Chapter 586: Building a Base in Another World
Chapter 586: Chapter 586: Building a Base in Another World
"Thankfully, the basic functions are still operational."
Fang Jie experimented a bit and found that the Mountain and River Spirits could still be used to construct buildings; it seemed that this capability was inherent to the base itself. In reality, however, it was the joint effect of the Mountain and River Spirits and the base that countered the laws of this world.
"It’s just that the range is a bit small. The Mountain and River Spirits must be in this area for the Functional Buildings to be operational, otherwise they are useless. Therefore, careful planning of this place is a must."
Fang Jie surveyed the surroundings from where the Mountain and River Spirits radiated outwards, the area barely spanning a kilometer—this was the only area where buildings could be constructed, the limit of the Mountain and River Spirits.
To expand these limits, the Mountain and River Spirits would have to break through to the Legendary Level.
Even so, it was not easy. Fang Jie knew he was up against the World Laws.
Only the World Attribute intrinsic to the Mountain and River Spirits could achieve this. Inside this range, it was the Mountain and River Spirits’ own world, where anything could be done with ease.
"We’ll start full production now, don’t move from here; build defensive structures around it."
Fang Jie prepared to undertake construction here. The Mountain and River Spirits had come with a wealth of Resources. Although the Material Warehouse on him wasn’t large, there were still some supplies.
To develop in the otherworld, the Mountain and River Spirits had a complete variety of buildings on hand.
If not for the insufficient size, Fang Jie would’ve readily prepared several large Functional Buildings.
In the surrounding area, one by one, Advanced Rune Arrow Towers were constructed. Then, groups of Gold Level Mages, four to each tower, began to enter.
These Mages had just been produced and lacked any significant Magic Skills.
Because they hadn’t undergone any learning, they were most suitable for placement here. After all, in this area, most Magic Skills were basically useless. What Fang Jie really needed to do was face off against Demigod Level experts.
"If this place were thoroughly filled, the multitude of Gold Level towers would be effective in an assault. Against a Demigod, at the least, they could cause them significant trouble."
"If two came, then adding the Legendary Level experts I brought, we could pose a threat to them. If they insist on charging this way, killing at least one wouldn’t be a problem."
Fang Jie calculated, then felt relieved. Even if the enemy managed to break through in the end, he still had the Snake God Ring.
But this item, Fang Jie did not wish to use it carelessly; each use caused cracks to appear, and too many would destroy it.
It was better to conserve such an important item.
Thus, base construction began, but Fang Jie did not neglect the production of troops either. However, due to the inherent Level limitations, the Mountain and River Spirits could only enhance the buildings to Level 9.
If they were normal buildings, they might only be able to produce silver Level troops.
But since the Mountain and River Spirits were a sub-base constructed relying on his own main base, the lack of Level wasn’t an issue; the troops produced were still of Gold Level, although their strength might be slightly weaker.
Because Fang Jie found that in the otherworld, where he could only rely on himself, the troops manufactured by the Mountain and River Spirits were not actually Gold Level 9; in fact, they only had the strength of Gold Level 5 or 6.
Spending the same price for such lesser quality troops was truly a loss.
Nonetheless, it didn’t matter because these troops weren’t really meant to combat Demigods, but rather deal with other regular combat forces.
Fang Jie unleashed the thousands of Legendary Experts he’d brought, instructing them to find places to hide.
As for Fang Jie himself, he was also busy, continually summoning, particularly those silver Level corpses that could still be made into silver Level troops.
The White Bone Griffins occasionally flying in the sky were Fang Jie’s handiwork.
Ever since he was able to have silver Level troops exist perpetually, Fang Jie didn’t have to be so cautious. Before long, the entire forest had a substantial presence of White Bone Soldiers.
If anyone could look down from above, they would see many places turning white.
"Lord, I think we should add some Fire Bomb Bunkers around. Although they might be a bit lacking for Legendary beings, they can still cause them some trouble."
Fang Jie thought about it and seemed to agree. Even a minor advantage was still an advantage.
As long as these advantages could be continuously expanded, the victory could ultimately be secured.
Although Fang Jie didn’t believe he would fail, extra caution was necessary; it was better to save whenever possible. Thereafter, Fang Jie began planning and constructed several Fire Bomb Bunkers at certain areas on the edges.
Following the construction, Fang Jie suddenly realized that the Fire Bomb Bunkers could move underground.
As long as they didn’t exceed their allotted range, Fire Bomb Bunkers could overlap with other buildings on the surface without interfering with each other. Like this, his flat Territory transformed into a three-dimensional Space.
"This is perfect; why didn’t I think of it sooner? It’s a shame the resources I brought aren’t sufficient to fill the area completely."
Although Fang Jie had mobilized a significant amount of resources, invading the otherworld demanded more than he could supply. Not to mention this was an unforeseen discovery; he hadn’t prepared for this beforehand.
"Never mind, it’s better to add what little we can. Every small chance of success is still good."
Fang Jie stopped fretting and continued to summon Undead.
"None of these guys have a method of summoning Undead on a large scale without limitation; I’ll have to find ways to cultivate that. I remember there are quite a few Magic Skills like that in the Undead System."
Fang Jie noticed that he was the only one busy at work, while his Legendary subordinates just stood by watching.
It had been fine when he was weak, but now that he was strong, why should it be the same? Didn’t these folks know to find similar methods to learn on their own?
Without these methods, how would they pass the Demigod Level trials in the future?
Indeed, he had brought them here for this purpose, to let them get accustomed to the situation in advance. The tasks during the Demigod trial were similar, if not simpler, than what they were doing now.
But the Demigod trial was an individual challenge, not like many coming together.
Those Legends were obviously not fools; although Fang Jie hadn’t said anything, they could sense certain things. It wasn’t long before they started discussing amongst themselves.
What Fang Jie didn’t know was that, although his actions here were subtle, they had already attracted the attention of the Fierce Beastmen.
