Chapter 370: Chapter 370: The Objective of the Racial Contract

With Fang Jie’s support, another batch of Ghost Mages was sent into the Dark Forest.

On one hand, they fought with the Dark Druids, while quietly capturing all the Shadow Elves that lived there. The whole process went very smoothly, without any resistance.

Perhaps for the Dark Druids, only they themselves are kin, the true masters of the Dark Forest.

As for other species living in it, they are enemies, and it would not matter even if they were wiped out.

This is why the Shadow Elves were so oppressed and why the Dark Druids didn’t care about their capture now. After sweeping through multiple times and ensuring all were caught, they returned.

After all, these Shadow Elves were truly unique, their abilities to hide and escape were too strong.

If they didn’t want to be caught, controlling these Shadow Elves was not an easy matter.

Luckily, there were no Legendary among their ranks, so after deploying a Legendary Expert, even those who hid the deepest were captured, ensuring not a single one escaped.

Upon receiving this news, Fang Jie went directly to Flower Plateau through a large Space Gate.

Fang Jie came here in person because he valued the Shadow Elf species.

He had been holding onto a Race Contract Scroll, undecided on its use, but this time it seemed he found a suitable target.

Still, he wanted to see for himself. Despite the Shadow Elves’ Talent and abilities being very good, if their appearance was too poor, Fang Jie didn’t want them. After all, a species loyal to him also represented his own image, didn’t it?

Fang Jie admitted he had his own selfish reasons, but he was not someone who served the people, so what if he was selfish? It didn’t matter if it didn’t affect others, and even if it did, their opinions need not be considered.

"Is this them?" Fang Jie asked as he approached Mobs.

Mobs, having completely recovered, bowed slightly, "Lord, these are all of them, gathered in this place."

Ahead were a series of Barriers, trapping dark shadows within. Some looked like Elves, but most maintained their shadowy forms, seeming ready to flee the moment the Barriers opened.

"Their appearance is not bad," Fang Jie nodded.

Several of those who kept their Elven form were tall, not possessing the usual Elf height, which was in fact more in line with Human aesthetic preferences. After all, real Elves were taller than Humans.

These around 1.7 meters tall were just perfect. Although they were Shadow Elves, they only wore black clothing, with fair skin that showed no pores.

Their pupils and hair were black, slightly exuding a Foreign Realm charm, more suited to Fang Jie’s aesthetic taste.

Perhaps due to their unique constitution, even with constant training, they bore no marks on their bodies, be it calluses or scars, their skin was flawless.

"Very good, they meet my requirements."

"Human, are you the leader of these people?" A Shadow Elf stood up and spoke through the Barrier to Fang Jie.

"That’s right, I am their Lord, they are all my subordinates."

"So it turns out your leader is a Human, and even so weak. If we’d known this earlier, we would have succeeded in assassinating you long ago." The Shadow Elf’s voice was pleasant, but the murderous intent in her eyes was unsettling.

Even through the Barrier, Fang Jie felt a stinging sensation on his skin.

Her strength was indeed formidable; this must be the Shadow Elf leader mentioned in the reports.

Within this band of Shadow Elves, there were only three of Gold level, and it was she who had attempted to assassinate Mobs. The others all followed her lead without any interference when she spoke.

This species had a good sense of discipline, unlike typical Elves.

"Even if you knew about me, you could not succeed. My Territory has many defense structures, you can’t just infiltrate through Shadow Transformation," Fang Jie said without concern.

Not to mention others, the Death Energy Tower and Rune Arrow Tower were the nemesis of these Elves.

If it weren’t for the scarcity of such things on Flower Plateau, they wouldn’t have been able to get close to Mobs.

"Moreover, if something happened to me, your entire race would have been eradicated long ago."

"What exactly are your intentions? You spared our lives for a reason," the Shadow Elf maintained her pride, and although she looked straight on, there was always a sense of being looked down upon.

This feeling, once seen among Elves, seemed even more pronounced amongst these Shadow Elves.

Truly befitting the Elf species, the arrogance of this species was rarely matched by other races.

"Simple. It is to sign a Contract with you. This is a Racial Loyalty Contract, you should know what that is, right?"

Seeing the Shadow Elves looking puzzled, Fang Jie realized these inexperienced ones didn’t know. He then explained the Contract to them, and they understood.

"Human, give up the notion. We will not be loyal to you."

"No problem," Fang Jie said indifferently. "If you’re not loyal, then you’re of no use, and your entire race will be wiped out. Mobs, since they once tried to assassinate you, I’ll leave them to you."

Mobs quickly bowed, "Please rest assured, Lord. I will entertain them properly, not letting them die too easily. Ghost Mages have many experiments to conduct on them."

Seeing the Ghost Mages nearby, the Shadow Elves began to fear.

Though their history was not extensive, they naturally knew what Mages were. Ordinarily seen as symbols of wisdom, but once used as experimental subjects, it was truly terrifying, far worse than death.

"Wait, we, we can be loyal to you, but your Contract is too harsh."

Indeed, the Contract itself required the other party to be entirely loyal and achieve a loyalty level above 50, which was not attainable under normal circumstances. Not to mention being loyal, there were those who even hated Fang Jie.

After all, not a small number of the Shadow Elf clan died during the capture.

Now the entire clan numbered less than two hundred individuals.

"It’s okay, we will eliminate those who bear hatred, only keeping those who are suitable." The Shadow Elves were not a kind species, too much leniency towards them would make the goal even more unreachable.

Finally, the Shadow Elf leader spoke, "Are you planning to take down the entire Dark Forest now? If so, then it’s not entirely impossible to meet your requirements." The Shadow Elves finally softened.
