Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All
Chapter 723: Result

Chapter 723: Chapter 723: Result

Yu Holea’s steady voice cut through the thick silence, her gaze locked onto Mr. Yu’s with unwavering resolve.

"Fine," she repeated, her expression unreadable. "Let’s settle this once and for all."

Mr. Yu’s smirk widened, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "Good. I’ll arrange the test."

Yu Sile, still reeling from her sudden decision, shot her a sharp look. "Holea, you don’t have to entertain his madness—"

"It’s not about entertaining him," she interrupted, her tone calm but firm. "It’s about proving him wrong."

Mr. Yu chuckled, tapping his fingers against the armrest of his chair. "Oh, I can’t wait for your reaction. This will be entertaining indeed."

Yu Sile inhaled sharply, his patience wearing thin.

"You act like you’re so confident, but if you had real proof, you would have shown it by now."

"Would I?" Mr. Yu leaned forward, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper.

"Maybe I wanted to see if you’d be brave enough to find out the truth on your own."

"Mr. Yu, you shouldn’t be here gossiping with us. Instead, you should be thinking as to how to save your daughter." Yu Holea reminded.

Mr. Yu’s expression changed.

He turned to leave but paused and looked at Yu Holea with a smirk,

"Let’s see if you can still be the favorite of your siblings once they know the truth."

Yu Holea clenched her fist and remained silent.

Once Mr. Yu left, Yu Sile stared at Yu Holea with a frown and asked,

"Why did you remain silent? Why are you conducting a DNA test in the first place?"

Yu Holea pursed her lips.

She would never admit that it was because of the appearance difference.

All the Yu Siblings had black hair, so why was her hair silver?

Because of her curse?

Yu Holea disagreed. If a curse could truly change her appearance, why not make her ugly? Why change the color of her hair?

Strange...

Yet, she didn’t voice her doubts directly to Yu Sile.

"It’s just a formality," she finally said, her voice steady. "If this test will shut Mr. Yu up once and for all, then so be it."

Yu Sile didn’t look convinced. He folded his arms, his sharp eyes scrutinizing her every movement.

"You’re hiding something."

"If I were, would it change anything?" she asked coolly.

"The truth remains the same. I am Yu Holea, regardless of whatever nonsense Mr. Yu spouts."

Yu Sile sighed but didn’t push further.

He knew that once she made a decision, there was little anyone could do to change her mind.

Still, an unsettling feeling nagged at him. Something about all of this didn’t sit right.

Yu Holea took one of Yu Sile’s hair and her own and went to a DNA testing center.

After submitting the hair, she found out that the result would be out by tomorrow.

That night, when Yu Holea lay in the bed, her heart was filled with anxiety.

What she didn’t know was that a black car arrived at the DNA testing center at midnight.

From it, Yu Sicong came out. He fixed his suit and looked around to ensure no one had seen him before entering the center.

He walked up to the receptionist and said her name.

The receptionist bowed and led him to a waiting room. Soon, the report arrived in Yu Sicong’s hand.

He took a deep breath and was about to open it when another hand snatched the report away.

Yu Sicong looked ahead and saw Qiao Jun, who had a cold expression on his face.

"Give me the report back." Yu Sicong said with a displeased expression.

Qiao Jun held the report tightly in his grip, his cold gaze locking onto Yu Sicong’s.

"You really couldn’t wait, could you?" Qiao Jun’s voice was laced with disdain. "What are you so afraid of, Sicong?"

Yu Sicong clenched his jaw.

"Give it back. This concerns Holea. She should be the first to see it."

Qiao Jun scoffed but didn’t move to return the document.

"If that were true, you wouldn’t have come here in the middle of the night to intercept it."

Yu Sicong’s fists tightened. "I just wanted to be sure. What if—"

"What if she’s not a Yu?" Qiao Jun interrupted, his tone unreadable. "Would that change anything for you?"

He didn’t give Yu Sicong a chance and instead asked him with a sharp gaze,

"Will you kick her out if she isn’t one of the Yu’s? Or are you planning to maintain your distance once you know about her true identity?"

