Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All
Chapter 712: Susan’s Confession

Chapter 712: Chapter 712: Susan’s Confession

Sheng Yin shivered, her resolve crumbling as his hand inched higher, his touch searing through the fabric.

The spoon clattered against the pot as her grip faltered, her body betraying her completely.

"Cut!"

But this time, Yu Shuchang didn’t pull away. His lips brushed her ear, his voice a low growl that sent a shiver down her spine.

"Tell me to stop," he whispered, his breath hot against her skin. "Or I’ll keep going."

Sheng Yin’s breath came in short, shallow gasps, her body trembling with a mix of fear and desire. She wanted to tell him to stop, to end this torment.

But the words wouldn’t come. Instead, she leaned into him, her body answering for her as his hand slid higher, his touch igniting a fire she could no longer ignore.

Yu Shuchang’s smirk widened, his grip tightening as he murmured, "Good girl."

After the scene, Sheng Yin requested a break.

She even started to doubt if she could continue to act if she remained near Yu Shuchang for even a minute more...

Just then, her assistant Susan entered the room.

She looked at Sheng Yin with a hesitant expression and asked,

"Miss Sheng, can I ask you something?"

Sheng Yin suddenly felt guilty and tried her best to act calm,

"Yes, go ahead."

"Are you...in love with Yu Shuchang?" Susan asked.

Sheng Yin’s breath hitched at Susan’s confession.

She hadn’t expected this, not now, not after the whirlwind of emotions that had just torn through her.

Susan knelt before her, eyes wide with hope and desperation.

"Miss Sheng, please be honest with me. If you like him, I will step back. But if you don’t... then I will pursue him." Her voice wavered slightly, betraying her nervousness.

Sheng Yin swallowed, forcing her heart to slow its erratic pace. She wasn’t sure how to answer.

Was she in love with Yu Shuchang? She wasn’t even sure of her own emotions at this point.

But...in all honestly if she hadn’t intervened, Yu Shuchang should have ended up liking Susan...

"Susan," she said softly, regaining a fraction of her composure. "I—"

Before she could finish, the door to the break room swung open, and in strode Yu Shuchang himself.

His eyes flicked between Susan on her knees and Sheng Yin’s conflicted expression. He arched an eyebrow.

"Am I interrupting something?" he asked, his voice as smooth as ever, but there was an unmistakable edge to it.

Susan scrambled to her feet, her face flushing. "Mr. Yu! I—I was just..." She clutched her phone nervously.

"I was just asking Miss Sheng something important. Please don’t misunderstand her...she was not bullying me."

Her last sounded as if she was forced to say such things.

Sheng Yin’s eyes narrowed.

Yu Shuchang asked curiously to Sheng Yin.

"Oh? What was she asking?"

In fact, he had already heard their conversation and wanted to hear the answer too, hence, he entered the room.

Sheng Yin took a steadying breath.

This wasn’t how she wanted things to unfold, especially not in front of him. But she had no choice now.

"Susan asked if I was in love with you," Sheng Yin said, her voice even. "She said if I was, she would step aside."

Silence hung between them. The air grew thick with an unspoken tension.

Yu Shuchang’s expression didn’t change, but something dark flickered in his eyes.

He took a step closer, his presence overwhelming, and looked at Susan.

"And what would you do if she said yes?"

He looked as if he would snap Susan’s neck if she dared to say anything crazy.

Susan’s hands clenched into fists.

"Then I would respect her feelings and move on," she said, though her voice was barely above a whisper.

Yu Shuchang turned his attention back to Sheng Yin.

"And what do you say?"

Sheng Yin felt trapped, like prey caught in the gaze of a predator.

Her fingers curled at her sides. If she denied it, it would mean nothing. If she admitted it, she wasn’t sure what would happen next.

Finally, she forced herself to meet his eyes.

"I only see you as my friend. Nothing more."

Even though she said so, Sheng Yin felt as if someone was pricking needles in her heart.

She felt a lump in her throat. With great difficulty, she tried to stop herself from crying.

In her last life, maybe she would have been able to give up Yu Shuchang. He was cold and indifferent to her.

