speaking, then hung up and put down his chopsticks.

"Little Pear, may I pack the food in a container to take away and eat?"

Julia Land guessed that the call he had just received was an emergency.

She went to the kitchen to get a container and a bag, came out of the kitchen, and filled it with food for him.

She handed him the bag.

He left with the container in hand.

Sophia Hart stared wide-eyed at the handsome man and beautiful woman opposite her, "....." Jealous.

**

"BOSS, it’s right here."

Jasper Winters opened the private room door, letting James Thompson enter.

His gaze landed on the bag in James Thompson’s hand, then shifted away.

At this time, there were two men inside the private room.

If Julia Land had been there, she would have recognized one as Victor Langston, and the other as Victor Langston’s friend, Max Woods.

James Thompson sat on the sofa, opened the bag, and took out the container of food and chopsticks.

He ate his meal unhurried.

Victor Langston and Max Woods were kneeling on the ground, subdued by bodyguards.

Jasper Winters recounted the conversation between Victor Langston and Max Woods to James Thompson.

It turned out Victor Langston was troubled by family matters and had asked Max Woods out for a drink.

He had told Max Woods about the issues at home.

Max Woods, a crafty man, gave Victor Langston a suggestion.

"If something happens to Julia Land, you’re her only relatives, wouldn’t her assets then belong to you?"

Although James Thompson wasn’t involved in Julia Land’s affairs, he had people keeping an eye on Langston Family father and son.

Desperate for money, a cornered dog will leap over a wall.

James Thompson finished all the food in the container, then set down his chopsticks.

He pulled out a paper towel and wiped his lips.

Victor Langston’s mouth was sealed with tape, leaving him unable to speak, merely shaking his head and stammering trying to explain.

Max Woods also regretted his actions.

The man who had come in hadn’t said a word, and that made him feel terrified.

Like a venomous snake lurking in the dark.

The bodyguard tore off the tape from Max Woods’ mouth.

The tape was ripped off forcefully, pulling out some of his beard hair, causing Max Woods to gasp from the pain.

"I’m telling the truth, please let me go."

"Someone called me, offered me money to tell Victor Langston those things."

"I don’t know who it was, they had disguised their voice."

Victor Langston watched his own friend with disbelief, glaring furiously.
