Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Crisis Lurks Everywhere! The Blooming Flowers Are Becoming Blinding!_1

The Strange Tree was dead. It turned into a pile of dust and scattered in the wind. Then, a fruit appeared on the ground.

Su Yan bent down to pick up the fruit, and a prompt immediately popped up deep within his mind.

[Saint-like Buddha fruit]: Transformed from the spiritual fruit of a Saint in Ancient Times, consumption can purify impure thoughts, as well as diminish the seven emotions and six desires.

[Saint-like Buddha fruit detected]

[Would you like to choose to devour?]

[Option 1]: Yes

[Option 2]: No

[Devouring will increase spiritual power]

This fruit can increase spiritual power?

Seeing this, Su Yan didn’t hesitate in the slightest and immediately chose to devour the fruit.

[Devouring Successful]

[spiritual power +1+1+1...]

After devouring the Saint-like Buddha fruit, Su Yan lingered no longer. He walked out of the classroom and continued to search for his Second Sister, Su Erke.

Seeing him leave, everyone in the classroom hurriedly followed. If they didn’t seize the chance to stick close to such a powerful figure leading the way, they’d be utter fools!

After leaving the classroom, Su Yan strode straight down the corridor, heading deeper.

Upon seeing this, some of the people following him gritted their teeth and continued. Others felt that delving deeper was too dangerous and turned to leave, intending to return the way they came. But when they looked back, they realized the path they had come by was now blocked by vines, leaving them no choice but to continue forward.

Along the way, the group walked cautiously. The white fog in the corridor had gradually thickened, now so dense you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face. Su Yan became alert. The sudden increase in fog inside the corridor was not a good sign.

As time passed, the color of the fog deepened, from white to blue. Swirling mists, hazy and obscure, directly enveloped the entire corridor. This scene was far too strange. Therefore, everyone stuck close to Su Yan the entire way, not daring to stray too far for fear of being ambushed if they got separated.

Soon, under Su Yan’s lead, they arrived before a deep, impenetrable blue fog. The mass of blue fog before them seemed to be the source of the shroud over the corridor. Su Yan, maintaining a safe distance, examined the blue fog closely, but all he could see was an indistinct blur of deep blue. It was impossible to discern with the eyes alone what exactly lay inside the blue fog.

Su Yan frowned slightly. The scene before me seems abnormal, he thought. Perhaps it’s the work of Demons and Monsters.

"I think we should not go any further; let’s just return the way we came," someone suggested.

"The end of the corridor looks too strange. I suspect there are Demons and Monsters inside."

"There’s no need to risk our lives by going forward..."

Seeing that Su Yan seemed to want to delve deeper, someone hastily spoke up, tactfully trying to stop him.

However, Su Yan ignored the man’s words. He entered the blue fog alone. For him, retracing his steps was impossible. His Second Sister, Su Erke, was still missing. He needed to continue the search.

"Let’s follow him," the leader proposed to the people behind him. Then, ensuring Su Yan’s silhouette hadn’t completely disappeared, he quickly went ahead and followed. The others saw this and followed suit. And the person who had initially suggested they return the way they came, in the end, also gritted his teeth and followed.

On the way, Su Yan moved very slowly. He was vigilant all around, his eyes watching every direction and his ears listening for every sound. Sometimes, he would hear strange sounds. He would also see some creepy sights. But all of it was for a brief moment, as if he were experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations.

This made Su Yan even more cautious. His physical strength was by no means inferior to that of Rare Level Creatures; he might even surpass them. Especially regarding his Five Senses Perception, he was absolutely confident that he far surpassed creatures of the same level. It’s impossible for me to be experiencing hallucinations, he thought.

"There is something in this blue fog," Su Yan kindly reminded them, then continued to walk slowly through the fog.

Hearing Su Yan’s words, the people behind him felt a chill run down their spines. They quickly hurried after Su Yan, eager to cling to the powerful figure for safety.

Time passed slowly. The corridor was still quiet, except for their nearly silent footsteps.

"What’s happening? We’ve been walking for so long, how come we haven’t reached the end yet?" someone questioned.

Su Yan also found this very strange. They had been walking for quite some time but had yet to arrive at the end of the corridor, as if it stretched on infinitely. During this time, apart from the surrounding blue fog becoming more opaque, nothing else changed.

Su Yan quickened his pace, wanting to leave this strange corridor as soon as possible. Seeing this, the people behind him sped up as well, afraid of being left behind by Su Yan.

Unconsciously, the fog had grown even denser. People merely half a step away looked blurred and indistinct. Su Yan’s speed increased more and more. In the end, he started to run. He didn’t want to stay in this strange and uncertain place.

"POP!"

