Chapter 710: Location

Chapter 710: Chapter 710: Location

Luo Bin’s eyes sparkled with hope as she turned to Yu Holea. "Really? You got it?" she asked eagerly.

Yu Holea, however, didn’t answer right away.

Instead, she crossed her arms and looked at Luo Bin with an unreadable expression. After a few seconds, she finally spoke.

"No," she said firmly. "I won’t give it to you."

Luo Bin’s face froze. "What?" she asked, her voice shaking. "Why not?"

Yu Holea’s gaze didn’t waver. "Because I don’t trust you."

Luo Bin’s expression changed immediately.

Her eyes widened, and her lips trembled as if she had just been struck.

Slowly, she turned to her father, Luo Murong, looking heartbroken.

"Father..." she whispered, tears forming in her eyes.

Luo Murong glared at Yu Holea.

"Holea, what’s wrong with you? Bin is my daughter! Why are you being so harsh to her today?"

Yu Holea remained calm.

She didn’t react to his anger, nor did she explain herself.

She simply stood there as if Luo Bin’s tears didn’t affect her at all.

Luo Bin sniffled and wiped her eyes, trying to look as pitiful as possible.

"Why are you being so mean to me?" she sobbed.

"I’ve done nothing wrong... I just wanted to help! Father, aren’t you going to say anything? She’s treating me so unfairly!"

Luo Murong clenched his fists, his expression serious.

"Holea," he said, his voice tense. "Explain yourself. Why are you treating my daughter like this?"

Yu Holea didn’t respond. Instead, she simply turned her gaze away, as if Luo Murong’s words didn’t concern her.

Luo Bin bit her lip and looked down, her body shaking slightly.

Then, she suddenly took a step toward Yu Holea, her movements slow and hesitant, as if she was still crying.

"Holea..." she murmured weakly, stepping closer. "Please..."

Then, all of a sudden—

"Ahhh!" Luo Bin let out a loud scream and flung herself backward.

She fell onto the ground, her arms flailing as if she had been pushed.

A gasp spread through the room. Luo Bin’s face was full of shock and pain as she looked up at Yu Holea.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she clutched her wrist as if it were injured.

"Why...?" she whimpered. "Why did you push me?"

Luo Murong’s eyes darkened.

His entire body tensed as he took a step forward.

"Yu Holea!" he shouted angrily. "What do you think you’re doing?!"

But Yu Holea didn’t move. She didn’t even blink.

Instead, she simply stared at Luo Bin, her lips curling slightly in amusement.

"Interesting," she murmured softly. "Very interesting."

Luo Bin sniffled, her tears falling even faster. "Father... she’s so cruel..." she sobbed. "She doesn’t even care!"

Luo Murong turned toward Yu Holea, his face furious. "Holea, apologize to my daughter right now!"

But Yu Holea only tilted her head slightly. Then, she spoke in a calm, almost lazy voice.

"I never touched her."

Luo Bin lay on the ground, clutching her wrist and sniffling.

Her wide, teary eyes stared up at Yu Holea as if she were a victim of some terrible injustice.

The way she trembled, the way she bit her lip—anyone watching would think she had truly been hurt.

"Father..." she whimpered, her voice shaking. "She pushed me... Why would she do that?"

Then suddenly, as if she thought of something terrifying, she asked,

"Father...maybe...maybe she isn’t Yu Holea...she is a reptilian shapeshifter!"

Luo Murong’s expression changed.

Luo Bin instantly stood up and rushed to attack Yu Holea,

"You imposter, I will kill you!"

Yu Holea calmly dodged and turned toward Luo Murong,

"Now you understand?"

Luo Murong’s expression turned complex before he nodded.

Luo Bin stopped and looked at Luo Murong with a confused expression,

"What? What is going on?"

Yu Holea chuckled and explained calmly,

"You see, Luo Bin will never doubt my identity. She has been my senior and friend for more than 4 years, and if she doubts my identity, she would tell it right away."

"Also, she never likes to cry and uses cheap white lotus schemes to frame anyone." Luo Murong explained.

Luo Bin paused before a huge, creepy smile appeared on her face,

"You’re not my daughter," Luo Murong said coldly, his voice laced with anger. "Who are you?"

Luo Bin—or rather, the imposter—let out a soft chuckle before straightening her posture.

The innocence in her demeanor faded completely, replaced by something far more sinister.

