Chapter 190: Chapter 188, Pure and Bright Plum Blossoms

"He must have run away," Fang Yi said as he walked over and picked up the knife.

"This guy is pretty harsh on himself," Song Wuliang gasped with surprise.

Being able to pull out a knife that had pierced through the thigh, without making a sound, and then managing to run away, indeed showed severity. Not only harsh to others but to himself as well—such an adversary is the most troublesome.

However, now was not the time to worry about that. Holding the knife, Fang Yi looked at Song Wuliang and said, "Can you walk?"

Baring his teeth and grimacing, Song Wuliang said, "I can walk, but my butt hurts a bit."

Fang Yi replied, "If you did fewer despicable deeds in the future, it wouldn’t hurt so much."

Having said that, Fang Yi headed back in the direction they had come from, meeting Lin Mengyan and Yiyi on the way, and then the group made their way towards the peak of Broken Dragon Mountain.

The lighting had been restored here, but it was a complete mess, like the aftermath of a wild party.

Just as Fang Yi and his group had returned, a bunch of people ran over and stopped Fang Yi.

"What’s the meaning of this! Looking for a fight, are you?" Song Wuliang shouted.

"Hmph! Fatso, shut your damn mouth," a young man retorted coldly.

"Motherfucker, who are you calling fatso? I hate that nickname the most," Song Wuliang rolled up his sleeves, ready to fight.

But at that moment, a middle-aged man stepped forward, his face overcast, his eyes sharp as swords, staring at Fang Yi.

"You actually dared to cripple Bai Kuang’s arm! I will cripple one of your arms," the middle-aged man said coldly.

"Evidence?" Fang Yi replied indifferently.

"Do we even need evidence? Fang Yi, your actions are simply despicable!"

"Bai Young Master has already lost, and yet you still chose to cripple his arm. Are you trying to provoke the entire Bai Family?" someone agitated from the shadows, clearly trying to stir up trouble.

Fang Yi let out a cold laugh. Although the person was hidden in the crowd, Fang Yi still glanced in that direction, causing the man to immediately hide within the crowd and dared not speak again.

"You crippled Bai Kuang’s arm, so I will cripple one of yours," said the middle-aged man.

The next moment, the middle-aged man made a move towards Fang Yi.

When an Earth Level master attacked, his speed was like lightning, impossible to block.

Fang Yi was enraged!

The lights had gone out just a moment before, and this middle-aged man had taken that opportunity to try and kill Fang Yi. If it hadn’t been for Fang Yi’s quick reflexes, he probably would have been killed already. Fang Yi didn’t bring up that topic, but now the middle-aged man had made the first move, how could Fang Yi not be furious?

Even though he was outmatched, Fang Yi still had to fight; he couldn’t just sit there and wait for death.

The middle-aged man reached out with a palm, his palm wind turbulent, as fast as lightning.

Fang Yi’s right fist condensed with energy, no hesitation, he threw a punch directly.

Mountain Breaking!

With this punch, the force was like a mighty wave, Fang Yi channeled all his Inner Strength into his right fist.

Boom!

An invisible blast of air exploded, causing the people around to involuntarily retreat and scatter.

The middle-aged man’s palm felt numb, and his blood and qi churned for a moment. His complexion showed a slight surprise, but it quickly changed into a sneer, "It’s just a futile resistance!"

He sneered continuously. Although Fang Yi’s move had surprised him, that was all there was to it.

And inside, Fang Yi felt both anger and helplessness, the gap between the two was simply too great.

The middle-aged man sneered as he stepped forward, about to grab Fang Yi’s collar, while the knife in Fang Yi’s hand trembled slightly; he couldn’t possibly just give up without a fight.

"Stop!" A stern shout came through.

The crowd automatically parted, and an unrespectable elder walked through.

Most of the people recognized this elder and made way for him as if afraid of catching bad luck. Song Wuliang’s expression turned weird, and he muttered under his breath, "Damn, what the hell does my idiot grandpa want to do?"

The Song patriarch strode over and shot a sideways glance at the middle-aged man before flicking his wrist and saying, "Get lost."

With that remark, the entire venue fell silent.

