Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission
Chapter 635: Uncompromising Firm Stance

Chapter 635: Chapter 635: Uncompromising Firm Stance

Fang Jie was studying spells, while the battlefield in the valley raged on without cease.

In fact, the conflict intensified. Not only was Qin Lan presiding over it, but a number of Fang Jie’s subordinates who were adept at commanding battles were also brought together to strategize in this location.

After all, Qin Lan was one of Fang Jie’s people, and although not publicly announced, those high-level undead would show respect.

"These people are indeed hiding something, but so are we. However, we must put on a show of strength to let them see our power, without letting them think we’re too strong."

"Though I don’t see what use there is in hiding like this, I’m just responsible for fighting."

Qin Lan rubbed his temples, frustrated because both sides were blocked in the valley, so it was impossible to gauge exactly how strong the opposition was. Many things had to be conjectured, followed by various probes.

"Then let’s go with the squad formation. Only then can we exert pressure on them."

"That’s no problem. Just use regular troops, and just add a bit more of the Gold Coin level. Their composition is different from ours; they still rely on Bronze-level as their main force, and there are also quite a number of Black Iron and Apprentice Level troops."

The composition of both sides’ forces had become clear over the course of the battles.

Fang Hao nodded, "If that’s the case, then let’s deploy some low-level troops as a facade."

They had low-level troops at their disposal, the remnants of previous battles and those brought back from the last return trip; all these would suffice. Otherwise, Fang Hao would be at a loss, since producing troops was a decision for Fang Jie.

In other Affiliated Territories, their proxy lords could make decisions as long as they followed the rules.

Not so for Fang Hao, who didn’t have a Territory of his own to control. Without orders from Fang Jie, they couldn’t acquire new undead. At this moment, there was no need to disturb Fang Jie, who was addicted to his research.

"Nevertheless, we can be certain, based on our deductions, that their capabilities are not found in spells, and most likely not in equipment either."

Recently, they had noticed that attacks with numerous special effects were taking place only in the opposing Plane. No similar incidents had occurred in their Plane.

Qin Lan shook his head, "But we can’t let our guard down, just in case they are doing it on purpose."

Being an Earth person, Qin Lan understood the Earth people well enough to know they were capable of such subterfuge. Although those White people opposite might not have such dispositions, it was still necessary to be cautious.

"It’s highly unlikely; the people over there are too arrogant. With such temperaments, it’s hard for any calm individuals to exist."

An opinion from a Cabinet member, who after all had a good understanding of human psychology. If everyone in a group was mad, the few sane ones would be assimilated.

Because without assimilation, it’s impossible to survive among the rest.

Those capable of pretending to assimilate while maintaining their true selves were a rarity indeed.

As they adapted their battle strategies, the other side noticed something was amiss.

The undead were no longer fighting singly but had formed squads. Some defended in the forefront, others provided long-range support from behind, and there were flankers ready to strike.

Those in front were not just possessing strong defenses, but were also relatively inexpensive troops.

Armed with sturdy shields, though the enemy’s attacks were filled with countless effects, at best they could shatter the shields without managing to annihilate the Skeletons behind in one fell swoop.

Meanwhile, the flankers were capable of dealing killing blows in a single strike.

Though some could mysteriously dodge an attack, such evasion usually was a one-off. They would then be taken down by the next assault or slain by ranged attacks.

With these adjustments, the enemy’s losses began to decline, and the ratio of casualties between the two sides started to even out.

"What do we do, boss Bill? If this goes on, our losses will only mount. We can’t afford to wear them down like this," said a hippie-looking fellow to a towering White man seated before him.

"How was I to know they’d be so stubborn? Usually when we send an army of this size, they’re supposed to think about negotiating. If we show some muscle, shouldn’t they be submitting?"

"Damn it, those Yellow people, it must be that damn country. Only they would be so troublesome."

"But boss, what should we do? If we keep this up, the losses for the rest of our Alliance will be too great. If they lose too much, they might bail. Just relying on our own strength, do we still fight on?"

"By ourselves, we can surely win, but if we lose too much, heaven knows what the others will start thinking. Let’s do this, increase their compensation, and we’ll add more troops to help."

"That’d be great, with your troops, boss, those on the other side won’t stand a chance."

Bill had a look of pride, but worry flickered in his eyes. Since the enemy had shifted its formation, their previously invincible army was now suffering losses. The situation was truly difficult.

Let it be. When the full force mobilizes, I’m sure they won’t be a match.

It’s a pity my powers are restricted to only our side. I can’t extend them to the enemy’s side.

Damn, has this world given rise to such strong adversaries? What are the others doing? I wonder how far these adversaries are from us. If not far, they must be destroyed.

"Also, we’re running low on both Gold Coins and Demon Crystal resources, continue to scout for more resources. Without the resources, we won’t be able to maintain our military."

"But boss, do we have to keep up such exhaustive mining? If we built Mining Fields, we could mine indefinitely. Carrying on like this, our veins will diminish, eventually running out."

"I’m aware, but only this way can we develop the fastest."

Bill showed a smile, "Besides, the veins we destroy are too far from us. Aren’t we protecting our own veins well? Once the others run out, we can sell ours at a high price."

"High price! You’re so thorough, boss. With the ore, we could hold everyone ransom."

"Hmph, that’s the essence of economic control, too complex for someone like you to get. Get going with your tasks, lest I teach you a lesson," Bill dismissed his subordinate with a threat, unaware that once the minion turned away, his face bore a sneer.

As if you were the only one with veins; we’ve hidden ours well enough. How could everyone be controlled by you?
