Chapter 74: Gon’s mischievous idea 2

Celia’s brow furrowed as she stepped closer, concern etching deep lines across her delicate features.

She folded her arms across her chest, tilting her head slightly as she regarded the figure before her.

"You shouldn’t be sitting up so soon," she murmured, her voice laced with gentle reprimand, though the worry beneath it was unmistakable.

She moved with quiet urgency, placing a firm yet careful hand on their shoulder as if urging them back down.

"You’ve barely had time to regain your strength. Pushing yourself like this will only make things worse."

"I’m good, I promise," he insisted, determination flickering in his eyes like a stubborn flame.

He shifted slightly, wincing despite himself. "Just help me sit up."

The truth was that as they were talking, he had started to feel better already.

At first, every movement had felt sluggish, his limbs weighed down by exhaustion, but now, a quiet strength was returning to him.

The dull ache in his muscles was fading, replaced by something steadier, something familiar—his body waking up, shaking off the weakness that had held it captive.

The headache had faded away, slipping into nothingness like a bad dream upon waking.

In its place, only the lingering soreness in his bones remained—a dull, persistent ache that pulsed with each breath, but nothing he couldn’t handle.

After all, what was a little soreness compared to everything else he’d endured?

Pain was temporary, just another obstacle to push through.

A faint smirk played at the corner of his lips. Who couldn’t handle a little soreness every now and then?

In fact, he could sit up on his own if he wanted to.

The strength in his limbs had returned enough for that, and the soreness, though persistent, wasn’t enough to hold him back.

If he really tried, he could have pushed himself upright without much trouble.

But that wasn’t the point.

The real reason he had asked Celia for help wasn’t because he needed it, it was because he wanted to be close to her.

With a sigh of reluctant defeat, she stepped forward and slipped an arm behind his back, moving carefully to support him.

"Fine," she murmured, shaking her head. "But if you so much as wobble, I’m making you lie back down."

He smirked slightly, tilting his head toward her. "You know, you’re really good at this whole taking-care-of-me thing," he teased, his voice light, playful, as he watched Celia drop the small vial onto the table with a soft clink.

Whatever mixture she had been holding was momentarily forgotten as she turned her attention back to him.

Without hesitation, she stepped closer, closing the space between them.

The warmth of her presence washed over him, subtle yet unmistakable, and he caught the faintest scent of herbs and something distinctly her.

"Alright," she murmured, placing a steadying hand on his shoulder. "Let’s do this properly."

Gon resisted the urge to grin.

This was exactly what he had wanted, to feel her this close, to let her fuss over him even if she tried to act like she wasn’t.

She placed her hands firmly on his shoulders, her fingers pressing gently but securely against the fabric of his shirt.

Her grip was steady, reassuring, as if silently telling him that she wouldn’t let him fall.

"Okay," she said, her voice calm but encouraging. "On the count of three, you try to sit up, and I’ll pull you up as well."

Gon met her gaze and gave a small nod. He braced himself, shifting slightly, feeling the tension in his arms as he prepared to push himself up.

She took a deep breath, adjusting her stance so she had better leverage.

The air between them felt heavy with anticipation, each second stretching longer as they both prepared for the effort it would take.

"One," she began, her tone measured.

"Two," she continued, her grip on his shoulders tightening ever so slightly.

"Three!"

In unison, Gon pushed upward with as much strength as he could muster while she pulled him toward her.

His muscles burned with the effort, but he felt her strength working with his, guiding him upward, supporting him when his body wanted to falter.

Her grip remained firm, unwavering, until finally, he was upright.

As she pulled, he let his body rise just enough to make the effort seem real, but at the last moment, he slackened completely, as if his strength had suddenly given out.

A quiet, breathy sigh left his lips as he let his body drop, his head tilting slightly as though he had lost consciousness.

As he fell, he reached out and grabbed Celia’s right buttcheek.

Gon almost closed his eyes in bliss of how soft it felt, her butt moulded perfectly into his palm.

Oh~ Celia gasped when she felt him grab her butt.

Gon then quickly let go and pretended like it happened on accident.

Celia had just felt his hand grab her butt but then she remembered the fact that her patient had collapsed back into the bed because he was too weak.

So she tried to forget the grabbing and focus on his health first.

She gasped, her hands instinctively tightening around him. "Gon?" she called, worry flashing across her face as she gave him a small shake.

"what happened?" she asked, her voice unsteady as she stared down at him.

"I... I don’t know," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "I guess... I wasn’t as well as I thought."

His eyelids drooped, and he let his head lull slightly to the side, as if even holding it up was a monumental effort.

Her heart clenched, the frustration she’d felt moments ago wavering. "Gon..." she said, her voice softer now, concern creeping back in.

She placed a hand gently against his forehead, searching for any sign of fever. "You really don’t feel well?"

He gave a slow, shallow nod, though his lips threatened to betray him with the smallest hint of a smile.

"Let me see what I can get for you," she murmured, more to herself than to him, as she turned toward her desk.
