Chapter 196: Not Enough Stone Bricks
Chapter 196: Chapter 196: Not Enough Stone Bricks
"Just like that, the Death Energy Tower, as an important part of our defense force, should first be upgraded to the Silver Level. Next would be the Sailor Camp, and most importantly, the Skeleton Conversion Field; it’s perfect to elevate both to the Gold Level."
Fang Jie swiftly made his selection, raising the schematics of those buildings, and then he’d address further modifications later.
"So, for the other buildings to be upgraded, let me see. The Corpse Processing Plant is a bit too low level; it can be raised to the Silver Level. As for the Gold Level, it seems that I can only upgrade the Material Warehouse for now."
Fang Jie saw the other buildings, which basically had little value for upgrade.
"What a pity, if only I had another troop building upgrade card, then the Alchemy Workshop would have to stay at this level for now," Fang Jie shook his head, then glanced toward his own dockyard.
The dockyard’s access to the sea was through a river, and as the weather grew colder and colder, the layers of ice here thickened.
If the construction here continued, probably after a long while, even Heavy Transport Ships would hardly break through the layer of ice, not to mention using one’s Heavy Warships as icebreakers.
"Fortunately, we are now close to the seashore, so let’s start construction over there. First, build a wharf, use the wharf’s ability to dissolve the ice, then build the ships, which will lead to the open sea."
Only the edge of the sea was frozen. If they used the wharf to melt this nearby area, then it would be almost the same as there being no ice at all.
But just when Fang Jie was about to start, he suddenly found himself short on stone bricks.
Mainly Rune Stone Bricks, and even Rune Stone Slabs and other materials were in short supply. If he hadn’t been looking at the panel, Fang Jie wouldn’t have known that he was suddenly running out of these materials.
"How come they’re gone all of a sudden? Oh no, it’s the Fortress renovation plan."
Fang Jie suddenly realized that with the upgrade of the Territory, the Fortress had been elevated as well. Before, the Fortress could only be made of Stone, similar to the Stone City Wall, but now it had also changed.
If they changed to using Rune Stone Bricks and Crystal Stone Powder, they could have the same effect as a Rune Wall.
Being equipped with a Defense Barrier by itself, along with the internal Death Energy Tower, it had the potential to become a very strong defensive force.
The old Fortress was basically only capable of defending itself, but now it would become a war machine. Fang Jie, feeling elated, immediately ordered the renovation of the current important Fortresses.
What he forgot was how great the demand for stone bricks would be for those Fortress renovations.
And he had habitually ordered the construction of a circle of Rune Walls at the new boundaries of his Territory, in addition to the walls of his own city, which was a huge expense.
This vast expenditure made Fang Jie’s Rune Stone Bricks almost instantly in short supply.
"Stop, stop the Fortress renovation for now, and the construction of the city wall too," Fang Jie quickly ordered a halt. Otherwise, what would he do with those special buildings that need to be upgraded and constructed?
But even if they stopped now, it wouldn’t be possible to dismantle the stone bricks because the world’s rules didn’t allow it.
Destroying and recycling would yield very little, and the quality would also drop significantly.
"Ah, I got carried away," Fang Jie lamented. After thinking it over, Fang Jie sent a large number of Skeleton Heroes to the Material Warehouse to start manufacturing the materials they were short on.
After the recent battles, his hero units had received significant upgrades.
With more hero units, in Fang Jie’s view, the greatest use was to help him synthesize a large amount of basic materials.
Because the planning was already done and there was nothing else to do now, Fang Jie simply went to sleep.
Until the next day when Fang Jie got up and finally saw that the Rune Stone Bricks were sufficiently stocked. With all kinds of materials ready, the construction could begin. First of all, starting with the Nether God Tower.
These constructions can’t be completed in just a moment; it takes some time.
Fang Jie continued his research while waiting. At some point, Qin Lan woke up, stepped outside, and seeing Fang Jie eating, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes – what a wasted opportunity.
"I’m going back, there’s a lot to take care of. If anything comes up, just let me know, I’ll be in the Territory for the next few days."
"Aren’t you going to eat before leaving?" Fang Jie looked up and asked.
"No, I’m not eating," Qin Lan answered directly, summoning the Mechanical Flying Eagle, and took off into the sky.
"That’s strange, she seems really irritable. Is she not feeling well?" Fang Jie was a bit surprised, but then thinking that women often have many issues, he decided not to bother with it. He had more important things to attend to.
Fang Jie’s indifferent attitude made Qin Lan even more frustrated. What a blockhead he was.
During the waiting process, Fang Jie hadn’t even seen the basic constructions be completed, when the first Golden Hero emerged. Fang Hao, who had entered the Hero Training Tower at the first opportunity yesterday, now stepped out.
Name: Fang Hao
Affiliated: Origin City
Loyalty: 100
Profession: Skeleton Lord
Talents: Swordsmanship Specialization, Skeleton Command
Level: Gold
Strength: 120, Agility: 100, Constitution: 120, Intelligence: 40, Spirit: 30
Death Battle Aura: 15000/15000
Skills: Basic Swordsmanship, Parry, Block, Downswing, Life Sacrifice Strike, Hidden Aura, Suppressive Strike, Death Vortex, Dou Qi Enhancement, Hundred Battles, Cutting, Power Burst, Death Aura
Legion Skills: Infantry Corps Command, Skeleton Square Formation, Siege, Lord Glory
"To become a Skeleton Lord so suddenly, this profession doesn’t seem to have a ceiling, does it?" Fang Jie thoughtfully stroked his chin, not really knowing the specifics, and could only guess.
Upon careful study, Fang Jie realized that to reach the Gold Level, at least one of the basic attributes must break through one hundred.
So Fang Hao, now amongst the Golds, should be considered just having entered.
However, when it came to combat power, Fang Hao was much stronger than those late-stage Gold Blood Servants.
Those Blood Servants even if they had basic attributes over two hundred, simply didn’t match up with a warrior when it came to combat skills, nor did they make use of their powers or have a sense of combat as warriors did. The differences were substantial.
If those Blood Servants could maximize their attributes, they would not have been so vulnerable against the Flying Dragons.
Just as Fang Jie was reflecting, Cosette also emerged.
These two, being the earliest heroes of the Territory, had very high talents. To be honest, if it weren’t for their profession limits, these two would have reached the Gold Level long ago.
Such a massive scale of warfare was simply the best catalyst for these heroes to improve.
"Let’s see how much your abilities have improved," said Fang Jie as he approached, talking to himself.
