Chapter 722: DNA Test
Chapter 722: Chapter 722: DNA Test
"Shameless girl!" Mr. Yu seethed.
"Do you think I don’t know about your influence? You must have paid off officials, manipulated evidence—just to take her down!"
Yu Sile, who had been standing silently, finally spoke up, her tone measured but firm.
"Mr. Yu, accusations without proof are nothing more than empty threats. If Yu Mei was truly innocent, then the law would not have convicted her so easily. Are you saying the judiciary system is corrupt?"
Her sharp gaze met his. "If so, do you have evidence?"
Mr. Yu faltered for a moment but quickly regained his anger.
"I don’t need evidence to know the kind of person you are, Yu Holea. You always had an agenda.
First, Leng Huan, and now Qiao Jun! You’re a venomous woman who stops at nothing to get what she wants."
Yu Holea’s expression turned icy. "And your daughter isn’t?"
Mr. Yu fell silent for a moment. Then, he sighed deeply, his face showing disappointment.
"Yu Holea," he said slowly, "are you jealous? Jealous that I only see Yu Mei as my daughter?"
Yu Holea didn’t react, but Mr. Yu continued, his voice turning serious.
"I will accept you as my daughter," he said, looking straight into her eyes.
"But only if you take back all the charges against Yu Mei and put them on yourself."
Yu Holea rolled her eyes. "Not interested," she said coldly.
Yu Sile, who had been watching, looked at Mr. Yu like he had lost his mind. "Mr. Yu, are you okay? Do you have some kind of mental illness?"
Mr. Yu shot him a sharp glare, and Yu Sile immediately pursed his lips, deciding to stay quiet.
Then, Mr. Yu turned back to Yu Holea, his expression dark and sinister.
"If you don’t take back the charges," he said in a low voice, "I will make sure the people you care about end up in jail too."
Yu Holea’s eyes narrowed. "Are you threatening me?" she asked.
Mr. Yu smiled. "The Yu Corporation is still in my hands. If I want, I can kick Yu Sicong out."
To his surprise, Yu Sile smirked. "Go ahead," he said. "Kick him out."
Mr. Yu glared at him, clearly not expecting that response. His expression grew colder.
"I can also block all of your credit cards," he said. "Let’s see how you survive then."
Yu Sile looked at him like he was stupid. "Mr. Yu," he said, shaking his head.
"Yu Shuchang has a net worth of 2 billion yuan. Yu Sicong owns real estate worth 5 billion yuan. Even if you cut us off, we’ll survive just fine. We don’t need your money."
Mr. Yu’s face darkened. He turned back to Yu Holea, staring at her with sharp eyes.
"Then you will be the one to suffer the most," he said.
Yu Holea blinked, then looked at him like he was an idiot.
"I haven’t used your name for anything in six years," she said. "I’ve been living on my own just fine."
Mr. Yu was stunned. He had no words.
Yu Sile patted Mr. Yu’s shoulder and said,
"Mr. Yu, you have become old. Better to stay at home."
Mr. Yu slapped Yu Sile’s hand away, his face twisted with rage.
"You think this is funny?!" he snapped.
"You arrogant brats think you can humiliate me? I built the Yu family from the ground up! Without me, none of you would be where you are today!"
Yu Sile sighed, clearly unimpressed.
"And yet, here you are, throwing a tantrum like a child who lost his favorite toy."
Yu Holea pointed out,
"Well, it was grandpa who had built the Yu Family from the ground."
Mr. Yu’s nostrils flared. He turned back to Yu Holea, his expression dark and menacing.
"You think you’re so independent? So untouchable?" He leaned in slightly, his voice lowering to a dangerous whisper.
"If you don’t take back those charges, I will make sure you regret it. I will crush you."
Yu Holea crossed her arms, her expression calm. "Go ahead," she said flatly. "I’d love to see you try."
Mr. Yu’s hand twitched as if he was tempted to strike her, but he held himself back. Instead, he forced a cold smile.
"You still don’t get it, do you?" he said slowly.
"It’s not just about money or power. It’s about connections. Influence. I can make sure no one dares to help you. I can turn your friends against you. I can destroy your reputation."
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow. "Are you done?"
Mr. Yu’s eye twitched.
