"Well, maybe I overheard you talking about it to someone else. Or maybe I just noticed you avoid coconut dishes before."

Yu Shuchang studied her face for a long moment, his sharp eyes narrowing slightly as if he were trying to see through her.

Sheng Yin tried to keep her expression calm, but inside, she was panicking.

Finally, Yu Shuchang leaned back in his chair, a lazy smile spreading across his face.

"Hmm. You’re more observant than I thought."

Sheng Yin let out a silent breath of relief.

Mrs. Yu, who had been listening quietly, chuckled.

"Our Yin truly acted like a wife just now."

Sheng Yin almost choked on her water.

She forced a smile, pretending she hadn’t heard that.

Suddenly she felt a hand on her thighs. Sheng Yin’s heart skipped a beat and she turned around, only to see Yu Shuchang smiling and chatting with Mrs. Yu.

Sheng Yin slowly slid her left hand and tried to push away Yu Shuchang’s hand.

But Yu Shuchang didn’t move his hand.

In fact, he gripped her thigh a little tighter, like he was teasing her on purpose.

Sheng Yin’s face turned red. What is he doing?! She shot him a quick glare, but Yu Shuchang just kept smiling, acting like nothing was wrong.

Mrs. Yu didn’t seem to notice anything strange. She was still sipping her tea, talking about some family event that Sheng Yin could barely pay attention to.

She tried to push his hand away again, more firmly this time.

She clenched her teeth and whispered back, "Let go, or I’ll stab you with this fork."

Yu Shuchang chuckled quietly, clearly amused. But finally, he moved his hand away, as if he was giving her a break.

Sheng Yin let out a small sigh of relief, but her face was still burning.

A hint of disappointment crept into her heart for some reason.

Mrs. Yu finally looked at her and smiled kindly. "Yin, you look a little flushed. Are you alright?"

Sheng Yin quickly nodded, forcing a smile. "I’m fine, Mrs. Yu. The soup was just... a bit hot."

Mrs. Yu chuckled.

"Good. Eat more. You look as if you have lost a lot of weight."

Sheng Yin forced out a smile.

After dinner, Mrs. Yu stood up. "Well, it’s getting late. You two should head home."

Sheng Yin quickly got to her feet, eager to escape this awkward dinner.

As they walked to the car, Yu Shuchang opened the door for her like a gentleman. But as soon as they were both inside, she turned to him, her eyes blazing.

"What was that about?" she hissed.

Yu Shuchang laughed, starting the car. "What? I was just playing the part of your boyfriend."

"Mr. Contract Boyfriend, if you dare to touch me again..." Sheng Yin pointed her finger in Yu Shuchang’s direction.

"Then?" Yu Shuchang looked at Sheng Yin with an eager expression,

"Then I will...I will. Let the whole world know you are a pervert!"

Yu Shuchang chuckled,

"Sure go ahead. But what will you say?"

He pretended to think for a moment before slowly started to lean toward Sheng Yin,

"Will you say that I went to my contract boyfriend’s home, and was meeting his mother when he placed his hand on my thighs, or will you say that..."

Sheng Yin’s face turned even redder. She clenched her fists, trying to keep herself from screaming.

"You—!" She huffed, but words wouldn’t come out. How could she win against his shamelessness?

Yu Shuchang chuckled again, clearly enjoying how flustered she was.

"Relax, Sheng Yin. You’re too easy to tease."

She crossed her arms and glared out the window, refusing to look at him.

"I’m not easy to tease," she muttered under her breath.

Yu Shuchang just smirked, focusing on the road.

The car was silent for a while, but Sheng Yin’s heart was still racing. She couldn’t believe how bold he had been tonight.

When they finally pulled up in front of the villa, Sheng Yin grabbed her bag and flung the door open, ready to bolt.

But before she could escape, Yu Shuchang called out, "Hey."

She froze and turned around reluctantly. "What?"

He leaned over, his arm resting on the steering wheel, his face calm but his eyes gleaming with mischief.

"Thanks for saving me back there. You did well."

Sheng Yin blinked, caught off guard. For a second, he looked... sincere. But then his usual smirk crept back onto his face.

"Next time don’t stop me from massaging your thighs."

Sheng Yin gritted her teeth and suddenly showed a smile,

"You know what, should I massage your thighs too?"

Yu Shuchang was confused before he felt Sheng Yin’s hand on his thighs. His heart skipped a beat.

Sheng Yin smiled and waited for Yu Shuchang to push her away.

However, Yu Shuchang didn’t push her hand away, instead, he looked at her...expectantly.

Sheng Yin’s eyes widened in shock. Was he serious right now? She pulled her hand back like she touched something hot.

"You... you’re crazy!" she blurted, her face burning even more.

Yu Shuchang just laughed, his deep voice echoing in the car. "You started it."

"I was just joking!" Sheng Yin snapped, slamming the car door shut. She stomped toward the house, her heart still racing.

Yu Shuchang rolled down the window and called out, "Good night, wifey!"

Sheng Yin froze mid-step. She clenched her fists and spun around.

"Don’t call me that!" she shouted.

But Yu Shuchang just grinned, waving like it was the funniest thing in the world.

Sheng Yin huffed and marched inside, slamming the door behind her.

She leaned against it, trying to calm down. Her heart was pounding like crazy.

"Why is he like this?" she muttered to herself.

She went upstairs, threw herself on the bed, and buried her face in a pillow.

"I’m never eating dinner with him again," she mumbled into the pillow.

Suddenly she remembered the hot hand on her thighs and her entire face turned red,

"No! No! Yin! He was just joking! Don’t...don’t take him seriously! He is destined to end up...Susan."

It was as if someone had thrown cold water on her heart and she instantly woke up from the dream she once had in her past life.

Her quickened heartbeat slowed down and the smile from her face vanished.

"It’s all my wishful thinking..." Sheng Yin muttered.

Her sparkling eyes dulled, followed by heartache.

"It’s all because of that dog, why does he need to mess around me like that!"

Meanwhile, back in the car, Yu Shuchang’s smirk has vanished followed by heavy breathing.

"She will truly drive me insane someday."

Just then Sheng Yin’s flustered appearance flashed in his mind.

Sheng Yin woke up and went downstairs to make some breakfast when she saw Yu Holea.

"Good morning Lea." Sheng Yin smiled and wrapped her arms around Yu Holea’s waist.
