Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child! -
Chapter 144: Older Brother a Few Days Ago
Chapter 144: Chapter 144: Older Brother a Few Days Ago
"Julia Land seems to be pregnant."
"I saw Noah accompany her to the hospital a few days ago."
When Eliza Quarter spoke the first six words, Leah Thompson had no special reaction.
Julia Land was no longer the daughter-in-law of the Quarter Family, so her pregnancy had nothing to do with them.
However, what Eliza said next did concern them.
"Eliza, what did you just say?"
Leah Thompson couldn’t believe what she had just heard and set down her teacup.
"I saw Noah accompany Julia Land to the hospital a few days ago, and then I had someone inquire about it. I only found out today that Julia Land is pregnant."
Eliza’s face was serious; this Julia Land was really like a ghost that wouldn’t go away.
"What nonsense are you spouting, girl?" Leah’s face also darkened as she spoke sternly, "You must not spout such things outside."
Eliza pouted. "Mom, I’m just telling you, don’t worry, I won’t say anything careless. Do you want to call Noah and ask?"
Leah gave Eliza a stern look and poked her daughter’s forehead with her finger. "Do you really think your brother would tell me this kind of thing?"
She truly regretted now, having left her son with a nanny in his childhood without care, and now she was reaping the bitter fruits.
"Alright then," Eliza checked the time, "Mom, I have to go now."
She heard that Thomas Sullivan would be going to the horse track to watch a race today, and she wanted to go.
The more Leah thought about Eliza’s words, the more troubled she felt. She decided to call her mother to ask how she should handle the situation.
Maya Chant was picking out a gown for the charity event that evening when she received her daughter’s call.
She had put on a little weight around the waist recently and needed to increase her exercise.
"Mom, Eliza just told me that Noah’s ex-wife is pregnant, and he even accompanied that Julia Land to the hospital a few days ago."
In her younger years, Leah was smitten with love and set her sights on Noah’s charming father, Harry Quarter. Their marriage was almost daily filled with disputes until Harry died, and only then did Leah find some peace.
Sometimes, Maya couldn’t help but feel helpless that such a romantically obsessed woman was her daughter.
"Leah, what’s the rush?" Maya’s voice had a gentle lilt characteristic of the Jiangnan region. "If someone is so eager to bear children for Noah, then let her."
"But it just bothers me," Leah cared a lot about appearance.
After her son divorced Julia Land, he got engaged to Arabella Shaw, only for the marriage to be called off shortly after.
Previously, these matters were known only within their circles, but now, due to Arabella being a celebrity, almost all netizens knew about her son.
If everyone found out that her son had a child with his ex-wife, that would indeed sound terrible.
Maya also loved her grandson. She spoke with a sternness in her eyes, "I told you to take good care of the children before, not to spend all your time quarreling with Harry. You didn’t listen. To try to manage Noah now is simply whimsical. Don’t meddle in this affair."
"The Quarter Family isn’t so poor that they can’t support a child. If she gives birth, let her raise the child. Noah is not useless; let him handle it himself."
Maya worried that her daughter might meddle and end up with a rift between mother and son.
Leah sensed the severity in Maya’s words and could only nod in agreement, "I understand. Besides, Eliza likes Chloe Sullivan’s cousin, Thomas Sullivan, but the Sullivan Family has no intention of becoming in-laws with the Quarter Family."
"The family background of the Sullivan Family is quite decent."
Maya thought of Chloe Sullivan, a spirited young woman who was quite savvy in interpersonal affairs.
"I’ll ask Chloe about this. Remember, do not interfere with Noah’s matters. Did you hear?"
Just before hanging up, Maya warned her daughter one more time. She had only one daughter, Leah, in this lifetime; who else could she cherish but her?
"Don’t worry, I understand."

"This charity banquet is organized by the Lewis Family."
Seated in the living room, Maya Chant briefly introduced several families from Capital City to Chloe Sullivan.
In Capital City, the Thompson Family, Moore Family, Lewis Family, and Bell Family were all old-established families.
"The current chairman of the Lewis Family is Chloe Lewis. James Thompson once saved Chloe Lewis, so she will help you appropriately out of respect for James. If you encounter someone from the Moore Family alone, just be cautious."
Maya merely gave a few tips as a personal favor, but it wasn’t her responsibility to go out of her way to help Chloe.