Yu Sile chuckled beside her.
"Wow, Mr. Yu, you’re really living in a fantasy world. You think you’re some all-powerful villain, but in reality, you’re just a bitter old man grasping at control that’s slipping through your fingers."
Mr. Yu clenched his fists, but before he could say another word, Yu Holea spoke again, her tone calm but sharp.
"I don’t need your approval. I don’t need your money. And I certainly don’t need to prove anything to you."
She stepped forward, meeting his gaze head-on.
"So go ahead. Try whatever you want. But just the fact that you came here shows how helpless you are."
Mr. Yu’s face was twisted with fury. His hands trembled as he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
"Get in here," he barked.
Within moments, his assistant entered the villa, his posture stiff and cautious as if he already anticipated trouble.
The tension in the air was suffocating, but the assistant remained composed, standing a few steps away from Mr. Yu.
"In front of them," Mr. Yu ordered, jerking his chin toward Yu Holea and Yu Sile, "make the call. I want Yu Sicong out of the company. Effective immediately."
The assistant hesitated, his brows knitting together.
"Sir... are you sure?" His voice was careful, almost pleading.
"It was under Yu Sicong’s guidance that Yu Corporation saw its most significant growth in decades. Removing him—"
"I didn’t ask for your opinion!" Mr. Yu thundered, his patience snapping. "Just do as I say!"
The assistant clenched his jaw but eventually nodded.
"Understood, sir." He took out his phone, but there was a distinct reluctance in his movements.
Yu Sile, who had been watching the exchange with a bitter expression, let out a quiet scoff.
"So, that’s how it is," he muttered, shaking his head. He lifted his gaze to Mr. Yu, his tone edged with something colder than mockery—disappointment.
"Let me guess," Yu Sile said, crossing his arms. "You’re planning to hand over everything to Yu Mei?"
Mr. Yu sneered.
"And what, do you expect me to let those lunatic Yu brothers inherit instead? The same ones who are absolutely obsessed with their dear step-sister, Yu Holea?"
Yu Sile threw his head back and laughed. It wasn’t a lighthearted laugh—it was sharp, cynical, almost pitying.
"You really have lost it, old man," he said, wiping the corner of his eye. "Yu Mei is our step-sister. Not Yu Holea."
Yu Holea, who had been standing quietly, nodded in agreement, her expression unreadable.
Something flickered in Mr. Yu’s eyes.
For a second, his face was blank, as though he had been caught off guard by the response.
Then, a slow, almost eerie smile stretched across his lips.
"You think so?" he murmured.
"Well then, if you don’t believe me, why don’t you go and get a DNA test?"
Yu Sile’s expression froze.
Even Yu Holea, who had remained indifferent for most of the conversation, narrowed her eyes slightly, studying Mr. Yu’s face.
His confidence wasn’t an act—he genuinely believed what he was saying.
"You are lying." Yu Sile said with confidence.
Mr. Yu’s smirk deepened, his expression laced with a twisted satisfaction. He took a slow step forward, his presence domineering.
"Lying?" he echoed, his tone almost amused.
"Oh, Sile, you always thought you were clever, didn’t you? But tell me, do I look like I’m bluffing?"
Yu Sile clenched his jaw, his fingers twitching at his sides.
His instincts screamed that this was just another one of Mr. Yu’s mind games, another ploy to throw them off.
But... the sheer confidence in his voice, the way his lips curled into that maddeningly smug grin—it made something uneasy stir in his gut.
Yu Holea, standing beside him, remained impassive, though her eyes darkened slightly.
"If you’re so certain," she said coolly, "then present the proof."
"Why should I?" Mr. Yu said confidently.
Yu Sile narrowed his eyes, his body tense. "Then why should we even entertain this nonsense?"
"Because," Mr. Yu’s voice dropped lower, his smile stretching wider, "if I’m telling the truth... then everything you thought you knew about your family—about her—" he flicked his gaze toward Yu Holea, "has been a lie."
Silence thickened in the room, heavy and suffocating.
Yu Sile was about to retort, to call his bluff once again, when he felt Yu Holea shift beside him.
She exhaled softly, her voice steady as she said, "Fine."
Yu Sile turned to her, surprised. "Holea—"
