Chapter 1527: 1415, Tenth Star Domain
"Chairman, how is the situation on the other side of the rift?" someone present asked.
"Uh... we couldn’t catch Lailin; he managed to escape." Lemo answered truthfully.
After chasing through the Space Cracks earlier, Speaker Lemo discovered that Lailin had set up numerous arrangements on the other side.
He, along with the trailing Daland Military Chief, Executive Andrew, and others, were trapped in layer upon layer of illusions.
By the time they broke through the illusions and returned to the real world, Lailin had disappeared without a trace.
However, they didn’t feel discouraged. They dispersed in this direction to continue searching for any clue of Lailin’s whereabouts.
"Sigh, that’s such a pity!" someone around lamented.
"Yes, such a pity. Lailin’s wings were already clipped. If only we could’ve eradicated him completely!"
"These rebellious organizations are truly rampant! I think Lailin must have relied on something during this trip."
Someone else asked from afar: "Chairman, are the other Stellar Level figures still pursuing Lailin?"
Lemo responded: "Yes, the other side of the Space Cracks is Star Domain Ten. Aside from our sub-hub, there are over a thousand indigenous civilizations inside.
Everyone has dispersed to inspect these civilizations one by one, hoping to find any traceable clues.
I chose not to inspect but instead returned early to oversee the hub, to prevent any hostile force from infiltrating while we’re vulnerable."
The "sub-hubs" mentioned by Speaker Lemo refer to transfer planets under the jurisdiction of each star domain.
The Fegg Hub governs a total of 36 subordinate star domains, named rather straightforwardly from "Star Domain One" to "Star Domain Thirty-Six." The order of the domains is determined by both location and distance. Generally, the closer a domain’s order is to the front, the larger its scale and the nearer it is to the hub.
The last meeting between Lailin and two other Stellar Level members of a rebellious organization took place on a planet called "Lorent VI."
"Lorent VI" serves as the transportation hub for Star Domain Seven, essentially acting as the sub-hub of that domain.
If the Fegg Hub is considered the capital of its administered regions, then the sub-hubs hold a status equivalent to provincial capitals.
...
"Star Domain Ten? Could it be that the rebellious organization has hidden its forces in Star Domain Ten?" another round of discussion erupted among the crowd.
"Not necessarily," someone rebutted. "If the rebellious organization Lailin belongs to is in Star Domain Ten, wouldn’t his actions be equivalent to bringing fire to his own doorstep?
If I were Lailin, I’d definitely choose another star domain before carrying out any operations."
"That makes sense."
"Still, Star Domain Ten can’t be overlooked. My suggestion would be to thoroughly investigate all star domains in the future."
The crowd continued their intense discussion, while Zone One remained restless and uneasy.
Even the civilians were aware that a significant event had just occurred, causing various degrees of chaos throughout the entire zone.
Speaker Lemo didn’t join the discussions but instead swiftly issued several notifications via AI Blue Whale, informing everyone about what had transpired in Zone One to reassure the public.
...
About an hour later, the Space Cracks lit up again, and Daland Military Chief emerged from them.
Chief Soren, President Grandon, Gem Dragon Lucia, and other key figures also gradually returned, appearing in succession at the hub within five to ten minutes.
After returning to the hub, Daland Military Chief first glanced at Su Yu, then addressed everyone: "Ladies and gentlemen, I scanned the northeastern sector of Star Domain Ten and inspected dozens of civilizations but found no abnormalities."
"Likewise, we found nothing suspicious either." Chief Soren and several others responded in turn.