As a secondary wife, Chloe was no fool and expressed her thanks for the kind gesture.
Her status was a bit awkward because she and James Thompson hadn’t registered their marriage, but fortunately, she was the precious daughter of the Sullivan Family of Dunmore City, still considered to be of good family background.
Sophia Hart sat in the living room holding a pillow and watching TV, while Maya Chant and the others were waiting for the time to go to the charity banquet.
When Maya thought of Eliza Quarter, she initiated the conversation with Chloe Sullivan by asking, "Does your cousin, Thomas Sullivan, have a girlfriend yet?"
"No, both of my cousins are single," Chloe replied, curious why the second lady was asking this.
"My granddaughter, Eliza Quarter, is of age to be married, so I’m thinking of starting to look for her," Maya casually mentioned.
It was just a casual mention, as Maya didn’t elaborate.
Chloe suddenly realized it was for Eliza’s sake.
With Eliza’s temperament, Chloe was certain her cousin wouldn’t be interested, but she wouldn’t be so foolish as to say that.
She smiled thinly and said, "I’ll ask my cousin when I get a chance."
When Sophia Hart heard the name Thomas Sullivan, she stared at the TV, her eyes slightly drifting into a daze.

"Mrs. Quarter, let’s go into this store and have a look. I’m shopping for my granddaughter," Mrs. Leah Thompson, a woman with a rich-figure, smilingly said to Leah Thompson, "Your granddaughter, little Sophia, is about the same age as mine."
Leah Thompson replied with a smile, "I’ll also go in and buy something for little Sophia."
Julia Land was wearing a mask, holding a piece of children’s cotton clothing in one hand and a little hat in the other.
She had gone to the hospital for a follow-up appointment today and took the opportunity to buy clothes that the baby would need in the future, all of which she had to prepare gradually.
Julia Land had no experience, and she gathered much information from online searches.
Looking up, she saw Leah Thompson and Mrs. Leah Thompson entering the store.
Leah Thompson didn’t expect to run into Julia Land, and when she saw the infant clothes in Julia’s hands, she paused for a moment.
Julia paid for the clothes and left after checking out.
After she left, Mrs. Leah Thompson quietly asked Leah Thompson, "The clothes Julia Land just bought were for infants, right? Was she buying for someone else, or for herself?"
Mrs. Leah Thompson and Leah Thompson had a good relationship, so she asked so casually.
Leah Thompson smiled subtly, her fingers tightening unconsciously on her purse, "I don’t know, but it’s got nothing to do with the Quarter Family anyway."
"That’s true," Mrs. Leah Thompson agreed. Just as she finished speaking, she looked towards the door and saw Alexander Strong, who had just stepped out of a car.
Mrs. Leah Thompson gently nudged Leah Thompson with her elbow, "Look at the entrance."
Alexander Strong was Noah Quarter’s secretary.
Leah Thompson was holding a piece of children’s clothing and turned her head to look at the door.
Alexander Strong was talking to Julia Land.
Shortly after, the rear car window rolled down.
Leah Thompson saw her son sitting in the back seat and frowned.
Could it be that since James Thompson died and Chloe Sullivan had given birth to the third generation heir of the Thompson Family, Julia Land now wanted to come back and latch onto her son again?
Noah Quarter, sitting in the car, turned his head to look at Julia Land, who was talking with Alexander Strong, his eyes slightly deep.
She was wearing a mask, so he could only judge by her voice that she seemed to be in a much better mental state than a few days ago.
"Remember, it’s next Friday," Alexander Strong finished speaking to Julia Land, he opened the car door and sat in, "You just need to show up, no need to bring a gift."
"Okay."
Alexander Strong’s girlfriend, Lily Grant, had a birthday every year and would invite a few people home for a simple meal. Julia Land, being his former colleague, was invited every year.
Over time, she and Lily Grant had developed a fairly good relationship.
Alexander Strong invited Julia Land to the birthday meal as well to prevent her from being alone.
Alexander Strond drove the car away.
Julia Land too got into her own car and drove off.
Leah Thompson retracted her gaze thoughtfully.
While Mrs. Leah Thompson was picking out clothes, she took out her mobile phone and sent a message to Eliza Quarter.
[Eliza, did you contact someone to inquire about Julia Land’s pregnancy?]
