Chapter 438: Chapter 468, Pledge (6th Update)

"If," just suppose, "if one day someone steps on you and asks you who’s your father, what would you do?" The young man gave the most correct answer.

"Yes! I am!" In the midst of his terror, the young man practically blurted out without hesitation.

"What name?"

"Buck!"

"How old are you?"

"Twenty-three."

"Do you have any STDs?"

"Uh..." This question left Buck speechless.

Beside him, Yao Bo leaned in and said, "Brother Yi, that’s a pretty tricky question you’re asking."

Fang Yi didn’t pay him any attention and continued, "Do you want to keep this thing of yours?"

Buck nodded like a pecking chicken.

"Don’t want to? I can satisfy you."

A myriad of curses raced through Buck’s mind, but before he could speak again, Fang Yi stepped down hard. In an instant, Buck let out a hysterical and exhausted scream that echoed through the entire camp.

For a moment, Yao Bo and all the Dragon Soul members gritted their teeth in sympathy; being men, they could understand Buck’s agony. They silently mourned in their hearts that the Dragon Master was indeed inhumane.

The ensuing matters no longer required Fang Yi’s attention, and he couldn’t be bothered to deal with them, so he hurried back to pick up Cai Qin.

The conditions here were a bit better, and there were medicines for wounds. Fang Yi applied some to Cai Qin’s abdominal injuries and wrapped her with bandages, then fell asleep next to her.

The next morning, Fang Yi felt a tickling sensation in his nose, slowly waking up only to see Cai Qin quickly turning her back to him, pretending to be sound asleep. However, her finger was still tangled with a strand of black hair, indicating she had just been teasing him with it.

Fang Yi sat up and said, "It’s such a nice day today."

"..."

Cai Qin showed no sign of "waking" up.

Oh, still playing dead, huh? I’ll need to give you a taste of your own medicine. A mischievous smile crossed Fang Yi’s face as he suddenly reached out and, with a slap, smacked Cai Qin’s shapely and firm buttocks. Even through the black leather pants, he could feel the extreme softness and elasticity.

Cai Qin could no longer feign sleep, and she woke up, abruptly sitting up. But before she could glare at him, the pain from her wounds forced her to grimace, erasing any fierce expression she might have held.

Fang Yi just laughed.

Silently, Cai Qin reached out and pinched the flesh on Fang Yi’s arm.

Fang Yi quickly pleaded for mercy, "I’ll stop laughing."

"What if you laugh again?" Cai Qin asked.

"If I laugh again..." Fang Yi replied, "then... I’ll offer myself to you."

"Get lost!"

Fang Yi really did get lost, leaving Cai Qin to rest in the room.

Stepping outside, Fang Yi only saw bodies scattered everywhere, a sight of utter devastation.

In truth, last night Fang Yi hadn’t killed many people; it was mostly the members of Dragon Soul who did the killing. For them, it was a good exercise, and fortunately, no one died, though a few were injured.

Dragon Soul was Fang Yi’s army. He had given a lot to Dragon Soul in the past, and now it was finally paying off.

Fang Yi lit a cigarette and suddenly noticed many people from the nearby tribes wandering the battlefield. Most of them had lost limbs, their complexions were sallow, and their bodies weak.

"They are residents from nearby settlements, who have been oppressed by Suotun’s draconian policies. Now that these villains are finally dead, they’re coming to pick through the spoils of war," said a voice carrying a hint of playfulness.

Fang Yi turned his head and looked at Li Xue with a smile, his expression half-mocking, "You were quite arrogant last night."

Li Xue’s smile immediately froze on her face, slightly embarrassed as if shy, "Not at all."

Fang Yi said, "How come you didn’t die in the hail of bullets last night?"

Li Xue’s beautiful eyes widened in an instant, "Do you wish I was dead?"

Fang Yi replied indifferently, "First come, first served. I just hope you don’t make people worry so much. I don’t want there to be a next time."

Li Xue, like a mischievous child, bowed her head slightly, "Got it." Then she playfully stuck out her tongue.

However, Fang Yi didn’t see it.

Afterward, Fang Yi went to look for Yao Bo and the others. They were all gathered together in a room, including Zhou Haotian and Wang Ting. When Fang Yi walked in, everyone perked up, intentionally solemn.

Fang Yi sat down and asked, "Did that Suotun confess everything?"

"He did."

Yao Bo said, "But... the people from Xuan Cang who were kidnapped, they’re not here anymore."

Fang Yi raised an eyebrow, "What happened?"

Yao Bo explained, "That Suotun said that yesterday morning, the hostages were taken away to the lair of Songcai, not a single hostage left behind. So, all of them are in Songcai’s headquarters now."

Fang Yi frowned, "And who exactly is this Songcai?"

Yao Bo didn’t have an answer, but Zhou Haotian stepped forward and said, "Songcai is one of the major warlords of Xianghua City."

Fang Yi glanced at Zhou Haotian, "Tell me more?"

The night before, Fang Yi had rescued Zhou Haotian and Wang Ting, so now Zhou Haotian bore no grudge against Fang Yi and there were no barriers between them. He nodded and said:

"There are three main warlords in Xianghua City who are beyond the government’s control. Since Xianghua City is naturally a chaotic region, these warlords act without fear of reprisal and are heavily involved in drug trafficking, reaping huge profits. Songcai is one of them, forty-five years old, with a son named Buck, who is the person we caught last night."

Fang Yi stroked his chin, deep in thought, while nobody made a sound to avoid disturbing him.

After a moment of contemplation, Fang Yi spoke slowly, "Rescuing those hostages is the top priority. Everyone get ready, we will set out for Songcai’s headquarters."

Zhou Haotian was shocked and hastily said, "Songcai is a powerful local warlord. If we just barge in there, he’ll definitely be prepared."

Fang Yi gave him a sideways glance, "You can stay behind if you want."

Regardless, Fang Yi was determined to go; capturing Songcai was the only way to find out Lin Shang’s whereabouts.

At the same time, there was suddenly a lot of noise coming from outside.

Fang Yi stood up and headed for the door, while Zhou Haotian and Wang Ting wore peculiar expressions.

"How dare you not let me in? I am the captain of the Dragon Team’s squad, the leader of this mission. Who do you think you are, daring to oppose the Dragon Team?"

As Fang Yi approached the doorway, he heard this voice.

When Fang Yi stepped out of the house, he saw Nangong Feiyu outside, causing a commotion, trying hard to push his way in, but being blocked by a member of the Dragon Soul.

Nangong Feiyu, who had been shouting loudly, suddenly looked as if he’d seen a ghost and like a cat that had its tail stepped on when he saw Fang Yi emerge from the house. His face changed dramatically as he cried out in surprise, "Fang Yi?! What are you doing here?!"

"What I do is none of your damn business!" Fang Yi said dismissively.

"You... you dare talk to me like that?!" Nangong Feiyu was infuriated, visibly furious and then saw Zhou Haotian and Wang Ting following out behind Fang Yi, immediately shouting, "Zhou Haotian, Wang Ting, you traitors! I order you to arrest him right now!"

Zhou Hao and Wang Ting remained indifferent. Fang Yi said flatly, "If you want to work with me, you need to show your pledge."

Zhou Haotian was silent for a while then said, "I understand."

After speaking, Zhou Haotian looked sharply at Nangong Feiyu and walked straight toward him.

"Zhou Haotian, you traitor!" Nangong Feiyu was no fool; he sensed what Zhou Haotian intended to do, but he couldn’t understand why Zhou Haotian would side with Fang Yi.
