Chapter 44: I Know How to Make You Cum... Apart

And then he started laughing.

"Relax, Rivera," he said, dropping his hand and leaning back just a bit. "You’ve got glitter on your mouth."

I blinked, heat flooding my cheeks. "W-What?"

He shook his head, still chuckling. "And in your hair. I swear, you hang out with Alia too much."

He grinned, leaning even closer until his lips were almost brushing mine gently brushing his thumb over my bottom lip.

"Or maybe," he raised an eyebrow, "I should just kiss it off for you."

My breath stuttered in my chest.

"Oh my god...no!" I squeaked, waving my hands, nearly whacking him in the face. "It’s probably from June. She basically glitter-bathed herself this morning."

Dominic chuckled, catching my wrist and pressing it gently back down to my lap.

"Relax," he murmured. He pressed his palm against my chest, right over my racing heart. "You’re always so damn jumpy around me. It’s cute."

He was right there, all warm skin and expensive cologne, the heat of his breath brushing my cheek.

"You act all shy, Rivera..." he said, "...but I know how to make you cum... apart."

I swallowed so hard. "Wh-what... the hell are you talking about?"

Dominic tilted his head, his eyes locking on mine, something mischievous sparking in his gaze.

"Want to know a secret?" he whispered.

My breath caught. "W-What?"

He leaned in even closer.

"If I kissed you right now..." he said, pausing to bite his bottom lip, "...I bet you’d make the sexiest little sounds for me. And then you’d want my hands all over you."

My brain went into meltdown

My spine went rigid, my fingers was still gripping the door handle.

"I— I—" I stammered, practically vibrating in my seat.

Dominic gave me a look so filthy it should’ve been illegal.

"But..." he said, leaning back slowly, "...maybe another time. Can’t have you passing out on me in the hospital parking lot."

I let out a ragged breath, fumbling for the door handle.

But before I could even open it properly, Dominic suddenly reached out again, his fingers brushing lower, just over my waistband.

"And Rivera," he added, his voice pure sin, "I’m gonna make you scream my name one of these days."

My entire body seized up. "DOMINIC!"

He laughed, dropping his hand as I scrambled to shove the door open.

Except my foot caught the edge of the car frame, and...

THUD.

I went sprawling out of the car, landing square on my ass in the hospital driveway.

Dominic’s grin slipped for half a second as he watched me stumble out of the car, his eyes flickering softer, almost guilty.

"Ash!" Dominic shouted, leaning halfway out his door, eyes wide.

I scrambled upright, brushing dust off my jeans. "I’m fine! Totally fine!"

Dominic was doubled over laughing, gripping the steering wheel. "God, you’re gonna kill me one of these days. I swear..." He wiped tears from his eyes, still laughing. "I’m only teasing you, Rivera."

I glared at him, slamming his door shut. "You’re the worst."

Dominic leaned over. "But you like me anyway."

I rolled my eyes, trying, and failing not to grin like a lovesick idiot. Then I stomped off toward the hospital entrance, my heart still doing backflips and the ghost of his fingers on my lips.

I was halfway to the sliding doors when Dominic’s voice called out behind me.

"Hey..Rivera!"

I spun around, trying to get my pulse under control. "What now, Dominic?"

He leaned out the driver’s window, grinning. "Don’t take too long in there, okay? Because when you’re done..." His eyes flicked lower. "...I’m taking you to my place."

My mouth fell open. "What?"

Dominic’s grin turned sharper. "I’ve got something I want to show you at home. Something... fun."

Heat roared up my neck. "Oh my god, you’re impossible."

He just winked. "Don’t act like you’re not curious."

I sputtered, glancing back at the hospital doors. "I...I just want to settle Alia down. And make sure Mom’s okay."

Dominic tilted his head. "And once you’re done... you’re coming with me. Deal?"

I hesitated, breath caught in my throat.

Finally, I muttered, "...Fine. I’ll come over."

He gave a soft smile. "Good. I’ll be waiting for you, baby."

As the glass doors of the hospital slid open, I stepped inside, cool air wrapping around me, but my skin was still burning.

Dominic’s voice echoed in my head.

"I’m taking you to my place... I’ve got something I want to show you at home. Something... fun."

I swallowed hard.

Fun.

With Dominic, "fun" could mean literally anything...from the investigation to him pinning me against a wall and...

Oh god.

My pulse thundered as I veered into a quiet corner of the waiting area, pressing my back against the hospital wall.

Was he serious? Did Dominic actually want...me? Like that?

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to catch my breath.

It wasn’t the first time Dominic had flirted. He always did. It was practically his second language. Dirty jokes, teasing touches, those looks that made my chest tighten and my face burn. Those damn blue eyes.

But lately...it felt different.

Like the way he’d touched my chest. Or the way he kept looking at my mouth like he was starving.

Or the way he’d said: "I’m gonna make you scream my name one of these days."

Shit.

Did he actually want me? Or was it just a game for him?

And even worse...

Did I want him?

My mind replayed the feeling of Dominic’s thumb brushing my bottom lip. His palm on my chest. The way he stared at me and leaned in, like like he was picturing all kinds of filthy things he’d do to me. Like he wanted to devour me whole.

I tried to shake it off.

No. No. I’m just confused. It’s Dominic. He teases everyone.

Except...he didn’t look at everyone else the way he looked at me.

And the truth was...

When he leaned in like that...

When he whispered dirty things in that low voice...

When he touched me...

I wanted more.

I stared down at my trembling hands.

Holy shit. Do I...do I actually want him?

God. I actually want it.

My chest squeezed.

Shit...Am I gay?