But this Yu Shuchang...

He was completely different.

He showed her signs that maybe...maybe he was in love with her.

But does she dare to believe it?

The reality was that her past life was over, but she still hasn’t gotten over it yet.

She wants to give up on him and let him have a happy ending with Susan, but her selfishness doesn’t allow her.

So she decided to harden her heart and tell a lie.

Susan, who was standing behind, was instantly thrilled.

"So I can pursue Mr. Yu, right? Thank you, Miss Sheng! You are truly generous!"

She turned toward Yu Shuchang and said,

"Sir, I will chase you from now on."

Yu Shuchang stared at Sheng Yin and slowly said,

"No need, I already have an answer for you."

Yu Shuchang’s gaze remained fixed on Sheng Yin, his dark eyes unreadable.

Then, as if making up his mind, he turned toward Susan, his expression softening slightly.

"Yes," he said, his voice steady. "I’ll date you."

Susan gasped, her eyes widening in shock before quickly filling with overwhelming joy.

"Really?!" she breathed, almost unable to believe her ears. "You mean it?"

Yu Shuchang gave a small nod, his expression unreadable.

"I’ve liked you for a long time, Susan," he said, his tone gentle.

"I just never dared to pursue you because I didn’t want to scare you off. But now, since you’ve confessed, I can finally say it. I don’t want to waste any more time. Let’s be together."

Sheng Yin felt as if someone had plunged a dagger straight into her heart.

Her entire body went cold.

The warmth drained from her fingers, from her toes, from her very core.

Her lips parted slightly, but no sound came out. It was as if she had forgotten how to breathe.

She wanted to be happy for them. She wanted to convince herself that this was what she had wanted all along—to let go of Yu Shuchang, to push him toward his destined future with Susan.

But the raw, unfiltered pain that spread through her chest told her otherwise.

Her selfishness betrayed her.

A dull ringing filled her ears as she watched Yu Shuchang’s hand lift toward Susan’s cheek. His movements were slow, deliberate, affectionate.

No.

Her heart pounded violently against her ribs as she saw him lean in, his lips inching toward Susan’s.

Her vision blurred at the edges, and her legs threatened to give way beneath her.

No.

She wanted to turn away, but she couldn’t.

Then, suddenly—

"I don’t like you."

The words shattered through the illusion like a hammer breaking fragile glass.

Sheng Yin blinked rapidly, her breath catching in her throat.

She hadn’t realized that she had been trapped in a false reality of her own making. Her mind had spiraled into a nightmare, painting an image that was never real.

She looked up, heart pounding, and saw the truth.

Yu Shuchang stood before Susan, his expression indifferent, his stance firm. His voice was calm, but the finality in his tone was undeniable.

"I don’t like you, Susan. I never have, and I never will," he stated clearly, his gaze unwavering. "There is no chance for you to pursue me."

Susan stood frozen, her expression twisting with disbelief. "But... you said—"

"I never said anything," Yu Shuchang interrupted smoothly.

"You assumed. And I let you, just long enough to make my point."

His sharp, knowing gaze flickered toward Sheng Yin for the briefest moment before returning to Susan.

"Don’t waste your time, Susan. My heart was never yours to chase."

Susan’s lips trembled as the weight of rejection crashed down on her.

Meanwhile, Sheng Yin’s breath finally came back to her in uneven, shallow bursts.

The cold suffocating her heart slowly lifted, replaced by something else—an emotion she dared not name.

So maybe...Yu Shuchang still hasn’t fallen for Susan in this life...

Just as she thought so, Yu Shuchang turned around, placed his hand on the armrest, and leaned toward Sheng Yin.

He moved closer to her ears and said in a voice that only two of them could hear,

"Miss Sheng is truly ruthless."

His deep voice resonated in her ear, coupled with the warm breath near her ears, Sheng Yin’s heart was drumming.

He chuckled and goosebumps appeared on Sheng Yin’s neck as he continued,

"The next scene is a kiss and ear biting sequence, I would love to see how our dear Miss Sheng can hold on."
