Chapter 106: Dina in my room??

The two of them had survived this far. It was very that they would eventually face each other.

Milo knew it, Gon could feel it.

But Gon wasn’t interested in whatever game Milo was trying to play.

He frowned, his expression cool and unimpressed, making it clear that he wasn’t going to be baited.

If Milo was trying to get into his head, he was wasting his time.

Gon would fight if he had to, when the time came. But until then, his focus was elsewhere.

He needed to get more points, more experience and more strength.

That was all that mattered now.

As the tournament came to a close, Gon made his way back to his room, his steps steady but heavy with exhaustion.

The noise of the arena faded behind him, replaced by the quiet hum of the hallway.

His body ached, his limbs felt weighed down, and his mind buzzed with everything that had happened that day.

But right now, there was only one thing he wanted,a bath.

Without pausing, he entered the bathroom, peeling off his sweat-soaked clothes with slow, tired movements.

The moment he stepped under the cold water, he finally allowed himself to relax.

The chill spread over his skin, washing away the heat and tension from the battle.

His muscles loosened, his breathing slowed, and for the first time since the fight ended, he let himself just exist.

No strategy, no calculations, just the simple relief of water cooling his aching body.

He closed his eyes, letting the droplets cascade down his face.

The exhaustion was still there, but for now, at least, the bath was enough.

Gon let out a contented sigh as the last of the cool water dripped from his skin.

His body still ached, but the tension had eased, leaving him feeling lighter.

He dried himself off quickly, changed into fresh clothes, and stepped out of the bathroom.

The moment he entered his room, he stopped dead in his track.

Dina was sitting on his bed.

She looked completely at ease, legs crossed, one hand flipping lazily through the pages of a journal she had picked up from his table.

Her other hand propped up her chin as she read, her expression bored, as if she had been waiting for far too long.

Dina looked up as he walked in, her eyes resting on his bare upper body for a fraction of a second before flicking back to the journal in her hands.

Gon, however, noticed.

A sudden awareness crept over him, and he instinctively grabbed a shirt from the nearest chair, pulling it over his head in one swift motion. "What are you doing here?" he demanded, his voice sharper than he intended.

Dina shrugged, utterly unbothered. "The wing for the guests is boring," she said simply, as if that explained everything.

Gon gave her a flat look. "And I’m not?" His tone was clearly unimpressed.

"Well, this journal is slightly boring," Dina purred, flipping through the pages with an air of exaggerated laziness.

She let the paper slip between her fingers, as if she had all the time in the world to waste on something so ordinary. "But I think it’s bearable."

Gon’s patience snapped.

He strode across the room, swift and deliberate, and snatched the journal from her hands in one sharp motion.

The sudden movement caused a faint rustle of pages as the book was pulled from her grasp.

"It is not boring or bearable," he said through clenched teeth, his grip tightening around the worn cover. His eyes, dark with irritation, bore into her, daring her to challenge him. "It is a very interesting report."

Dina tilted her head, her lips curving into a small, knowing smirk. "If you say so."

Unbothered by his frustration, she rose to her feet with effortless ease, stretching her arms behind her before moving around the room.

Her steps were light, soundless, her movements smooth and deliberate, almost feline.

She ran her fingers along the edge of the wooden desk, tapping it lightly as if testing its sturdiness.

She paused by the window, gazing outside for a brief moment before shifting her attention to a stack of neatly folded clothes on a chair.

With a careless flick of her fingers, she lifted the topmost piece, a dark training tunic, and examined it with mild interest before letting it drop back into place.

Gon stood stiffly, his fingers still gripping the journal, watching Dina move through his space like she belonged there.

He wasn’t used to this.

His room had always been just that, his.

A place where he could be alone, where everything was exactly as he left it. No unwanted footsteps, no idle hands picking through his things, no one making themselves at home where they shouldn’t be.

And yet, Dina moved as if none of that mattered.

She trailed her fingers across his desk, barely brushing the surface, but to Gon, it felt like an intrusion.

She glanced at his bookshelf, scanning the spines of his carefully arranged books as if she could understand him just by looking.

Then she wandered toward the weapons stand, tilting her head slightly as she eyed the polished blade resting there.

Gon’s muscles tensed.

He didn’t know what to feel, or how to react.

He exhaled sharply and sat down on the bed, resting his elbows on his knees as he watched Dina sift through his belongings.

She moved at her own pace, unhurried and deliberate, picking things up, turning them over, then setting them back down without a care.

It wasn’t even that she was truly interested, she was testing him, seeing how far she could go before he stopped her.

But Gon didn’t move. He just sat there, arms loosely resting on his thighs, his gaze never leaving her.

After a while, Dina finally turned back to him. She tilted her head slightly, her golden eyes gleaming with amusement.

Then, with an exaggerated shake of her head, she sighed.

"Nothing interesting."
