Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Trash Crash

"Mom, why are you suddenly curious about Julia Land’s pregnancy?"

Eliza had gone to the racetrack but didn’t see Thomas there, and now she was quite frustrated.

She had just received a call from Leah Thompson, which somewhat lifted her spirits.

"Better safe than sorry."

Leah, heeding her mother’s advice, didn’t plan to do much, just to check things out.

Eliza coldly snorted, "I don’t think the child in Julia’s womb could possibly be my brother’s. I just don’t know whose seed it is."

Trevor Sullivan happened to pass right behind Eliza with a few friends and overheard this sentence.

Julia is pregnant???

Trevor slightly frowned.

"Young master, why didn’t you place any bets today?"

They always placed bets to have fun when they came to watch the horse races.

Due to the incident with James Thompson, Trevor had also sent people over to Scott Stronghold’s side to find someone; he was in no mood to play.

Eliza turned around and saw Trevor and his group; she did not see Thomas.

Her spirits fell again as she turned back to continue speaking with Leah on the phone.

Trevor and his group headed for the parking lot, and he told the others, "I have something else to deal with later, I won’t join you for dinner."

He opened the car door, bent down, and sat inside, thought for a moment, then made a call, "Help me check where Noah Quarter’s ex-wife, Julia Land, is living now?"

While waiting for the information, he was originally going to call Chloe Sullivan but then decided to find out more first.

"Miss Land, residing at 3 Faith Road."

Trevor saw the message, started his car, and headed to Faith Road.

*

Julia Land had also called James Knight to inquire about James Thompson.

All the responses were that there was no news.

She hung up the phone, feeling despondent.

The doorbell rang, and Julia confusedly went to see who it was.

When she found Trevor Sullivan at the door,

She instantly thought of Chloe Sullivan.

Julia did not plan on opening the door.

It was somewhat irritating.

Trevor, standing outside, rang the doorbell a few times thinking no one was home, and decided to leave.

He planned to look for Julia again the next day.

*

For three consecutive days, Trevor tried to meet Julia but found no one to open the door.

He eventually realized that Julia was not just out, she did not want to see him.

Probably because of something to do with Chloe Sullivan.

Julia was quite helpless, not understanding why Trevor kept wanting to meet her.

Now, each time she left the house, she first checked whether Trevor was outside.

In the afternoon, it was time to take out the trash.

Julia, carrying a bag of garbage, saw no one outside and then opened the door to go out.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she opened the door, she saw Trevor leaned against the left wall as if he had been waiting for a long time.

"Miss Land, it’s really hard to get a moment with you," Trevor walked toward Julia with his hands in his pockets and a smile, "Can we talk?"

Julia set the bag of garbage at the door, where someone would come to collect it shortly.

She looked at Trevor with a calm expression, "What do you want to talk about?"

She didn’t invite him inside.

The street was deserted at that moment, and Trevor was not choosy about the location.

His gaze fell on Julia’s stomach and he bluntly asked, "Are you pregnant? Is the child James Thompson’s?"

Julia didn’t even glance at Trevor and turned back inside.

So he came here just to ask this question.

Right when Julia was about to close the door, Trevor said, "My cousin already has children from James."

Julia’s heart surged with anger at these words.

"Your cousin’s children are not James’s. She’s clearly carrying Madeline’s children!"

Trevor furrowed his brows, considered Julia’s jealousy typical, and warned, "Miss Land, please don’t spread rumors. The Thompson Family has already acknowledged my cousin’s two children."

Julia took a deep breath, opened the door, and stepped out again, bending down to pick up the bag of garbage she had put down.

She randomly threw it.

Trevor shifted his body, dodging the garbage bag’s attack.

The bag smacked into his car with a thud.

Trevor, "..."

Julia, with a cold face and suppressing her anger, slowly spat out a word, "Leave."

She turned back inside and shut the front door.

Julia leaned against the door, contemplating moving, but she was reluctant to leave this place.

Trevor twisted his brow.

The possibility Julia might be pregnant.

He ought to inform Chloe Sullivan to at least give her a heads-up.

Trevor took out his cellphone and dialed Chloe Sullivan’s number.

Chloe was looking after two children, her phone rang, and seeing Trevor’s call, she asked the nanny to take the children to the backyard before answering.

"Brother Jiang?"

"How are you adjusting over in Capital City?" Trevor bent down to place Julia’s bag of garbage properly, opened his car door, and settled into the vehicle, listening to Chloe talk about life in Capital City.

Chloe, "Brother Jiang, I’m quite alright, just worried about Brother Thompson, as there has been no news of him."

"No news might be good news," Trevor said, with a single hand he pulled out a wet wipe, holding his phone between his cheek and shoulder, "I’ll make time to visit the two children."

He paused, then brought up Julia’s situation.

"Chloe, Julia might be pregnant."

Glass breaking was heard over the phone.

"Chloe?"

"Brother Jiang, I’m fine, I just accidentally knocked over a water glass. What did you just say?"

Trevor mentioned again, "I said Julia might be pregnant," he explained, "I’m telling you this to prepare you, as you’ve always known James likes Julia."

Initially, he had contacted Mr. Thompson senior merely to get the Thompson family to recognize the two children.

However, what he hadn’t expected was that Mr. Thompson senior would publicly acknowledge his cousin’s daughter-in-law officially.

If James finds out upon his return, he would likely be very upset.

Trevor sighed.

He only hoped that, for the sake of the twins, James wouldn’t vent his anger on his cousin.

Chloe’s eyes were calm as she kicked the glass shards on the ground with her shoe tip, "Brother Jiang, are you sure Julia is pregnant?"
