Chapter 394: Chapter 420: A Bow and a Kiss

Xu He had just stopped eating with her chopsticks when she slowly started moving them again, as a way to ease the awkward atmosphere in her heart. She remained silent, giving no reply, but how could Xu’s parents not understand their daughter’s temperament? They both sighed.

It wasn’t a sigh over a bad fate, but rather a sigh that their daughter was too shy to pursue her true love.

Xu’s mother said, "Hehe, you’re a big star now, and your dad and I can see you on TV every day. You like little Fang, but where is the courage you have in front of a camera? Let me tell you..."

At that, Xu’s mother leaned closer and whispered, "That Miss Kong, she’s certainly a fox spirit. Don’t be scared. Go for it boldly, we support you."

Originally looking quite worried, Xu He couldn’t help but laugh and cry when hearing the words "fox spirit", and she couldn’t help but lift her head and say, "Mom, what are you talking about? Your daughter has grown up. I know what to do."

Xu’s mother wanted to say more, but Xu’s father grabbed her, saying, "Our daughter is grown up, let her handle it."

Xu’s mother had no choice but to say no more.

The next morning, Fang Yi woke up early as usual. After washing up, he went out to the yard to practice boxing.

During this time, busy with Shen Binnan and Xu He’s affairs, Fang Yi had forgotten his boxing practice. Now having some spare time, he finally resumed his training in the yard.

Starting with the Eight Extremes Fist, Fang Yi repeated the sequence. Now at the Earth Level second stage, he could perform the Eighth Extreme of the Eight Extremes Fist, whose power was fully unleashed by Fang Yi, no weaker than the boxing techniques of Martial Arts clans hidden from the secular world.

Early in the morning, the yard was still cool before the sun had risen, and Fang Yi quickly broke into a sweat.

After finishing the Eight Extremes Fist, Fang Yi took off his outer clothing, revealing his sturdy upper body, and then started practicing the "Mountain Breaking".

At some point, Old Master Xu had come out with his old tape recorder. Seeing Fang Yi practicing, he placed the recorder on the ground, collapsed into the wicker chair, and chuckled, "Little Fang, nice physique. You must have practiced since you were a kid, right?"

Fang Yi answered while practicing, "Yes, that’s right."

Old Master Xu said, "It’s good for young people to have spirit. No wonder my granddaughter likes you."

Fang Yi stopped and walked over to Old Master Xu, taking a small stool to sit next to him, and said, "Grandfather Xu, you’re exaggerating."

Old Master Xu chuckled and said, "Not at all. I understand my granddaughter’s temperament very well. Would you like me to tell you more about it?"

Fang Yi replied, "Sure."

But just then, Xu He came out of the house carrying a basin of water. Seeing her about to talk at length, Old Master Xu instantly shut his mouth.

Xu He also saw the two sitting together, glanced at them briefly, then turned and walked to the stone platform, put down the basin, washed her face, and then started combing her hair.

For some reason, Xu He felt her hair was particularly uncooperative today and suddenly threw the wooden comb onto the ground.

Old Master Xu gave Fang Yi a meaningful look, and Fang Yi, with a forced smile, stood up and walked over, saying, "Xu He, what’s wrong?"

"Nothing." Xu He replied curtly.

Watching Xu He’s irritable demeanor, Fang Yi touched his nose. Though Xu He was a big star, she was too bad at hiding her emotions. Her behavior clearly showed she was angry.

Fang Yi bent down, picked up the wooden comb from the ground, took it to the water to wash and dry it, and then said, "Let me help you comb your hair."

Xu He didn’t know why, but she felt irritable and depressed, which led her to behave like that.

At that moment, when Fang Yi said so, Xu He’s agitation swept away. When she saw the smile on Fang Yi’s face, she inexplicably felt nervous. Thinking back on her unprovoked anger earlier, Xu He’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and she quickly shook her head.

However, Fang Yi had already brought over a stool. With no other choice, Xu He sat down on it. Her long shapely legs slightly came together, her pale delicate fingers interlocked over her thighs, resting there quietly and gracefully.

Fang Yi took up a wooden comb and began combing through Xu He’s cascading black hair. Standing behind her, he had to lower his head slightly, allowing him to see her slender, fragrant shoulders, smooth and creamy like milk. He also caught a glimpse of her chest—not overly full, but certainly not flat either—which stirred a few wayward thoughts in Fang Yi, reminding him of the time he’d stealthily watched her outside the pigsty that night.

Thinking this, Fang Yi couldn’t help but feel restless. Early in the morning, right after he had practiced his boxing, his body still radiated heat, and now he was even feeling a bit aroused, which he found both amusing and embarrassing.

"You..." Xu He suddenly spoke, hesitating to continue.

"What?"

"What is your relationship with Miss Kong?" Xu He puffed her cheeks a little, finally gathering the courage to ask.

Fang Yi was startled for a moment, then chuckled, "A confidante."

"A confidante..."

Xu He slightly parted her lips, gently muttering those words, then fell silent once again.

Combing the hair of a beautiful woman was a first for Fang Yi, and he had to admit, it was rather enjoyable.

During this, Fang Yi hadn’t noticed that from the second floor, Kong Qingci was standing by the window, eyeing the scene in the courtyard with great intensity.

"Well, aren’t you a flirt," Kong Qingci muttered to herself, somewhat grinding her teeth.

After breakfast, Fang Yi decided to leave, as Xu He’s issue had been resolved and he had his own matters to attend to. Therefore, he took Kong Qingci along to say their goodbyes.

Standing at the courtyard gate, Xu He said, "I’ll head back in a couple of days. Once I return to Moon City, I’ll treat you to a meal."

Fang Yi laughed, "No need for a meal. I’ve been mooching off your food these past few days. You haven’t kicked me out, which is satisfaction enough for me."

Xu He rolled her eyes at him, then turned to Kong Qingci, "Miss Kong, let’s meet again in Moon City."

Kong Qingci detected the underlying tension in those words and replied with a light smile, "I look forward to Miss Xu’s arrival."

After leaving Qingshan Village, Fang Yi called Shen Binan, learned that everything had been sorted out on his end, and so he drove directly back to Moon City, dropping Kong Qingci off at the Kong Family house.

However, just short of reaching the Kong Family residence, Kong Qingci asked Fang Yi to stop the car.

Under Fang Yi’s puzzled gaze, Kong Qingci said, slightly embarrassed, "Our relationship is not yet suitable to be made public. If my family found out, they might be displeased with you, so..."

Fang Yi smiled gently, "I understand."

Yet, this smile made Kong Qingci’s heart tighten, and she quickly added, "It’s not that I mind you being without money or having no prestigious family background, it’s just..." Her explanation grew increasingly tangled, and her pretty face seemed flustered.

Fang Yi couldn’t help but laugh, reaching out to pull Kong Qingci towards him.

Kong Qingci’s pretty face rested against Fang Yi’s chest. She looked up, her face showing a hint of grievance, flushed like she was intoxicated, her eyes misty as the autumn waters.

Seeing Kong Qingci like this, Fang Yi could no longer restrain himself, and leaned down to kiss her.