"You figured it out a little too late, don’t you think?" she cooed mockingly.

"But I have to admit, playing the pitiful daughter was rather fun. Such a shame it didn’t work."

Yu Holea narrowed her eyes. "You planned this from the start. Was it just to get the Dark Warden’s Seal?"

"Oh, Holea," the imposter sighed dramatically, placing a hand on her hip.

"You give yourself too much credit. The seal is just one piece of the puzzle. But breaking your trust? Turning you against each other? That’s far more entertaining."

Luo Murong clenched his fists, his expression dark. "Where is my real daughter?"

The imposter laughed, a shrill and unsettling sound. "Wouldn’t you like to know?"

Before anyone could react, her body began to shift.

Her skin rippled like waves on a pond, scales appearing in patches before fully transforming.

Her eyes, once human, turned into reptilian slits that gleamed in the dim light. Her fingers lengthened, sharp claws replacing her neatly trimmed nails.

The reptilian shapeshifter—no longer Luo Bin—grinned, baring razor-sharp teeth.

"You’re right to be cautious. After all, I’ve been watching you both for a long time."

With inhuman speed, she lunged forward, her claws aimed straight for Yu Holea’s throat.

But Yu Holea was faster. She flicked her fingers, summoning a golden talisman that shot forward, forming a barrier in midair. The shapeshifter crashed into it, hissing as the mystic energy burned her skin.

"Ahhh!" she shrieked, leaping back as dark smoke rose from her sizzling scales. "You’re really annoying, Holea."

Yu Holea smirked. "I get that a lot."

Luo Murong didn’t hesitate.

He drew his weapon, a long silver blade enchanted with fire energy, and swung it toward the creature. She barely dodged, but the tip of the blade grazed her arm, leaving behind a deep, glowing wound.

The shapeshifter screeched, clutching her arm. "You’ll pay for that! I will kill your daughter!"

Luo Murong’s face changed, and he asked with a serious expression,

"Is she under your control?"

"Yes." The shapeshifter smiled. "As long as you hand Yu Holea to me, I will return your daughter to you."

Luo Murong gritted his teeth and remained silent; he didn’t agree to the condition at all.

Though he was desperate to save his daughter, it didn’t mean he would sacrifice someone else’s daughter.

The shapeshifter chuckled and turned toward Yu Holea, who had a dazed look,

"What? Are you finally scared? Holea, if he had wanted to protect you, he wouldn’t have stayed silent! Do you understand what I mean?

He doesn’t value you! As compared to his useless daughter who could be easily captured by us, you, a good soldier who can deceive even us, don’t hold a candle against his daughter!"

Luo Murong’s grip on his sword tightened. His eyes, usually so calm and calculating, now burned with an internal war.

"Where is she?" he demanded, voice sharp as steel.

The shapeshifter shrugged, her clawed fingers playing idly with a strand of her dark hair. "Safe... for now. But the longer you hesitate, the more dangerous her situation becomes."

Yu Holea stepped forward, raising her talisman slightly. "And if I refuse to go with you?"

The creature grinned wider. "Then I’ll make sure you hear your precious friend’s screams as I rip her apart, piece by piece."

A tense silence settled in the air.

Yu Holea exhaled slowly, eyes flickering to Luo Murong. "You don’t believe her, do you?"

Luo Murong hesitated. "I can’t take that risk."

Yu Holea scoffed, her lips curling in disappointment. "I see."

The shapeshifter’s eyes gleamed with victory.

"That’s right, Holea. You see now, don’t you? You’re nothing but a tool. A disposable pawn."

Yu Holea didn’t react. Instead, she took a single step forward. The talisman in her palm pulsed with an unseen force, its golden aura intensifying.

The shapeshifter’s confidence wavered. "What are you—"

Before she could finish, Yu Holea hurled the talisman straight at her forehead. The moment it made contact, the creature let out a piercing shriek.

"No! You—!" The reptilian horror clawed at the glowing mark now seared into her skin.

Her form trembled violently, flickering between her stolen appearance and her monstrous true self.

It watched how Luo Murong didn’t even stop and only smiled.

Doesn’t he care for his daughter?

As if sensing his question, Yu Holea chuckled,

"Oh, don’t worry, I was the one who asked him to act like that so that I could get enough time to find Luo Bin’s true location. Once I did, I signalled him, and he moved aside.

And for your information, he does value otherwise, he wouldn’t be standing here instead of running to find his daughter."
