Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission
Chapter 369: Shadow Elf Clan

Chapter 369: Chapter 369: Shadow Elf Clan

The plan to establish the Cabinet was progressing in an orderly fashion, as it wasn’t a secret matter, so Fang Jie and Qin Lan didn’t hide it. Before long, many people were aware of it.

"Damn it, I’m still outdone by that woman," Jia Siwei grumbled upon receiving the news.

Originally, he didn’t think he was any less competent than Qin Lan; it was just a matter of seniority.

As it turned out, Jia Siwei wasn’t inferior at all, and his thinking was sound. By working hard and gradually gaining recognition, he obtained a vast Territory, achieving his goal.

However, Jia Siwei soon discovered a problem: he had made a mistake in the location of his land selection. Although the area was safe, there were no battles to be fought there, which limited his options.

Without a platform for development, how could he demonstrate his capabilities?

Even though he had high Talent for business, the nearby territories were all controlled by Fang Jie.

Even with a Material Warehouse of gold-level as the foundation of his Material Trading House, he found no room for his own influence. This signified that he had landed in a position where he could not apply his Strengths.

After the Cabinet plan was announced, Jia Siwei realized he had made another wrong choice.

Since he had already acquired his own Territory, joining the Cabinet was out of the question.

The Cabinet might not have much authority locally, but their status was high. If there were opportunities in the future, they would certainly be able to grasp them more easily than him.

But to give up his hard-won land was something Jia Siwei found difficult to accept.

So now, Jia Siwei was caught in a dilemma.

Regardless of his worries, the formation of the Cabinet continued uninterrupted.

One day, Fang Jie suddenly received an unexpected piece of intelligence—Mobs had been the target of an assassination attempt.

"Assassination, how could that be? Did Mobs venture into some dangerous place? Isn’t he usually well-protected?" Although Mobs wasn’t a Legendary Expert, he was still of gold-level.

Moreover, many gold-level powerhouses protected him; usually, he wouldn’t go to dangerous places, so an assassination was baffling.

"My Lord, those who acted were a group of Shadow Elves. These Shadow Elves can hide within shadows, bypassing all defenses," the messenger reported cautiously.

It seemed that day shadows suddenly appeared, launching an attack on Mobs.

One strike pierced Mobs’ chest, penetrating his heart. Then, to the Shadow Elves’ confusion, all of them were captured.

Although they could hide within shadows, that only meant they hadn’t been discovered.

Facing so many powerful beings, especially those Ghost Assassins skilled in Dark Magic, the Elves stood no chance. Once the Barrier was erected, enclosing everything around, the Shadow Elves had no escape.

Mobs himself was not a Vampire but a Blood Servant. As an Undead, Mobs’ core was not his heart but in his head, which is why he didn’t die after the assassination attempt.

If he had been a true Vampire, this assassination would have clearly succeeded.

Similarly, if the attackers had known about Mobs’ situation and targeted his head instead, they would have succeeded by now.

"Mobs isn’t in any trouble now, is he?"

"No, he has completely recovered."

"What about those Shadow Elves?" Fang Jie asked again.

"Those Shadow Elves all live in the Dark Forest. It seems our attack damaged their habitat, which is why they came to assassinate us, mistaking Mobs for our leader."

"We’ve located the area where the Shadow Elves reside and have sent people to surround it. With just a command from you, my Lord, we can completely annihilate them."

Indeed, the Shadow Elves were impressive, but their heritage was not strong, and their numbers were few.

Surrounded by a large army, especially with many Ghost Mages present, these Shadow Elves couldn’t hope to escape.

Suddenly, Fang Jie had an idea: "Don’t kill them, capture them instead—they might be useful. Also, bring me the information on the Shadow Elves."

The Skeleton Hero nodded hurriedly and went to prepare; he didn’t have this information on hand.

It wasn’t long before the data on the Shadow Elves was in Fang Jie’s hands. He discovered that Shadow Elves were indeed a very special entity. Although they were considered Elves and indeed a variant of the Elf Clan.

In reality, Shadow Elves no longer belonged to the same category as other Elves.

Unlike similar beings like Fallen Elves and Dark Elves, Shadow Elves’ very structure had changed.

Specifically, Shadow Elves themselves were composed of shadows, a special form of Dark Magic Power.

Being able to transform directly into shadows was why they could hide and move within them. However, once merged with the shadows, they became a mass of Magic Power, and hence, very vulnerable if discovered.

Mages with the Dark Attribute were their absolute nemesis.

Of course, if Shadow Elves could learn Dark Magic, they could also eliminate this weakness. But clearly, the numbers of Shadow Elves were too few to inherit any Magic.

All Shadow Elves appeared to be female, at least that was the impression, and their method of reproduction was quite unique.

Through normal reproduction, regardless of the male’s species, the offspring would always be a female Shadow Elf.

Another common method was through splitting. They would turn into a shadow and split off a part. This method would greatly diminish their Strength, requiring a lengthy recovery.

The advantage was that the split individual would grow very quickly and start with considerable Strength.

Even battle skills and knowledge could be passed down as needed, saving a significant amount of learning time. Had they not been constantly oppressed by Dark Druids in the Dark Forest, they wouldn’t be so few in numbers.

"What a remarkable species. If they could be recruited, that would really be wonderful."

Fang Jie’s eyes lit up, recognizing the immense potential of this species. Even if it were just through splitting, they could quickly create a large number of their kind, although they might initially be weak.

But with an abundance of Dark Attribute materials and Magic Power support, these Shadow Elves could grow very quickly.

Employing these Shadow Elves to form an intelligence or assassination organization would be an excellent choice.
