Chapter 236: Beyond the Sand and Dust 2
"Look what I found!"
It dug out a large backpack from the pile of earth, excitedly turned it upside down, and shook out the items inside.
A large bag of Gold Coins, gemstones that were Brilliantly dazzling, golden necklaces...
Even those exquisite little cards that could only be seen in the hands of those underground big merchants!
Watching so many splendid treasures scattered on the ground, the Sand Lizardfolk were all silenced for a moment,
Gazing dumbly at these riches, their breathing began to grow heavy, and the blood that was always cold inside them seemed to heat up.
After a moment of silence, roars of cheers burst out one after another like a mountain torrent.
"It’s a woman! A Great Noble at that!"

"This..."
For a moment, the eyes of the Sand Lizardfolk Leader were dazzled by the glow of the gemstones and Gold Coins, his heartbeat quickening.
Although he wasn’t all that intelligent, just slightly better than his kin, he also understood these were not things an ordinary Adventurer could possess.
He vaguely perceived something was amiss, and casually stuck the Rusty Sword into the ground.
After scanning his surroundings, the Sand Lizardfolk Leader squatted down, picking up a Finger Claw next to a small red bird.
The little red bird did not move, its bean-sized golden pupils watching his actions without sorrow or joy.
"Could it be, a Legendary Inherited Weapon...?"
The Sand Lizardfolk Leader stared blankly at the Finger Claw, feeling the surging Magic Power within, his yellow-brown pupils becoming Unpredictable.
The Finger Claw was small, and his thick knuckles could not fit into it -- another had gone missing, but this did not stop him from understanding the value of the Finger Claw.
Without exaggeration, even if sold to the hardest-bargaining black-market dealer, this Finger Claw alone would ensure that the whole clan could live without worries for the rest of their lives!
Excited whispers from his subordinates came from beside him.
"Has that Humankind escaped? Could she have more good things on her?"
"My god, Mithril and gold, how much money can that fetch!"
"We might be able to exchange all of our Weapons for new ones!"
"With so much money, how great a Noble must her family be, a Baron? A Viscount?"
"Maybe it’s the Border Count!"
"Ha ha ha, you fool, why would someone from the Border Count’s house come to this godforsaken place?"
"If we capture her, we might even get a ransom..."
All the Sand Lizardfolk were immersed in the Radiance of the fortune before them, completely ignoring the red fuzzy ball and the Black Snake On the Verge of Death.
No one cared about making a meal of them; they were only discussing how to divide and squander this enormous wealth that had fallen into their hands, emotions of feverish greed spreading like a plague.
However, unlike the Exhilaration of his subordinates, the expression on the Sand Lizardfolk Leader’s face became increasingly somber.
"A Great Noble’s woman..."
He muttered to himself, his voice low and hoarse.
Suddenly, the Sand Lizardfolk Leader set down the Finger Claw, stood up, and slowly gripped the Claymore on the ground.
1-3. Chase her down and kill her!♛
4-6. Offer to the Earth Devouring Snail, move to the other side of the mountain
7-9. Capture her!
10. Critical Success/Extreme Failure

"——We must find and kill that woman!"
The Sand Lizardfolk Leader fiercely pulled out the Claymore, lifting it high and roaring with fury.
His shouts filled with murderous intent echoed in the empty Otherworld, shocking the Sand Lizardfolk into halting their activities, looking toward him without comprehension.
"Why, boss? Do we have to chase her down?"
Someone couldn’t help but ask.
Usually, they were only after the treasure, and even if the occasional unfortunate Adventurer got swallowed in, as long as the person surrendered sensibly and pleaded, they usually wouldn’t make things too difficult for them and would voluntarily escort them out safely.
Although the Sand Lizardfolk did not fear killing, the order from their chief that contradicted their usual practice puzzled them.
"Fools!"
Glancing angrily at the subordinate who asked, the Sand Lizardfolk Leader growled.
"Do you think a Great Noble is on the same level as those poverty-stricken Adventurers? You have no idea how much these things are worth!"
He pointed at the Finger Claw at his feet, his roaring voice shaking the feathers of the little red bird.
"These items are priceless, it’s not something you fellows can understand! She’s a Noble Lady, carrying so much wealth with her already, her family must have even more!
"Do you think she would just let it go, knowing her possessions were left here? Huh? Impossible!"
The Leader gripped the Claymore tightly, taking a deep breath.
"If we allow her to leave the Highland alive, she will definitely spend a lot of money to hire more, stronger Adventurers to come here, and might even directly use the power of her family, bringing armies and Legendaries over!"
Armies and Legendaries—
A shiver ran through the Sand Lizardfolk, their fervor quickly cooling down as if a bucket of cold water was poured over them.
The Earth Devouring Snail was indeed strong, but it was not invincible on the Highland, otherwise its territory would not be limited to here.
They understood that once the Noble Lady put out a commission to hunt the Earth Devouring Snail, the "tranquility" that the clan relied on for survival would inevitably be shattered.
Unless the Sand Lizardfolk were willing to abandon this familiar territory, moving to other regions, but why should they flee just because they took something from a human Noble?