Suddenly, a light sound came from ahead. It was as if something was breaking through the soil, and the sounds were frequent, one after another.

Su Yan abruptly stopped in his tracks. At the same time, the surrounding blue mist began to dissipate, replaced by twinkling starlight, as if stars had been scattered across the ground, emitting a pale blue glow and twinkling under the faint light.

Su Yan fixed his gaze and discovered that these were plant sprouts, one after another, no taller than an inch, breaking through the concrete ground. They shimmered beautifully, wisps of aura twining around them; a glance revealed they were everywhere.

"How beautiful!" a woman in the team exclaimed in amazement. Her pupils shone with an eerie blue light, and she couldn’t resist approaching the blue sprouts.

"Don’t get close!" the team leader shouted at the woman.

But the woman remained unmoved, muttering, "So beautiful," as she stepped closer.

The team leader noticed something was wrong with the woman’s state and immediately grabbed her, preventing her from getting any closer to the blue sprouts.

"PFFT!"

A sound of soil breaking came again. A blue sprout suddenly shot up, cracking the ground below its stem.

Immediately after, the PFFT sounds merged into one. With a surge of blue light, all the blue sprouts were growing rapidly. In an instant, they matured.

Instantly, blue light suffused the area, and the narrow corridor seemed draped in a siren’s veil. Everything looked eerily enchanting.

"POP!"

Another sound came. It was the sound of flowers blooming. In the moment the blue light was about to vanish, those plants began to bloom with clusters of flowers.

In that instant, masses of blue flowers glistened like crystal. Dreamlike and somewhat intoxicating, they bloomed throughout the corridor, appearing ethereal and unreal.

These plants grew over a foot tall. They were as translucent as blue crystal, with petals that were strip-like, looking strange yet beautiful. As if blooming on the Road to the Underworld, they possessed an indescribable, fiendish charm. A mere glance seemed enough to ensnare one’s soul, imprisoning it within the blossoms, never to escape.

Su Yan felt something ominous and immediately stepped back, trying to keep his distance from these strange flowers. However, he failed to realize that these Strange Flowers had already bloomed all behind him. Their pistils flowed like water, and their petals pulsed open and closed, an incredibly bizarre sight.

"Could these flowers be..." Looking at the blue Strange Flowers before him, the team leader behind seemed to have thought of something. His expression shifted to one of surprise, a sense of unease stirring within him.

He looked closely, struggling to recognize them. Then, he was shocked to find that these Strange Flowers before him bore some resemblance to the legendary Red Spider Lily. The Red Spider Lily was typically a twilight-like pale yellow, but these Strange Flowers before him were a vivid blue. The team leader had never heard of blue Red Spider Lilies. He only knew that the Red Spider Lily was a plant full of ominousness. Its appearance was always accompanied by all sorts of bizarre and unlucky events. Too many legends surrounded it, such as ’offering flowers to demons’ and ’one flower, one hell’...

Just then, a waft of faint fragrance drifted by, making everyone behind him feel intoxicated by its scent. Suddenly, someone felt dizzy. Then, unbelievable scenes appeared before their eyes. Some saw their deceased fathers. Others saw lands of Exotic Flower Fruits. And some saw a shapely and attractive woman flaunting her figure at them...

As for Su Yan beside them, because his spiritual power was strong enough, he wasn’t affected at all.

"Women, I want women!" someone finally shouted aloud. He went howling and lunging forward.

At the same time, another flower bud bloomed. It transformed directly from a glimmering blue bud into a Man-eating flower with a gaping maw. The man, seemingly oblivious to the Man-eating flower’s gaping maw, plunged headfirst into it, howling all the while. He was swallowed whole by the Man-eating flower before he could even scream.

Seeing this, Su Yan immediately leaped forward. Then, he threw a powerful punch, shattering the Man-eating flower with one blow.

Following that, a thudding sound was heard. The person who had been swallowed earlier fell out of the broken flower, unconscious on the ground. His complexion was purplish, as if poisoned by some sap from the Strange Flower.

As for the slain Man-eating flower, its alluringly shaped petals began to shrivel. The entire plant then gradually desiccated, quickly turning yellow and crumbling into a lifeless pile of debris.

Su Yan carefully observed the remains of the Man-eating flower on the ground, and inside he found a seed. Just as he was about to bend down and pick up the seed, a tender and alluring newly-born Man-eating flower suddenly sprouted behind him. It opened its gaping maw wide, revealing sharp fangs as it lunged to bite Su Yan.

"CLANG!"

The fangs bit onto Su Yan’s body, making an extremely crisp sound. Then, they instantly developed cracks and shattered, falling to the ground with a rustle.

"Ah... my little mouth is ruined!" The Man-eating flower was on the verge of tears, its voice a whimper, "Why are you so hard!"
