Chapter 81: Chapter 81: The Red Little Donkey

Julia Land leaned on the steering wheel and laughed lightly, "I bought it while getting something for Thomas Sullivan."

Her words almost crippled her waist.

Men can be so petty sometimes.

The next morning, she woke up early, excited to buy a mini electric scooter.

James Thompson, with his eyes closed, raised his hand and stretched his arm across, holding down Julia, who was trying to get up.

"Sleep a little more."

He said lazily with his eyes still closed.

The woman who kept begging him to stop last night because she thought she was dying seemed even more lively than him today.

James would never admit that he had overexerted himself, and his back had gone soft.

With his strong arms holding her waist, Julia couldn’t get up; she turned around to face James.

She just looked at him, not calling for anyone.

Maybe her gaze was too intense, James felt it, and he opened his dark eyes.

His warm palm touched her back, his voice slightly hoarse, "It’s Saturday, why are you getting up so early? What do you want to do?"

Julia replied, "I want to go buy a mini electric scooter."

James’s hand, not behaving, moved at its own pace, "Why do you want to buy an animal?"

Julia, exasperated, "... What animal? A mini electric scooter isn’t an animal; it’s an electric vehicle, you know?"

James raised his eyebrows nonchalantly, "Oh, I didn’t know."

While they talked, James’s sleepiness had also vanished.

He sat up, supporting one leg with his elbow on his knee, rubbing his temples with his fingers.

His abs and Adonis belt were quite eye-catching.

"Where do you want to buy the mini electric scooter?" he asked.

"I don’t know, I’ll look it up online in a minute."

Julia’s hand lingered on James’s Adonis belt, touching it.

James’s throat moved as he let her touch for a while before getting out of bed, "Get up, what do you want for breakfast?"

Julia thought for a moment, "Deep-fried dough sticks with soy milk."

"Okay."

He called the bodyguard to buy deep-fried dough sticks and soy milk; these foods were available near Sincere Heart Community.

Julia got up and went to take a shower first.

She was halfway through when the bathroom door was pushed open, and James walked in.

He was brushing his teeth while Julia showered in the wet and dry partitioned shower space.

The shower door slid open, and Julia wrapped in a large towel stepped out.

James had already squeezed toothpaste onto her toothbrush.

He too quickly took a shower.

By the time they both came out of the bathroom.

They both carried the same scent of shower gel.

Julia sat at the vanity, putting on makeup and through the mirror, watched him buckle his belt and put on a shirt.

Her old face blushed.

Both of their movements were quite fast.

After breakfast, Julia left a message for Sophia Hart, and then she and James left the house.

As they were leaving, Julia asked James to grab her phone while she rummaged through her small bag for lipstick.

Just then, a message popped up on her phone screen.

The phone was in James’s hand, and he glanced down to see the message.

[Julia, this is Noah Quarter, I’m sorry about yesterday.]

The short line of text.

James squinted his eyes.

Just as they stepped into the elevator and found it empty.

"Little Julia, Noah Quarter says he’s sorry about yesterday," James said with a cold snort as he lifted her chin, his face dark, "Did he bother you?"

Julia took her phone back from him, she looked at the message, which came from Alexander Strong’s phone number.

She had already blocked Noah’s number a while ago, and she hadn’t expected him to use Alexander’s phone to send her a message.

Julia Land tiptoed and tried to placate James Thompson first, "He’s lost his mind, don’t worry about him; I even slapped him."

James Thompson gave her a glance, "I’m not that petty, just worried he might hurt you."

She didn’t believe his first statement; Doctor Thompson was definitely jealous.

The latter part about worrying for her, she believed.

Julia deleted the message and sent James Thompson two kisses.

She smiled and checked online where to buy small donkeys.

James Thompson looked down and sent a message to Jasper Winters, "The Quarter Family also has branches abroad. Take Noah Quarter overseas during this period."

Truly an eyesore.

Julia found several stores online that sold small donkeys.

She compared three stores and eventually bought a red small donkey at a discount.

"Mr. Thompson, get on; we are riding it back home today."

She lifted her long leg, sat in the front, and patted the back seat for James Thompson to get on.

James Thompson had longer legs than Julia.

He straddled it, sat down, and the small donkey looked even smaller against him.

"Hold on to my waist; off we go!"

Julia drove this kind of vehicle joyfully, just like when she rode a heavy motorcycle.

James Thompson crammed his legs uncomfortably, wrapping his arms around her waist and leisurely enjoyed the scenery on the roadside.

He didn’t feel he was losing face at all.

After about ten minutes, sirens sounded from behind them.

She pulled over to the side.

A police car passed by, the window rolled down and the officer shouted at them, "Pull over."

"You’re driving illegally without wearing helmets, and this type of electric vehicle shouldn’t carry passengers."

The officer issued Julia a ticket.

Julia sincerely apologized, admitted her fault, and paid the fine.

Once the police had left, she looked up at James Thompson.

James Thompson really wanted to laugh at her but held back.

He ruffled her hair, holding back laughter, "It’s okay, I had Assistant Winters go buy helmets. Wait a bit, and you can ride home yourself."

Julia’s first experience buying a small donkey wasn’t so great; she was slightly superstitious.

"Sophia checked my horoscope for this week, and it wasn’t great, just as expected."

James Thompson put his hands in his pockets and frowned at her, "Don’t believe Sophia Hart; you trust her words?"

Julia didn’t really want to discuss this issue with Mr. Thompson.

Girls sometimes like to read horoscopes and Tarot cards, "You wouldn’t understand."

While Julia was standing on the roadside, distressed about her small donkey’s disappointing inaugural run.

A quarrel erupted in the Langston Family.

*

Today was Saturday, and Stella Langston heard terrible news as soon as she returned home from school.

Her mother was now in police custody.

Julia Land was to blame.

Cory Langston informed her, "Tonight, we are meeting Mr. Wang."

"Dad, I won’t go! I’d rather die than marry an old man."

Stella screamed in tears.

"This isn’t up to you." Cory Langston rubbed his brow, trying to speak calmly to Stella, "Although Mr. Wang is old, he is gentle and caring. Do you want to see our Langston Family ruined?"

If Mr. Wang was the type to beat his wife, Cory might have reconsidered.

Just the thought of having to live under the same roof and share a bed with an old man was unbearable for Stella.

"I won’t do it; don’t force me, brother, can you bear to see your sister marry an old man?"

Victor Langston offered a bitter smile, ruffling his hair, "Stella, we have no choice."

Stella bit her red lip, grabbed her bag, and dashed out of the house.

Cory Langston’s face changed, "Stop Miss Stella."

Unfortunately, Stella was quick, and the servants didn’t dare hurt her.

Stella ran out of her home.
