Chapter 646: Chapter 646: Plane Divine Artifact, White Bone Tentacles
Treasure boxes were Fang Jie’s undeniable domain, for only they embodied the utmost uncertainty.
Other rewards could usually be anticipated to a certain extent, thus they hardly ever offered surprises.
Only treasure boxes, due to their randomness, truly represented and condensed the World Laws. This was his first time leading an inter-dimensional campaign and he eradicated many Lords in one fell swoop.
It would only be fair to expect some valuable spoils for himself.
Fang Jie walked straight to the warehouse and began to open treasure boxes. While the contents weren’t bad per se, they were somewhat disappointing to him.
"What’s going on here, why so many pieces of equipment with probabilistic effects?"
Fang Jie didn’t know if it was because of the enemies he faced or if the world itself was attuned to that sort. The items that emerged tended to include a lot of probability-based effects.
Many of them were also of a large-scale nature, suited for army equipment.
"Forget it, let’s see later who among the commanders would like to use them, since some do prefer this kind of equipment."
As Fang Jie continued to open boxes, unfortunately, most of the items were useless.
After some effort, a few gold-level soldier blueprints emerged but none were from the Undead System, leaving him puzzled. He decided to simply keep these items as part of his foundations.
Further into the process, two sets of Undead Troop plans appeared.
Unfortunately, even though they were gold-level, they were duplicates of his troops and not anything special.
With no better options, Fang Jie tucked them away for potential future use, though he was unsure if they would be useful.
Nearing his wits’ end with the treasure boxes, Fang Jie was about to give up hope. The contents so far were far from treasures; none were even mildly intriguing.
However, nearing the end, Fang Jie suddenly stopped. "No way, it can’t be."
He gawked at a blueprint in his hands.
"A Plane Divine Artifact, White Bone Tentacles, and there are actually blueprints for a Divine Artifact? Shouldn’t this be a unique treasure? How come there are blueprints?" Fang Jie was puzzled.
Generally speaking, anything termed a ’Divine Artifact’ was a specific treasure.
It seems there were still things he didn’t know. This kind of Plane Divine Artifact might be meant for construction. Of course, some might require construction while others might not. In any case, Fang Jie lacked information on this aspect.
"It’s really true, with this one item, it’s totally worth the ticket price."
Given that the previous items weren’t of much value, even if they were all empty, this single item had now made Fang Jie’s venture worthwhile.
Fang Jie collected the blueprint and examined the introduction.
White Bone Tentacles (Plane Divine Artifact): Formed from immense white bone tentacles extending beyond the plane. Capable of detecting external plane presences and accelerating inter-dimensional travel, with abilities to attack and aid in devouring other planes.
Construction requirements: 1 unit of Demigod Corpse, 100 units of Legendary Corpse Bones, 500,000,000 units of Corpse Bones, 500,000,000 spiritual points, 1 unit of City-level Territory, construction time 3 months.
"A City-level Territory is needed, but it seems it doesn’t have to be an Affiliated Territory; even upgrading from other Lords’ Cottages works," Fang Jie nodded.
The resources for each construction in his Affiliated Territories doubled, which progressively became exorbitantly expensive. Fang Jie resented such waste and had limited its use; up to now, there had only been a few of his Affiliated Territories constructed.
Although he possessed a Demigod Corpse, it was barely enough for upgrades, let alone construction of this magnitude.
Yet, to upgrade a territory, a Plane Divine Artifact was essential, so it seemed he had to proceed with its creation.
As for the 100 units of Legendary Corpse Bones, that wasn’t an issue—he had plenty. Since he couldn’t directly create Legendary-level troops, those Legendary Corpses were just stored in his warehouse for now.
Now, they could be used, ensuring none would go to waste.
As for the Corpse Bones and spiritual points, five hundred million units of each was a massive amount, but Fang Jie could manage it. Not to mention the resources he had accumulated during his campaign exceeded these requirements.
Then there was the three months of construction time, the longest duration for any structure.
Previously, buildings and troops took at most a couple of days to construct.
Except maybe large fortresses, but those were just peripheral structures that took longer. The White Bone Tentacles, however, required a full three months just for the core construction.
"It looks like I need to initiate the construction of White Bone Tentacles quickly. I have two Demigod Corpses; for now, let’s just make one. At least, not until I reach Demigod Level to see if I can obtain more."
Fang Jie shook his head and gave instructions to start construction in the Southern side, near Mist Canyon, to test the functionality.
As for constructing in this plane, he couldn’t, because his Main Territory wasn’t available here.
This turned out to be an undisclosed condition—a fact Fang Jie realized after some testing.
Following Fang Jie’s command, the massive amount of cleared Corpse Bones wasn’t sent to the warehouse but was directly transported through the local channels to another territory, where it was processed in the Corpse Processing Plant before use.
Later, realizing the inconvenience, Fang Jie simply constructed many more Corpse Processing Plants on the other side, at least to reduce some hassle. Constant movement of corpses through channels also consumed a significant portion of the channel space.
Meanwhile, the territory under the Alliance had mostly settled down.
Loads of data from Functional Buildings had finally reached Fang Jie’s hands.
Looking over these items caused him heartfelt pain. "Ah, these damn fools, most good items have been destroyed by them." There was no helping it; those people had destroyed things thoroughly.
Perhaps they thought they were going to die, or maybe they couldn’t stand the thought of their possessions falling into lesser hands, leading them to utterly demolish the items.
He obtained their territories, but not the blueprints they once held.
Unless the constructed buildings based on the blueprints remained intact, only then could the blueprints be restored. This required time, but if even the buildings were gone, then truly nothing would be left.
