Chapter 66: Koln vs Sera

The next fight was between Sera and Koln

The arena was electric with anticipation, the crowd buzzing with excitement as the next match was announced.

Sera, a lithe figure with striking purple hair and a mischievous grin, stepped into the ring.

Her eyes darted across the arena as she stretched and rolled her shoulders, clearly unbothered by the tension in the air.

She was light on her feet, her movements smooth and fluid, with an almost playful energy to her.

Across from her, Koln was a stark contrast. Muscular and towering, his broad shoulders and chiseled arms made the crowd murmur in awe.

The man had an aura of brute strength around him, his hands wrapped around a pair of chuka sticks, twirling them effortlessly as he cracked his neck.

His gaze was intense, focused, the opposite of Sera’s light-hearted demeanor.

Sera winked at him, a mischievous gleam in her eyes. "I hope you don’t mind a little dance," she teased, stepping forward with a fluid motion. "I’m not here for the usual brawling."

Koln’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he wasn’t rattled.

He tightened his grip on the chuka sticks, ready for whatever she threw at him.

The bell rang.

Sera’s first move was deceptively simple. She darted forward, light as air, with a series of quick jabs aimed at Koln’s upper body, her hands moving in fluid, almost hypnotic motions.

Koln swung his chuka sticks in wide arcs, blocking each blow with ease.

He was fast, especially for a man of his size, but Sera was faster.

"Not bad," Sera teased, her voice breathy and playful. "But you’ll need to do better than that to catch me."

Koln growled, swinging his chuka sticks in a deadly flurry toward her.

The sound of wood cutting through the air was deafening, each strike aimed with deadly precision.

Sera’s eyes sparkled with excitement, dodging and weaving around the attacks with ease.

She moved like a dancer, her body always just out of reach, but there was more to her dodging than just agility.

She knew exactly where to position herself, using her martial arts training to anticipate his strikes.

Each time Koln’s chuka sticks came down, she’d twist her body slightly, her footwork graceful but deliberate.

She wasn’t just avoiding his blows—she was setting herself up for something more.

"Too slow," Sera teased again, her grin widening. She danced out of range just as Koln’s sticks slammed down where she had been standing a second ago.

Koln’s frustration began to build. He lunged toward her, using his superior strength to propel his chuka sticks in a quick, overwhelming series of strikes.

Sera dodged again, but this time, her foot slipped.

Koln’s eyes lit up. He saw his opening.

He brought the chuka sticks down in a thunderous overhead swing, aiming to crush her with the force of the blow.

Sera’s eyes widened for a split second, but instead of trying to dodge, she ducked just under the swing and rolled forward, right into Koln’s space.

In a flash, Sera’s fingers jabbed into a pressure point just beneath his shoulder. Koln’s body jolted, his muscles locking up for just a fraction of a second—a momentary lapse. That was all Sera needed.

Without hesitation, she sprang forward, using her momentum to spin and slam the heel of her palm into the side of his ribcage. A well-placed strike, focused entirely on the weak spot, and Koln’s breath whooshed out of him.

He staggered back, disoriented, trying to shake off the sting, but Sera wasn’t done. She moved with such precision and speed that it was as if she had anticipated his every move.

Her fingers found the next pressure point, this time in his neck.

A quick jab, and Koln’s arm suddenly went limp, the strength draining from it.

"What...?" Koln started, but before he could recover, Sera’s foot shot out, landing squarely on his knee.

The joint buckled under the force, sending him to the ground in a grunt of pain.

Koln tried to rise, but Sera was already there, her foot on his chest, pinning him down with a smile that was both playful and victorious.

"Nice try," she said, as her eyes twinkled. "But you’re just too strong for your own good."

The crowd gasped, watching in stunned silence as Koln grunted, his limbs stiff from the well-placed strikes.

It was as if Sera had completely taken him apart, piece by piece, with nothing but her speed, precision, and knowledge of the human body.

Koln glared up at her, but there was no fight left in him. His body simply wouldn’t respond to his commands.

He couldn’t move, couldn’t even breathe properly.

The pressure points she’d struck were shutting his body down, forcing him into submission.

"You... you’re good," Koln muttered, his voice strained, unable to summon the strength to push her off.

Sera flashed him a grin, then bowed slightly as the referee approached. "Just a little lesson in finesse," she said, before stepping off of him. "You were strong, but you weren’t fast enough."

Koln didn’t argue. There was nothing he could say as he lay there, breathing heavily.

The crowd watched expectantly, waiting for him to surrender but Koln looked reluctant to say the words.

Sera’s smile faltered a little. You have to say you yield. She said to him.

Koln grunted in distaste but he didn’t say anything.

Sera’s smile grew wide again. Fine, have it your way. She said.

Then she brought her hand down with a hard smack on his forehead.

Koln crumpled to the ground and remained motionless.

Sera was announced the winner.

Gon frowned, the skin over his forehead wrinkling. Was Koln dead or unconscious?

He knew the rules. The mage either had to die or surrender.

Did that mean Koln was dead? Was he so stubborn that he would rather die than surrender?

And what would one call that behavior? Pride or stupidity?

The bigger question came to Gon suddenly. If he was in that situation, what would he choose?