The middle-aged man, who previously radiated arrogance and dominance, now wore a deeply unattractive sullen expression: "Patriarch Song, this matter is between him and me. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t interfere."

Patriarch Song chuckled, "Bullying the weak, overpowering the young—I can’t stand to watch such things. So I thought, why not interfere? What’s wrong, you have a problem with that?"

Although Patriarch Song seemed a bit disreputable, he was incredibly imposing and domineering at this moment.

However, given Patriarch Song’s status, he certainly had the clout to back him up. After all, the Song family was one of Rongcheng’s four great families, closely rivaling the Bai Family.

The Song family may not advocate martial training, but many within the Song family held ranks within the military, and their influence was certainly nothing to scoff at.

The middle-aged man slightly lowered his proud head. He was an Earth Level master, but dare he defy Patriarch Song?

"Ha, abide by the rules if you gamble. If you lose and still pester, I really can’t stand people like you! You agreed to a fight to the death, and now, merely crippling that young punk Bai Kuang’s arm is already merciful. If you can’t afford to play, don’t play. If you play and renege, what a joke."

Patriarch Song continued his verbal assault.

"Enough, Patriarch Song," a cold voice said as the Bai patriarch approached.

"Patriarch Bai, did I say anything wrong?" Patriarch Song forcefully retorted.

"No," Patriarch Bai turned his head away.

"Since I’m right, then take your people and leave. Honor the bet, and if you can’t afford it, just get lost," Patriarch Song said extremely arrogantly.

The middle-aged man clenched his fists, his forehead veins bulging as he strained to contain himself.

"Song Wuliang, your grandpa’s pretty badass, huh? Could he take a hit?" Fang Yi couldn’t help but worry a bit for Patriarch Song, fearing he couldn’t withstand a punch from the middle-aged man.

"I’d really like to see him get hit," muttered Song Wuliang. "Damn it, even more arrogant than me."

Fang Yi couldn’t help but laugh. This grandfather and grandson were cut from the same cloth, both infuriating in their ways.

But in the end, the middle-aged man dared not raise a hand against Patriarch Song, who was of the same generation as Patriarch Bai—he simply didn’t dare.

"Bai Zhan, let’s go," said Patriarch Bai and turned to leave immediately.

"Patriarch Song, I take my leave," Bai Zhan bowed with a fist, but his tone was unmistakably frustrated and displeased.

"Why the arrogance? Come on then, if you disagree, let’s see it," Patriarch Song provocatively said, not letting things slide.

However, the crowd acted as if they heard nothing, dispersing one by one.

Fang Yi was speechless; this demeanor, this attitude—Song Wuliang and Patriarch Song were indeed two peas in a pod.

"Ha-ha," laughed Patriarch Song turning around to face Fang Yi. He walked over with a friendly slap on Fang Yi’s shoulder, "Not bad, kid."

Fang Yi’s smile twitched, "Still, Patriarch Song’s presence and dominance are truly remarkable, I have nothing but admiration."

"Of course!" Patriarch Song said, not a hint of modesty.

"Patriarch Song, there’s an urgent matter I must attend to. I’ll find a way to repay this favor another time. Since your grandson is here, I won’t disturb you two any longer. Goodbye." With that, Fang Yi gave Lin Mengyan a look and quickly left.

"Hey, hey, you two, that’s not very friendly..." Song Wuliang attempted to run but was firmly caught by Patriarch Song.

"My dear grandson."

"Patriarch, go ahead, I’m listening," Song Wuliang said with a sour face.

...

Fang Yi, with Lin Mengyan in tow, hurriedly left soon encountering Elder Lin. Thus, he let Lin Mengyan go with Elder Lin and continued his search for Shen Binnan.

In the noisy crowd, it was hard to find her, but as they say, effort pays off. After half an hour, Fang Yi finally found Shen Binnan standing in the shadow under a searchlight.

Shen Binnan, standing in the shadow cast by the searchlight, had an ethereal beauty about her, like a pristine plum blossom, quiet and lovely.

Fang Yi couldn’t help stepping forward, smiling warmly as he approached her.

(Dear extras, don’t just play rich kids or brothers of the protagonist. We need some villains too, alright?)