Yu Sicong’s eyes narrowed, and he said calmly,

"No. I would change the report if she were truly my stepsister. I can’t bear to see her sad."

Qiao Jun blinked as he was a bit taken aback. However, he still didn’t give up and continued,

"So why do you even want to check the report?"

"To know if there is a need to change the report." Another voice interrupted their conversation.

When Qiao Jun turned around, he saw Yu Shuchang and Yu Sile standing at the entrance.

Both of them entered the room. Qiao Jun’s eyes fell on the reports in Yu Shuchang’s hand, he raised an eyebrow.

Finally, he pushed the report back to Yu Sicong’s hand.

When Yu Sicong opened the report, his grip on the report tightened.

Yu Sile couldn’t hold back his curiosity and hurriedly leaned in to see,

"Eh? This is showing that Yu Holea is indeed our sister!"

Yu Sicong remained silent, his fingers tightening around the paper.

His reaction wasn’t one of relief but deep contemplation, as if something about the result didn’t sit right with him.

Yu Sile, on the other hand, let out a relieved breath.

"See? That old man was just trying to mess with us again. Holea is one of us."

He patted Yu Sicong on the shoulder. "Now we can all go home and put this nonsense to rest."

Yu Shuchang, who had been quiet this whole time, frowned. His sharp eyes shifted between the report and Sicong’s unreadable expression.

"Sicong, you don’t look happy. What’s wrong?"

Sicong exhaled slowly, his grip finally loosening.

He glanced at Qiao Jun, who was still observing him with a knowing look.

"Nothing," Sicong finally said, folding the report and slipping it into his coat pocket. "We should go."

Yu Sile and Yu Shuchang nodded.

Both of them left.

As Yu Sicong was passing by, he paused and looked at Qiao Jun with a complicated gaze,

"You know something, right? Something we don’t know?"

Qiao Jun remained silent and shook his head,

"Not really. Anyways, I am tired. I will leave."

.......................

The next morning, Yu Holea sat in the living room, her fingers loosely clasped around a steaming cup of tea.

The night had been long, her sleep restless, plagued by strange dreams she couldn’t quite remember.

She heard footsteps approaching and glanced up just as Yu Sicong, Yu Sile, and Yu Shuchang entered the room.

"You have the results?" she asked, forcing her voice to remain steady.

Yu Sile grinned as he handed her the report. "It’s official. You’re a Yu."

Holea took the document, her heart pounding as she scanned the words.

The result was exactly what she had expected—or rather, what she had hoped for.

But as her eyes traced the lines of text, she couldn’t shake the nagging doubt in the back of her mind.

Why did it feel too convenient?

She had prepared herself for anything, even the possibility of not being a Yu. Yet, the certainty in the report made her uneasy.

She lifted her gaze to Sicong, who stood stiffly by the doorway.

His expression was unreadable, but there was something in his eyes that made her pause.

Something about this wasn’t right.

Still, she forced a small smile. "Good. Then this matter is settled."

Yu Sile clapped her shoulder.

"Of course, it is! I told you, Mr. Yu was just trying to mess with us. Now we can move on."

Shuchang nodded but didn’t speak. His gaze flickered toward Sicong, who remained quiet.

Finally, Sicong exhaled. "Right. It’s settled."

He walked up to Yu Holea and rubbed her hair,

"Lea, you are one of us, and a piece of paper can’t decide whether or not you are a sister. For us...you will always be our sister!"

"Thank you, Sicong. That means a lot." Yu Holea smiled back.

Yu Sile grinned. "Now, can we stop with all the drama? Breakfast is getting cold."

The tension eased slightly as they moved to the dining room.

The table was already set, and for a moment, things felt normal.

Mr. Yu slammed his fist onto his desk, his face twisting in frustration.

He knew the truth—Yu Holea was not his daughter. Yet, the DNA results contradicted his certainty.

His mind raced. Had the results been tampered with? If so, by whom?

A knock at the door made him snap his head up.

The door creaks open, and his assistant, Zhao Lin, steps in, her expression unreadable.
